Immuvit MetaFit Challenge Week 2

Yes, I am already on my week 2 of the one month Immuvit MetaFit Challenge.

As you know, Week 1 involves two kinds of routine, let’s call it Set A (jumping jack, squat, push up & lunges) and Set B (sealed jack, power/squat jack & push up) and this 2 sets are done alternately on the first week, Day 1 is Set A, Day 2 is Set B, Day 3 is Set  and so on. Aside from doing MetaFit everyday, our fitness plan also includes taking Immuvit of course, eating SMALL MEALS 6 times a day, basically it’s eating time every two hours. I am still working on it as when I am so engrossed with whatever I am doing (may it be gardening, drawing or writing) I tend to ignore my stomach.

Coach Jim also mentioned that we should avoid colored drinks, meaning, no soda, no tea, no coffee. For someone who loves anything with color, that challenge was difficult for me. The battle with the colored drinks is not yet over, specially Milk Tea (which has become my comfort drink before I took the challenge). I thought this would be easy but it turns out it’s not. There’s just so many temptations around me, junk food, Nutella, milk tea, frappe, IT IS SO HARD. Eating is very comforting to me, specially when I am down or when I am stressed out. And that’s what I have to work out on my second week, to divert my attention whenever my emotions go on a roller coaster. My mantra for Week 2 is When sad, write don’t eat! or When sad, eat but eat healthily! Last week’s mantra is I can do this! that’s for the routine which made my whole body sore.. but I did it, in fact I am doing it 2x a day already!

And here’s how I progressed during the first week:

First Day
It was 3 rounds of Set A and 2 jumping jacks, I know I can do 4 rounds, so I was a bit disappointed. What I achieved that day was, I avoided coffee and was able to say no to chocolates when we went to the grocery. As mentioned, I have a hard time following the every two hours small meal. I was busy gardening the whole morning that I had my second meal only after 4 hours and I used so much energy planting that I end up with a growling stomach! By the end of the day, I can already feel my body’s complaining and my legs are starting to say NO each time I try to take a step or climb the stairs. And that’s when my mantra came in: I CAN DO THIS.

Day 2
It was Set B for day 2, I did 4 rounds plus 4 power/squat jacks, not bad, considering when we tried it first, I fainted. I was out that day, attended a press launch and you know how press launches are, buffet! lots of food! I managed not to eat a lot and did not even had colored drinks, only water. But I sneaked on a frappe that day, got frustrated over something and end up comforting myself with frappe and ensaymada. If there is any consolation, I didn’t finished off the whipped cream as well as the chocolate syrup.

Day3
I did 3 rounds + 1 lunge (first leg), quite an improvement huh. I was able to avoid soda though it feels like it’s calling my name, I almost took a sip but I did not! My body’s not as sore as it was the other day. I can now walk and climb the stairs better. I can also stand up and sit down without much assistance. The down side of the day, I ate a lot during dinner, what? with chicken adobo, tomato and salted egg, it just hard not to eat a cup of rice! And we had doughnut and milk tea for dessert.

Day 4
I was ready to do it 2 times a day. I finished 4 rounds plus 4 push ups and my body’s already adjusted to it. Attended an event at SM North EDSA, went home riding MRT, alighted at Ortigas Station, walked to Robinsons Galleria, then rode on a bus, standing for almost 20 minutes. Why do I need to say what I have been through? On ordinary days, I’d be dead tired by the time I am home and bed would be my best friend, for how long? as long as I can. That day was different! I was still energetic and even managed to play with the kids (and the husband, if you know what I mean, big play baby, big play!). I can only thank Immuvit and MetaFit for that!

Day 5
4 Rounds + 10 squats on the morning and 4 rounds + 2 lunges (one leg) on the afternoon. Yes! it’s now 2x a day MetaFit for me. I love the fact that I improved/ did it faster on the afternoon. I also love the fact that I am sweating even if I am not working out. I love the fact that I can run-climb the stairs without getting out of breath. I love the fact that I feel a lot stronger and fitter! And I am a bit easier to myself now, allowing myself to have a few of the things that I am used to. Cold Turkey’s not the best option for me. I feel like I am depriving myself too much that I end up eating more.

Day 6
I am working out on my nap since I am used to taking long naps in the afternoon, I end up not eating every two hours. I finished 5 rounds+ 3 power/squat jacks in the morning and 5 rounds + 5 power jacks in the afternoon.

Day 7
Just when I thought I can do it more than 2x a day, a new routine came in. There’s a new one for week 2, although we were advised that the routine will be changed every week, I didn’t paid much attention that time. I was a bit slower, maybe because I was anxious of the week 2 routine. I only finished 3 rounds + 9 push ups on the morning and 4 rounds + 8 push ups in the afternoon.

All in all, I can say that my first week was good. I was so used to eating almost anything I want, drinking coffee  more than twice a day, finishing my meal with a glass of soda instead of water and sleeping really late at night. For the first week of this challenge, I managed to avoid almost half of what I used to eat and changed my lifestyle a bit. I had a hard time fighting the urge to eat sweets but I know week 2 will be a lot different and yes, fitter!

Week 2, I will be working out on my nap and food intake, I promise to be better this week. I will be more conscious of the time as well as the food. I will continue doing MetaFit twice a day and continue taking Immuvit.

I know you have been all curious how a 4 minute exercise can do as much, of course this is in partner with Immuvit. Immuvit MetaFit Challenge

It was when I learned I have kidney stone that I decided to change my eating habit as well as my lifestyle. I started with drinking more water (since that’s the culprit of my stone) and watching what I eat. It also gives way to being more active, such as participating in fun run and exercising/ dancing almost everyday. The kidney stone was my wake up call. But you know, being a mom of four, it’s just hard to keep up with everything, the tendency is, whenever I am stressed, I tend to eat a lot. It’s also a challenge to exercise for 30 minutes a day since I have two toddlers who always demand my attention. Even before my routine ends, one of them would come running to me asking me to hug them or just want my attention. A few more weeks of that and I gave up my exercise. The good news is (in a way) I had to discipline myself more in terms of eating and I am just glad that I am starting to be more choosy with what I eat. I still want to exercise though, I am planning to join more fun runs and beat myself (I did 3k for 32 minutes.. yup, that slow) and I want to increase my endurance and strength.

Immuvit MetaFit was like an answered prayer to me. It is a 4 minute exercise that can burn up to 600 calories. Based on my research, 30 minutes of zumba can burn up to 400 calories, but that’s 30 minutes! Immuvit MetaFit is only 4 minutes. Last April 17, I signed up with for Immuvit MetaFit challenge, a one month program that will challenge us to be fitter, stronger and younger!

bloggers included in the challenge listen as Coach Jim explains about Somatopause and how to counter it

Coach Jim Saret (the man behind the 4 minute work out) explained to us how our body’s metabolism changes over time and why we grow bigger (horizontally) as we grow older. The medical term on this condition is Somatopause, a gradual decrease on growth hormone secretion. It happens in adults like us and the symptoms of it includes weight gain, bone density loss and declining energy. So if there is a decrease in Growth hormones in our body, the only way to reverse it is to have more growth hormones.. unfortunately, growth hormones supplements is not the answer. This kind of hormones that we need is produced by our body and only a specific exercise can make our body produce it. Here’s Coach Jim presentation:

Immuvit MetaFit Challenge

Metafit workshop is the answer. That’s Metabolic fitness, a very short exercise that can burn up to 600 calories, it also promotes higher metabolism rate and energy, stronger bones and lower blood sugar. It has been  proven, scientifically, to help our body release somatotropin or the growth hormones that counters somatopause.

Immuvit, multivitamin supplement that contains 2 kinds of ginseng that helps in fighting aging

Metafit goes well withImmuvit, as coach Jim puts it, “IMMUVIT is the only multivitamin supplement that contains 2 essential Ginseng extracts: Korean and Siberian ginseng – plus CoQ10. Combined, these superior ingredients effectively help slow down the manifestations of aging.”

After that brief and very educational discussion, Coach Jim taught us the Metafit routine along with Erik of Pinoy Biggest Loser.

weigh in before we started Metafit (and I lost 1 Lbs after.. yay!)

So here’s Erik, teaching us the routines for MetaFit:

that’s jumping jack, squat (please take note of the right way to squat), push up and lunges.

after the first routine, yes I can still laugh at that time.

The work out includes, jumping jack, squat, push up and lunges (each leg) which is done repeatedly, 10 times each (described in the video). The first time we did, Coach Jim said we were doing it wrong, he said that we can push our selves more. Its a high intensity work out so we should feel the intensity. It should feel like the longest 4 minutes of your time, wishing it would end soon –hindi pa ba tapos?? wala pa bang 4 minutes?? hindi ko na kayaaaa!!– that kind of intensity.

He challenged us to do more on the second exercise (the work outs will be done alternately everyday), he challenged us to do 5 sets in 4 minutes. That means 5 repetition of 1o sealed jack, 10 power jack and 10 push up. Knowing I can do more, I pushed myself to the limit until I almost faint (at 3 minutes I think). It’s nice to know my limit and how much I can do. It’s also nice that I experienced how it was to be on the verge of it. Coach Jim said it’s normal due to Oxygen shortage.. and that you just need to lie down, with your feet up and slowly breathe. After a few minutes, I can finally stand again though not as normal as before I start doing Metafit (it took about 30 minutes more).

As this is a one month challenge, we have to do MetaFit everyday (well that’s just 4 minutes so that won’t be a problem to me). We were also given a health diary which will serve us our guide (I’ll have it open to public maybe after 2 weeks). Of course, it will not be about Metafit and Immuvit, I know I need to work hard in order to achieve the body I want. My goal is to lose at least 8 lbs after the challenge, be able to run 3k for 15 minutes or less (in a month) and to be able to do real push up (in two weeks). To achieve that goals, aside from taking Immuvit everyday and doing MetaFIt everyday (or 2x a day if I can do it) I will be changing my lifestyle and of course watch what I eat. I have to cut back on food that’s not good for my body.

To know more about Immuvit and Metafit, visit Immuvit Facebook page. And of course stay tune as I’ll be updating you weekly on how this challenge goes for me.
