Sail through Maternity, without Maternity Clothes

As soon as a woman falls pregnant, amidst the excitement of bringing a new life into the world, several thoughts are directed at what clothing will last them through their pregnancy and their growing bump. While there’s a whole host of fantastic maternity clothing on the market, some at affordable prices through supermarket ranges such as George, sometimes, it’s nice to buy clothing that can last during and after pregnancy to get the maximum amount of wear out of your new attire.

As the autumn and winter seasons approach, now is the time to stock up on any warm clothing that your summer wardrobe may be lacking. Choose items that will fit your pregnant figure while also doubling up as post-pregnancy threads; for this, you don’t have to head for the maternity range. Be clever about your choices and you could pick up some fabulous items from the main collections.

Cardigans

Women’s cardigans are a fabulous addition to any autumn wardrobe, whether you’re pregnant or not, and the design of many women’s cardigans from George at ASDA will allow them to be worn with bump and without.

Choose a cardigan that’s longer in length – the Moda Ribbed Cardigan for £12 from George would be perfect; its open front means that regardless of bump size, it will suit your growing figure without stretching out of shape.

Maxi Dresses

These are an ideal wardrobe addition, even as the weather changes towards milder temperatures. Team with a cardigan or shawl and you have a perfect outfit for an evening meal or even a daytime look. While a standard maxi dress may not fit during the last months of a pregnancy, it will certainly accommodate the early stages to save you investing in maternity threads too soon.

Opt for autumnal colours, such as a deep, flattering burgundy, and choose a dress that is flowing rather than figure-hugging, which will brush past your growing bump to give a seamless look.

Jeans

Most ladies will choose to invest in some maternity jeans at some point – whether it’s the under-bump or over-bump design is up to the individual. However, if you’re a little strapped for cash and want to try and utilise standard jeans for as long as possible (investing in a new pair that you can wear afterwards, perhaps?), you could always purchase a waistband extender which helps to extend the waist of your jeans and trousers as you grow.

Coat

It’s a shame to spend a lot of money on a coat that’s designed solely for maternity use – especially as many winter coats can be quite expensive. Rather than spending on a maternity coat that you’ll get minimal use out of, buy an A Line, wraparound or cape style coat that can double up as a maternity coat during pregnancy while it can also be used afterwards, too.

You shouldn’t feel pressured into heading for the maternity rails as soon as you start to show. Be sensible, choose affordable items and use versatile, standard clothing wherever possible, to avoid spending OTT on maternity items.

Throwback: Sleep Time With My Kids

Last week, I had the chance to organize my blog’s categories and tags..and I am not finished yet! more blog posts to categorize! ayayay! I need more time. And while doing so, I chanced upon some of my Mommy Moments entries. One entry is about sleep and  thought of making a collage of their now and then sleeping photos:

These are my kids in 2009.. that’s Kuya, Diko, Chico and Pretty Princess Sati.. as I have said, this is one of my favorite activity, staring at them while they are sleeping.. ang babait tingnan no?

And here they are now:

Bigger but still looks the same, parang walang gagawing kakulitan ahaha

They look so peaceful no? but did you know that it is during this time that our kids is at their busiest moment.. the time where they process the things they learned during the day. They  move, change position, laugh and even talk, these are called the Golden Sleep Moments.

Si kuya, yan ang madalas mag sleep talk.. he would sometimes talk about the things he did during the day. The little girl would  smile and even laugh while sleeping.. while Mico and Chico would kick or stretch their arms. And cute nila tingnan when they do stuff like that.

At yan ang nakakamiss kila Kuya at Diko dahil sa kabilang room na sila natutulog 🙁

How about you mommies? How’s your kids when they are sleeping? Malikot ba? Nagsasalita? Naninipa? Share with us on the comment section 🙂

Pure Natural colors of diamonds

Diamonds are not essentially colorless but are available in wide variety of attractive colors. The colors of diamonds are cause by the impurities present and how the light is refracted through it. However it does not affect the gilt and glitter of diamonds. Some colors are so rare that only a few diamonds of such colors exists. Jeweler fashioned by such fancy color diamonds looks splendid. Famous jewelry brands like Nakshatra diamond jewellery offers a great variety of diamond color choices. Here are the lists of colors diamonds are available in:

Blue Diamonds: Natural blue diamonds are very rare, and there is nothing to feel blue about. They often found in grey, black and green caused due to the presence of trace elements of boron and nitrogen in it.

Green Diamonds:  They acquire their color because of ages of exposure to radiation during their formative process. Pure green diamonds are extremely rare.

Pink Diamonds:  They acquire their color due to a naturally-occurring realignment of the diamond crystal during its formation. They are sometimes come with secondary colors such as red, orange and purple, making natural pink diamonds very rare.

Orange Diamonds

Natural orange diamonds are extremely rare and acquire their color due to nitrogen present in it. Orange diamonds usually are accompanied by secondary colors like red and yellow, making a pure orange diamond a true collector’s item.

Red Diamonds

Natural red diamonds are the rarest in the world. If you see one, you’re surely one the very rare breed. Red diamonds are rarely seen in their untainted form. They almost always accompanied by secondary colors such as purple and brown.

Yellow Diamonds: Natural yellow diamonds are popular all over the world due to their pleasing hue and “sunny” disposition. Also known as canary diamonds their intensity spans seven steps from faint to deep. Presence of nitrogen gives it its color.

Champagne Diamonds: Natural brown diamonds much common and are affordable. Natural brown diamonds are playfully identified as cognac (for light brown), champagne (for medium brown) and chocolate (for dark brown) diamonds.

Chameleon Diamonds

These stones are the unicorns of diamond family because they defy one of diamonds’ ironclad properties: the immutability of their color. Chameleon diamonds can temporarily change their color, catalyzed by either by either temperature or light. Chameleon diamonds always appear in some sort of color combination (usually green, yellow, brown and/or gray) and are never found in either any pure color. Till now it is beyond the understanding of science how it changes its color, making Chameleons diamonds extremely rare and valuable.

Violet/Purple Diamonds:   They are extremely rare in their pure color form, and almost always are found with a secondary hue, usually blue or grey due to the presence of hydrogen.

Grey Diamonds:  They lack in traditional sparkle but make up for unusual silver and are uncommonly elegant.

Black Diamonds: Natural black diamonds are very rare and valuable. They have an onyx-like appearance and are often  accompanied by blue or violet.
