Maintaining Hardwood Flooring for a Lifetime of Beauty

Hardwood flooring is timeless, beautiful and fairly easy to maintain. Of course, proper care is important to ensure the lifespan of this beautiful flooring option, but when you show your hardwood flooring some well-deserved love, your floors will look beautiful for a whole lifetime. Below are a few helpful tips for maintain your hardwood floors:

  • In high traffic areas, consider placing area rugs to protect the hardwood floor. Area rugs are also a great way to add to your room’s décor. There are many options that exist for area rugs, which help ensure you’ll find one to coincide with your room’s existing décor.
  • Never ever use water on your hardwood floor. Water dulls the natural finish and can cause permanent damage. Use recommended cleaners that are supplied by your flooring provider or flooring manufacturer. Visit Flooring America and browse their cleaning tip page to find out about proper hardwood flooring cleaners.
  • If a spill occurs, and they often do, be sure to clean it up quickly. Fast action ensures your floors will not suffer any damage.
  • Humidity can damage hardwood flooring, so it’s important to have a temperature controlled environment to prevent warping.

Civil Engineering Board Exam Result for November 2013:

Complete list of Civil Engineering Board Exam November 2013 passers

Civil Engineering Board Exam November 2013 Topnotchers List (Rappler)

Civil Engineering Board Exam November 2013 School Performance and Top Schools  (also from Rappler)

1. University of the Philippines – Diliman with a 92.39 % passing percentage.

2. University of Santo Tomas with a 91.79 % passing percentage.

3. Technological University of the Philippines-Manila with an 83.87 % passing percentage.

The Civil Engineering Board Exam Result November 2013 was released last Wednesday night. My brother said that the list of passers will be out on PRC website around 8:30 PM. As the clock strikes 8:30 I stopped whatever I am doing, I stopped reading about e commerce workflow, stopped chatting with my friends in Facebook and just go to PRC website for the list of passers. Unfortunately and after more than a hundred of page refresh and more errors, we still can’t see the list on PRC site. Good thing, Rappler and Inquirer was fast,  they published the list of passers even before PRC did.

That highlighted name up there is my brother’s name!

Out of 6,584, 3,168 passed the exam.. and little brother is one of the 3k+ passers! yay!!!!

Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay Review

As I mentioned on my previous post, the pretty princess wants to celebrate her 4th birthday in Tagaytay. My first choice of hotel was Taal Vista since I was looking for Tagayaty hotel with swimming pool and a playground. Taal Vista was fully booked for our chosen date. Two other hotels with swimming pool and playground came up, Hotel Kimberly and Estancia Hotel. Reviews from Estancia Hotel are not great, where as Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay review are really nice. The hotel was fully booked too when I inquired.. realizing we can’t get a decent hotel with our chosen date, we moved our vacation a day earlier.

Another reason why I chose Hotel Kimberly over Estancia Hotel is the location. Hotel Kimberly is located a few kilometers away from the main Tagaytay Road (Tagaytay-Nasugnbu Highway)..which is a bit colder if you’re thinking of swimming..the hotel is located at Crisanto M. De Los Reyes Avenue, Barangay Kaybagal North Tagaytay (near Mahogany Market) and judging from the location, it would be less cold in the area.

Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay

Hotel Kimberly offers 4 kinds of accommodations:

  • Superior room P4,700 per night with breakfast for 2 (Queen Sized bed or twin bed)
  • Deluxe room P5,700 per night with breakfast for 2 (Queen Sized bed or twin bed)
  • Premier family rooms P6,700 per night with breakfast for 4 (2 Queen sized bed)
  • Kimberly Suite P10,000 per night with breakfast for 2

We got a Premier Family Room:

This is not the actual room where we stayed..but basically this is how it looks like (minus the extra bed, extra person is 1000PhP with breakfast).

Above the small ref is a set of coffee condiments with cups, saucer, teaspoon and water heater (and mineral bottle, 2 bottles are free)

Hotel Kimberly bathroom is very simple but the toiletries are complete and the bathroom is really clean.

Now comes the fun part: the indoor play room!

Hotel Kimberly indoor playroom has 4 table games (pingpong, billiards, Foosball, hockey), a small playground for the kids and an area with 3 running/ exercise equipment. Use of this room if free but you need to surrender an ID in order at the reception, and you are allowed to play two games (if you want to play pingpong and foosball, the needed game accessories will be given to you, if you want to play another game, just surrender the accessories and you will be given another set).

The birthday girl had fun at the play area, specially with this mini activity set.. she also enjoyed playing hockey, while the boys had fun at the gym area.

Outdoor playground was really cool.. the area was big and for a family with four rowdy kids, this is the perfect playground!

Hotel Kimberly has two swimming pools, one is 3 feet and the other one is 5 feet deep. Beach towels and floaters for the kids are provided by the hotel.

Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay has a dinning area that offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and meryenda. The receiving area is big and you can find some cozy corners with couches (makes you feel at home):

Our stay at Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay was a very pleasant one, in fact, the kids are asking for one more night at the hotel.

I can say that Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay is the perfect hotel for our family, spacious rooms, indoor and outdoor play area, 2 swimming pools, nice food and very nice hotel staff. I am overly satisfied with our stay at this hotel.
