No. You do not have to be religious to appreciate it.
While the story is based on the final days of Jesus Christ, the musical also explores very human emotions like love, doubt, loyalty, pressure, and betrayal. If you enjoy live theatre, rock music, or visually engaging productions, there is a lot to enjoy here.
3. Do I need to watch the Jesus Christ Superstar movie before watching?
You do not have to, but I recommend it.
