Breastfeeding Princess Sati

Yes, at 3, she is still breastfed. And I was often asked, you still have milk? Of course, she wouldn’t be feeding if I have none. So how do we do it? How come we still have milk?

Well, we know (or breastfeeding moms know) that as long as the breast is stimulated, it will produce milk. That’s the main reason of course, but there are times that milk production is low and that’s when I have to strive hard in order to produce more. Stress is the main cause why I have low production sometimes. She suffers and I do too. It’s painful when there is less milk.

I cannot take away the stress (that’s part of me haha) but what I do to increase my milk production is to eat and drink food that can help me with it. I stay away from food that can affect my production and hydrates myself very well. I have learned that in order to produce more milk, you need to hydrate yourself well. And yes malungay helps a lot.

When it comes to ensuring that we are both getting the nutrients we need, I make sure I take Anmum Lacta daily. It is the only milk specially formulated for breastfeeding moms like me.

Anmum Lacta boost our daily intake of  Gangliosides – which promote child’s brain cell connections. It also contains Sialic Acid and Essential Fatty Acids, both building blocks for child’s brain. So it is very important for moms to take Anmum Lacta daily, specially for moms who just gave birth. Don’t worry mommies, it will not take a toll on your post partum weight.. with reduced fat and lactose, it is low on calories.

Anmum really takes care of us moms, pregnant and even after we gave birth.. what more, Anmum is reaching out more moms through their Facebook Page: Anmum Mommy Circle. A place where moms can celebrate and share the joys of being mom, a place where moms can ask for advice and interact with other moms. Anmum has an in house nutritionist that moms can also ask. If you haven’t liked the Anmum page, just click the link above and be ready to meet other moms like you.

2012: A Year To Remember

OK, let’s try a recap of my 2012..

Looking back at my old posts, the first part of year 2012 was all about discovering things. Started a new routine with my new found friends, colored my hair for the second time (the first one was way back 2001), renewed my passion for DIY crafts and party favors and got a few high paying task for my blogs.

The first quarter of 2012 also served as my wake up call, as I discovered that I had kidney problems. Knowing that, it helped me to  be what I am right now, healthier and yes, slimmer! I became more conscious of what I eat and started taking care of my body. My journey to being fit started the first quarter of the year.

Second quarter was almost all about events, it was summer! And I had almost all the time in the world all for myself. It was all about gardening and doing a few more crafts on the side. Later part of the year, I finally succumbed to the idea of having a house helper. You know I never really liked dish washing and I can’t even have a dishwasher because we are still renting. But believe me, I tried. I even went as far as researching about frigidaire dishwasher parts and everything about dishwasher and entertained the idea of asking my landlord if we can install one. Apparently, we cannot. Luckily, I got a stay out helper that was OK with my terms. I only need a helper, after lunch onward, and I got what I want.

Of course the highlight of the year was when I got invited to be part of C-lium’s Lose More, Live More Bloggers Edition. It was a very enlightening experience. It also paved way to me being a commercial talent, OK model (up until now, I still get high thinking about that hahah). May I just tell you that it is SO NOT ME. Never in my life I dreamed of being on TV (yeah same as blogging, never did I imagine myself writing, or making a living out of writing, heck! I even failed a few communication subjects when I was in college.) and there I was, sitting, waiting for my scene. I almost back out during our shoot. It’s not my thing. But it was SO MUCH FUN! I mean not being on TV and all but being able to inspire people to live more and be healthier. I am a living proof that in order to live more, you have to be healthier!

But you know what’s the biggest blessing I received last year? My family! Their love was just too much for me. I spend every night with so much gratitude in my heart. I have been blessed with the sweetest, most supportive family, more than I deserve. And because of them and all the things that happened to me last year, indeed 2012, is a year to remember!

This year, I am so ready to make another fruitful year with my love ones.

How about you?

Welcoming 2013 With A Super Positive Vibe!

There is so much that I want to write.. so many things happened the past few weeks, I may say, last year. Too many that it left me with no energy to blog about it! That’s the irony of blogging, you have all the time in the world to blog but nothing to blog about or having so many things to blog about but no time to write about it.. haays.. but hey, I am not complaining.. 2012 was a blast.. It ended with so much blessings and 2013 said hello with so many promises. I am overwhelmed with it!

Let’s pick up where I left you..

Ah, the world of dough! I haven’t gotten into that world yet.. but tried my new oven with lasagna.. the first one, palpak! The second try, good enough, but still not how I wanted it to taste.. 3rd try maybe. And when my lasagna is perfect, I will try Macaroni and Four Cheese Bake. Recipe can be found at Nestle Cream Fanpage or you can refer to this photo:

I realized recipe cards are better than than recipe books.. It makes things less complicated (well to me) and I am glad Nestle Cream released a lot of recipe cards last year (just in time for the holiday and post Holiday cooking).

I got my oven from Quiapo, and I know you’ve been itching to tell me: What? dinayo mo ang Quiapo just to buy an oven? Well, I do that all the time.. even though I am from Pasig, Quiapo and Divisoria are my playgrounds. But no.. that day, hindi ko naman dinayo ang Quiapo for oven alone.. we bought the kids early Christmas presents around that area. Bikes that is! It would have been easier and more convenient to just buy bikes at department stores or small bike stores devah? But for FOUR kids? hassle sa bulsa mga teh. We have to look for cheap but quality bikes. And Quiapo is the answer! Along Quezon Blvd, you can find a lot of bike stores. There’s two that stands out: Cycle Art Marketing and Global Craze Bikes (separate post na lang kung bakit ha.. masyado hahaba ang blog post na itetch.. pati ang mag presyo ng bisikleta, utang muna).

And the Christmas present is done.. uh oh, that’s what I thought..

A few days before Christmas, someone left me at Toys R Us with a few thousands on hand.. and what happened next? another set of Christmas presents for the kids! Argh! Please don’t do that to me again.. wag mo na ako pawalan sa Toys R US!  But you know what, that’s one of the most fulfilling shopping spree I did. Mangiyak, ngiyak pa ako while shopping. Kase naman, I got them the toys they have been asking for a very very long time already and I have been denying it to them. I am not a fan of toy guns eh.. but realized that my 2 boys are old enough for it.. so I said yes to NERF! Buti na lang sale! And the piece I got is super duper cool! It can be used/ played 4 ways. From 1500 each, I got it for 800 each. The one I got for my third boy is a xylophone, he’s been asking for it for a long time too, never had the chance to look for one though. For the little girl, a play pretend cake set.

Teary eyed talaga ako while paying for it, I can just imagine their happiness as they open their gifts. Ang saya lang! And indeed, after feasting with our Noche Buena food, and after their street Christmas Party (yes they had their party during Noche Buena).. the house was filled with screams and I love yous and thank you mommy and daddy for almost a minute. Awwwww.. that’s what you call a perfect Christmas! (un lang nabura ng magaling ko jowa ang mga pictures!) their smiles would be forever in our hearts though..

Days before the year ends.. I am at peace. And with a realization that though my life is nothing close to being perfect, I am so blessed and so I should never ever entertain negative thoughts ever.. I am not giving myself a right for nega vibes. As I have said, 2012 ended with a blessings.. too much that I lost count. The last few days of 2012 to me, is nothing but pure happiness and LOVE (yes double meaning yan! LOVE LOVE LOVE! hurrah for the BEST Husband!). Haaaaays 2012…. thank you!

Say hello to 2013! New Year’s Resolution? oh yes, be more positive and spend more time with my kids.

Hopefully I can make a best of 2012 before January ends!

And oh stay tune for my New Year, New You giveaway anytime next week 🙂

In fairness ha, I missed doing this 🙂
