5 Tips To Buying Your Toddler A Remote Controlled Car

A remote-controlled car could be what your toddler needs to keep him or her busy. Besides, the RC cars also help children develop controlling and steering skills in addition to the enjoyment that comes from the music, honking sounds and flashing lights that the cars have.

Here are tips that you can use when buying your toddler a remote-controlled car.

1. Know the needs of your toddler
While one toddler may be pleased by the look of a remote controlled car, another one may be impressed by the speed. Also, toddlers of different ages have varying needs. A suitable car for a two-year-old may not please a four-year-old. Therefore, when buying the RC car, consider the needs of the toddler. Does the toddler need a racing car or an off-road one?

Also, make sure that the car is age appropriate. Older toddlers may need a car with high speed while younger ones may be interested in cars having honking sounds and music.

2. Decide on the type of car
Remote control cars for toddlers are of different models. There are trucks, which are suitable for rough terrains; cars which are best ridden on smooth roads and buggies which are a combination of trucks and cars. Choose the RC car most suitable for your toddler depending on his or her needs.

3. How should the car be powered?
Remote controlled cars are either powered by nitro fuel or are electric. Nitro fuel powered RC cars use gas and oil, therefore their maintenance level is high. The cars are powerful, fast and loud. They are suitable for adolescents and older kids.
Electric powered cars use rechargeable batteries. The cars are less powerful, slower and cheaper and suitable for toddlers.
When buying the RC car, opt for an electric powered one.

4. Consider the price range
When you are buying your toddler an RC car, determine how much you want to spend. The price of the cars can be as low as $10 and as high as $150. The low-cost cars are lower end and suitable for very young toddlers. They have few features, simple controls and tend to be slower.

On the other hand, the slightly expensive models have more features, higher speeds and they are more durable but simple to operate. They are suitable for older kids. The more expensive models have more features, are durable and require high maintenance and therefore not suitable for young toddlers.
Choose an RC car that fits your budget and the needs of your toddler.

5. Check out the brand
Some brands have better and more durable RC cars than others. Go for a well-known brand that has high-quality cars with good performance. Manufacturers with a good reputation usually have RC cars made using high-quality materials and have great features and design. They are also likely to have bagged recognitions and awards in the business.
To ascertain whether a brand is good, you can check the reviews made by other buyers.
