Pampers Active Baby Celebrity Babylympics

The first ever Pampers Celebrity Babylympics was held at Holiday Inn, Ortigas. Celebrity babies put their skills and unique movement to test as event guests cheered fort he babies and clapped as the babies displayed their talent and unique abilities in the series of activities.

The activities was designed by Gymboree Music and Play and Pampers diapers. The two experts in baby development were united in their goal to encourage moms and babies to play more to nurture baby’s development.

“As the global leader in early childhood learning, Gymboree recognizes how important play us in helping to support the development of children. From sensory stimulation to problem solving games and storytelling, our classes use play-based activities to stretch the body and mind.” – Ann Tan, President of Gymboree Play And Music

“We also encourage parents to be actively involved in these programs – at Gymboree Play & Music, teachers work closely with parents to identify the best class for a cild based on his or her age and stage of development and activities are designed to help children develop balance, coordination and other sensory stimuli in a group play environment.”

And to help encourage uninterrupted play for babies, Pampers has continued to improve its Active Baby diaper by providing it with an Extra-lock layer that keeps baby’s bottom dry even under pressure.

“Imagine when your baby is still learning to walk; he takes a step, maybe two, then BOOM, he falls down on his bottom. Then it will put sudden pressure on the diaper. SP in this case, your diaper needs to lock the urine well and not let urine come out under baby pressure.”

“Since dryness is so important in making sure that baby stays comfortable enough to play, Pampers Active baby now has a special lock layer to absorb wetness, allowing with a soft breathable cover and a hypoallergenic lotion, which all works together to keep baby’s bottom dry. And when baby is comfortable learning and play can continue all day.” – Anama Dimapilis, P&G Brand PR Manager for Pampers

The first ever Pampers Celebrity Babylympics was hosted by RJ Ledesma.

Opening the Babylympics was the celebrity mom and Pampers Playtime Ambassador Vina Morales with her baby Ceana. As with traditional Olympics, to signal the beginning of the game, celebrity mom Vina Morales and baby Ceana lit the torch.

Five celebrity moms and their babies vied for the Pampers Babyolympics Medals – Nancy Castiglione and baby Joaquin, Aubrey Miles and baby Hunter, Chesca Garcia and her baby Kendra, Karel Marquez and baby Keylie and Miss Jennifer Sevilla (I’ll post more about her later) and her baby Simon Rafa.

The Babylympic games included the ball toss, which tests a baby’s motor planning and body awareness, the top and bottom tunnel crawl which showcases an infant’s spatial awareness and even a speacial challenge for moms on who can change diapers the quickest.

Aubrey Miles and baby Hunter won first place, Chesca Garcia and baby Kendra won 2nd place. Simon Rafa and Mommy Jennifer was at third while Karel Marquez and baby Keylie won 4th and Nancy Castiglione and baby Joaquin placed 5th.

The event was also the launch of Pampers Active Baby Play Everyday Playtime course, fun playtime routines that parents can do with your baby. Designed by Pampers and Gymboree, these moves can help parents bond with their baby while helping them develop new skills at the same time.

Oh, Baby! All Natural Food For Baby and Baby Food Recipes

Yup.. she is turning a year old and I have not given her complicated baby food yet. It’s not the same with her brothers who started eating food for babies like rice and other solid foods at 8 months (they started cereals at 6 months). As with Sati, well, I just have to be really really careful. She is a girl and I don’t want her to experience food allergies. The reason why I am delaying her solid food introduction. But girl she may be, she is as active as a boy! And her appetite is killing my boobies (she is pure breastfed). So I am in the look out for baby food recipes that is right for her.

And I think I have found an answer in Oh Baby! All Natural Food.

Oh Baby! Natural Food is a line of all natural baby food (meals and snacks) for babies and kids. It is even good for Moms and Dads (trust me).

The concept was born when former high school classmates and fellow mommy chefs Christina Trillana-Lagdameo and Rebecca Disini-Gomez had their babies. And as it is it with other moms, they couldn’t wait to introduce solid foods to their babies. What they found in stores and supermarkets are rather disappointing. So instead of settling down with what supermarket offers, they decided to put their culinary expertise and created their own baby foods. It was a success as their kids loved the food so much. And with that, the two mommy chefs decied to share it with us and the was how Oh, Baby! All Natural Baby Foods was born.

Mommy chef Rebecca pursued her passion for food in Le Cordon Bleu in London and graduated with a Cuisine Diploma. She is Food Safety and Hygiene Certified by the Royal Institute of Public Health and Hygiene. While working for Unilever as Regional Chef for Asia, Africa and the Middle East , Mommy Rebecca got a taste of the goodness the world has to offer. Now, she is working at her most important and fulfilling job–mommy to a bright-eyed one-year-old daughter who is learning more and more about good food everyday.
Mommy chef Tina went after her dream in the Culinary Institute of America in New York. She has an Associate of Occupational Studies in Culinary and is Safe serve certified. While in the Big Apple, Mommy Tina worked as a line cook in Tabla Restaurant and Catering Manager in the well-known and loved Dean and Deluca. She is mommy to a bubbly four-year-old girl and active one-year-old boy. Her new dream is to make food with natural goodness that parents like her can feel good about giving their children.

Teething Biscuits and Grow n’ Go Cookies

Oh Baby! Teething Biscuits are perfect for little mouths and fingers. Their texture helps soothe baby gums and they’re shaped especially for tiny grips. Oh Baby! Teething Biscuits are a source of essential nutrients (a.k.a the good stuff) and a great way to get your baby started on self-feeding.

Grow n’ go cookies are healthy, kid-friendly snacks that mommies and daddies can feel good about putting in lunchboxes and bringing on trips. They are made from the best ingredients available and are sweetened with honey so that your little ones can be as busy as bees (without bouncing off walls).

It was mentioned that Oh, Baby! foods are also good for moms and dads, indeed it is. During the press launch of Oh Baby! Natural Food at Je Suis Gourmand, Fort Bonifacio, guests were served with gourmet food made from, what else, Oh Baby! Natural Food!

Event host was Nancy Castiglione.

Now, let’s wait and see if our little princess will like as much as I liked it 🙂

What Is Daylight Savings And The Start of Day Light Savings 2010

We often heard the term Daylight Savings specially when autumn starts. If we think about it more, it actually means, daylight saving time or DST. It is a practice of temporarily adjusting the clock and is practiced in most country. At the start of spring time, clocks are adjusted an hour forward and one hour backward at the start of autumn. This is done so as afternoons have more daylight and mornings have less. In general, the practice was done to reduce the use of light in the evening.

The effect of Daylight Savings are still controversial. There are studies that shows decrease on traffic accidents because of it. And the practice of adjusting the clock is also beneficial to people who needs sunlight even after office hours. And come to think of it, the presence of daylight even when the clock says 6 PM gives people the need to still do something like change their door knobs or clean the house. I think psychologically the effect of DST is good. A person, instead of feeling tired around 6PM, won’t feel that way since there is daylight still.
The Start of Day Light Savings 2010 varies around the globe. In some parts of Australia, the schedule of daylight savings time for 2010 starts October and will end on April. In the United states, it started last Marc and will end the first week of November. The Start of Day Light Savings 2010 for United Kingdom was March to October.

When I was a kid, the only thing that I can relate to Daylight savings is summer solstice. But of course, our country also experimented with DST for a short period of time. And same as the reason why DST was practiced, it was implemented so as to minimize the use of electricity. It was done during the presidencies of Corazon Aquino (1986 to 1992) and Fidel Ramos (1992 to 1998).
