Scholastic Book Fair 2016- Sacred Heart Pasig

If I have to tell you this again and again, I would. READING IS THE KEY TO LEARNING. It is the key to learning new things. It is the key to having an intelligent child. It is the key to being one of the top students. It is even the key to gaining new friends. One of posts in reading includes: 10 Smart Parenting Tips On Encouraging Your Kids To Love Reading Books and 3 Tried and Tested Ways To Encourage Your Kids To Read More. I am very passionate in encouraging parents to teach their kids to learn how to read and to love reading. And I am so happy that the school where my kids are currently enrolled have a book fair! And from one of our favorite publisher nonetheless! Scholastic Book Fair 2016- Sacred Heart Pasig will on run until December 2 only so I made my morning free last Tuesday to check out the fair.

Scholastic Book Fair 2016- Sacred Heart Pasig

Please watch the video above and don’t forget to subscribe! You can the books presented during the fair and it was categorized by age. It makes easier for the kids to choose the book that is appropriate for their age.

The wishlist section makes it easier din for parents like me to prepare our budget! I have 4 kids, so just imagine!  The books available at the fair are also on the wishlist brochure and the price is also included. And may freebies pa! Aside from the freebies, may buy 2 take 1 for 1 Pesos promo din. Books for the buy 2 take 1 at 1 pesos books can be seen at the end of the video above.

Fantastic Beasts books are on display too! And some Harry Potter Books!

I also got the chance to meet Fritzie from Scholastic during my visit.

That “How To Code” Book is perfect for kids Grade 3 and below! I bought one for my kids bec their dad is software developer 🙂

You know what’s the best thing about Book Fair? PEER PRESSURE hahaha when kids are pressured to buy books bec their friend are buying too! And I think this is the best kind of peer pressure. Kaya moms and dads, if any chance there is a book fair in your kids’ school, by all means, give them money to buy their own book!

5 Reasons Why You Should Attend The Philippine Homeschool Conference 2016

Homeschooling. I know it’s not easy. Trust me, I tried! When I only had 2 kids, I tried homeschooling them. I can’t say that it’s not for me, ang nangyari siguro sa akin, kinulang ako ng resources. I can’t even remember kung meron na Philippine Homeschool Conference noon. That’s the good thing about homeschooling these days, the support is overflowing!

And if you’re thinking of Homeschooling your kid/s Philippine Homeschool Conference is worth checking out:

Philippine Homeschool Conference

Philippine Homeschool Conference 2016

Philippine Homeschool Conference is an annual conference brought to us by the Homeschool Association of the Philippine Islands (HAPI). It is the only national conference for Filipino homeschoolers. It provides an opportunity for homeschooling families to connect with one another.

This year, HAPI in partnership with Philam Life, and with Educating for Life as its event organizer, hopes the conference will truly be a venue where parents can be renewed, recharged, and inspired as they fulfill their roles as their children’s primary educators.

Philippine Homeschool Conference will be on October 22, 2016, from 7 a.m. (opening of Registration) to 6 p.m., the conference theme for this year “From Roots to Wings: Homeschooling through the Stages.”

5 Reasons Why You Should Attend The Philippine Homeschool Conference 2016

1. Superb Keynote Speakers

1

Four keynote speakers who are well known in the local and international homeschooling scene will inspire parents to provide their children with “roots”, equip them to lay a strong foundation for them, and give them “wings” to help them reach great heights. Kasama si Bo Sanchez sa keynote speakers!

2. Helpful Breakout Sessions

2

Nagsta-start ka palang bang mag-homeschool? Or matagal ka nang nagho-homeschool? Or maybe you are just curious about homeschooling and want to know how to get started? The 9 breakout sessions lined up for parents in different stages of their homeschooling journey are perfect for you! (PHC 2016 participants get to choose 3 sessions to attend.)

3. Relevant Raffle Prizes

3

Everyone loves getting gifts, especially those that are significant to one’s homeschooling journey and family life! The PHC 2016 organizers bear this in mind as we prepare raffle prizes that are relevant especially to homeschoolers – specifically, scholarships from the homeschool providers shown on the above picture! For sure matutuwa ang mga friends ko na nagho-homeschool dito!

4. Exciting Expo

4

Aside from the inspiring and empowering talks, the conference will also feature an expo with vendors servicing the homeschooling community. So yung mga mahilig mag-shopping diyan, kahit hindi kayo nagho-homeschoool, punta na kayo sa conference! (You can enter the Expo area for only P50 if you don’t plan to attend the talks.)

5. Socialization!

5

Contrary to popular beliefs that kids who are homeschooled are not sociable, they actually are! The conference will be a chance for you to see this, and of course, the parents who will attend will also be able to make chika with one another!

The PHC 2016 registration fee of Php 1000 per head is inclusive of access to the keynote talks, breakout sessions, and the Expo area, which features different products and services that can benefit homeschooling families and even non-homeschoolers who want to enrich their children’s education. (Registration is open online until October 15, after which walk-in participants will need to pay P1200.)
