In line with Mother’s Day, Pampers together with its Partners Salute Moms by providing treats to the moms and their kids and giving put information that were all very helpful to moms.
Being a mom of four, I was very honored to be included in this event. It does not only provides me additional information, it also affirms that what I am doing is right, specially on the sleep department.
Talking about sleep, Dr. Jacqueline Navarro, a developmental and behavioral pediatrician practicing at The Medical City, discussed the importance of sleep, different stages of sleep and what parents can do to for their baby to have a restful sleep.
Sleep is very important as during this time, our body recovers and our body heals. Every age has different sleep requirements,as for newborn to 6 months, they require more than 14 hours of sleep.
Creating a sleep routine will help baby a lot. This can be a soothing massage, a story time or singing lullabies. This activities will signal the baby that it is time to sleep. Keeping baby clean and fresh also plays a vital role in having a restful sleep.
Aside from sleep, PLAY is another important factor in the developmental stage of the baby. Marietes Gangcuangco, Assistant Marketing Manager of Hobbes & Landes was there and recommended toys for newborn babies that will help stimulate them. Hobbes & Landes also offer toy that will help soothe the baby to sleep.
Gymboree instructor Kat Marañas. also demonstrated activities that will help the baby to learn about their body parts, strengthening their muscles and help in their physical development.
“These activities lead the babies to become calm, attentive and interested in the world which is, at this stage, their most important developmental goal,” explained Marañas.
Dr. Ma. Lourdes Palmero, a Pediatric Dermatologist Consultant of The Medical City, shared with us her expertise on infant’s skin care. She discussed the different types of skin disease experienced by the baby and how these can be prevented.
Diaper rash is the most common skin disease experienced by infants and Pampers answer to this is their Pampers Stages New Baby. This line is specially designed so that baby’s skin will stay healthy and comfortable and of course dry. Pampers Stages New Baby has the softest cottony cover and a hypo-allergenic lotion with aloe extract that cares for baby’s delicate bottom.
Andrea Dumangcas, Marketing Manager of The Spa, advised moms on how to take care of their skin after giving birth. She mentioned that feeling good and looking good will also benefits the baby. Put aside half an hour a day while the baby is sleep to pamper yourself.
The Picture Company also graced the event and share with the audience their different packages and services that are all dedicated to capturing family keep sake.
This event also launches “Pampers Salutes Moms” campaign that started last May 19. September 15, 2011 at 12:45 amNone of my kids suffered from severe diaper rash, although I remember Lucas getting rashes from Pampers.. 😛 Chakai grew up on Pampers and it worked fine for her, for Lucas however, hindi hiyang, I had to switch to several brands until finally, nakahanap ng hiyang for him.. 😛
I used to read and sing to my kids when they were babies and I read to them too and if I can’t read to them, I let them listen to my audio books, their fave now is the Little Red Riding Hood, Charles Perrault’s version, the one where the wood cutter never comes and the wolf ends up eating grandma and little red.. 😛 Brutal, but teaches a lesson on how to never trust strangers.. 😀 hehe
