What You Need To Know About RF and Cavitation Treatment Deals

I have been taking C-Lium for almost a month now and I can already see the results.. but there are a dozen or so slimming treatment on my inbox waiting for me.. might as well use it with C-Lium and let’s see how slim I can get 🙂 This post partum x 4 fats are not that easy to lose.

Bought this deal last July and yeah it took me that long to avail it.. reasons are:

  • too much negative review about RF and other slimming treatments
  • the first time I called the clinic was fully booked until September (if I am not mistaken)
  • I was too afraid to try it hehe

Finally I had the courage to book for an appointment and it was set today.. past 2 in the afternoon. I was advised not to eat anything 1 hour before the session but I can drink warm water..not cold, just warm. Oh before I forgot, the clinic is DERMCARE and their branch where I redeemed the coupon was in SM Hypermarket, Pasig.

Let’s talk about my experience first. I was asked to take off my top and then Emjay (the one who did the treatment) measure my upper, middle and lower abdomen. Then I was asked to lie down and she explained to me what is about to happen.. she mentioned that I wuld be hearing some sound waves during the treatment and if I can’t tolerate it she can lower the vibration..The sound kinda scared me, feels like my ears are about to burst but she said it was perfectly safe.. what I was hearing is breakdown of fats.. so there.. we lasted for 15 minutes and I am done. That easy. yeah.

On to RF(Radio Frequency) vs Cavitation treatment.. Emjay was very nice to explain it all to me.. what I availed  or what I bought from the group buying site is a cavitation treatment.. not RF. What’s the difference? Cavitation is used to breakdown the fats where as RF is used for toning. If you’re as big as a whale like me, better invest on cavitation first 🙂

It will take 10-12 sessions before you can the result. Each session should last for 30 minutes. The one I bought from the group buying site is for 15 minute treatment only.. so if I want results, I have to use 2 voucher per session.

So if you are planning to buy slimming treatment, know what you really need, cavitation or RF? and read the fine prints carefully so you would know. Overall my experience was really nice, thanks to Emjay who was very nice answering all my inquires.. if ever there would be DERMCARE deal again, I will surely be buying more.. specially now that I learned I need RF too after 10-12 sessions of cavitaion treatment.

Do you have any slimming treatment that you’d like to share, let us know!

Oh by the way, before this treatment, I learned that I won from the CISCO survey for having the most number of respondents.. weeeh!!

I’ll be announcing the winners for our chocolates next week.. as well as the winners for the JOHNSON’s My Kid’s Growing Up So Fast Contest caption contest and also my top commenter giveaway winner.. stay tuned on Tuesday!

Mommy Bloggers Speak Up On Breastfeeding

make that Smart, glamorous and hardworking mommy bloggers speak up on breastfeeding..

I don’t know if I can call myself a breastfeeding advocate.. I do believe in breastfeeding and in fact breastfed all my kids. The boys were all breastfed for one year (oldest is one year, second is one year and 9 months, third boy is one year too).. I plan on breastfeeding them until they are two.. but you know pregnancy got in the way. As with Sati, she’s still breastfeeding and she’ll be turning 2 this November. I guess with her, we’ll do this thingy until, oh well, I don’t know. Guilty your honor..breastfeeding her is just heaven.. you know I just can’t let go of it.. the bonding, the cuddling and being that close to her. And with that motive, can you really call me an advocate?

But yeah I DO encourage a lot of people I know to breastfeed their kids exclusively. I know it’s not easy but it’s very fullfilling, believe me.. I have been there.. 1 week, 2 weeks..a whole tree of malunggay, a drum of soup.. what else? hot compress, chocolate drinks, breast massage.. everything! I experienced all those.. no support? oh yeah baby! It was hardest for my first born, I have little milk for two weeks, he’s crying and very frustrated everyday.. every time he feeds.. but I never gave up… and I am more than glad for that. And yes, people around me were not that encouraging, who would be, when all you hear all day is a tiny baby crying. I have to muster everything not to give up on pity and give him a bottle so that he would stop. Of course people around would say otherwise.. kawawa naman ang bata, iyak ng iyak, padedehin mo na kasi sa bote..

When I became pregnant with my first born, I never got the chance to choose if I will breastfeed him or give him formula.. I don’t know but it feels like, breastfeeding is the only way. Or maybe one of the reason why, was because I am stay at home mom. It’s like there is no reason why I can’t give the best food for my baby.. maybe if I was working then, it would be different.. I always thought that working and breastfeeding are two things that will never get along together.. and then\I learned I was wrong when I met Nicquee.

Nicquee is the blogger behind Pop Ups of my mind. I first met her from a breastfeeding event. We talked about breastfeeding, of course, and I was surprised to learned that she has a full time job and yet she is EXCLUSIVELY breastfeeding. Is that really possible? yes it is! And here’s a living proof, in front of me. So it really is true that exclusive breastfeeding in the formative first six months of an infant is NOT a hindrance to a mother’s professional or personal goals. That’s one of the misconception BBB wants to correct.

“Beauty, Brains & Breastfeeding Inc. (BBB), a silence-breaking organization advocating breastfeeding, says only 34 per cent of mothers in the Philippines practice exclusive feeding in the first six months of their babies. Based on UNICEF statistics, BBB also reveals that nearly half of all mothers in the country depend on artificial milk in varying degrees. The group would like to correct several misconceptions which discourage mothers with infants and young children to breastfeed — main hurdles to having all Filipino newborns properly breastfed.”

Exclusive breastfeeding is a commitment to give one’s child with life-nourishing food and a good start in life; to think of breastfeeding as only for the poor should be dismissed immediately–  so true! you know what, all my kids are very healthy… well except for an episode of Primary Complex (which they got from an adult) and not to mention brainy!

Continued breastfeeding DOES NOT cause a woman’s breasts to deform, sag or make her look haggard and unattractive– yes it does not. Shh, stop raising your eyebrows, mine’s really big to begin with 🙂 In my experience, I learned that you have to wear bra all the time, not wearing bra may cause it to sag, not breastfeeding itself.

The act of breastfeeding in public places is not an act shame and therefore should be encouraged– I was never ashamed of breastfeeding in public. Breastfeeding is a natural thing, what’s there to be ashamed of?

“To correct misconceptions, a trio of smart and beautiful women has decided to speak out and recount their empowering experiences with breastfeeding. Billboards featuring breastfeeding advocates Daphne Oseña-Paez, Patricia Bermudez-Hizon and Iza Abeja with their kids will be seen all over Metro Manila within the month to help bring their strong and timely messages to life.

According to BBB, a total of five billboards will be rolled down: three along MIA Road in Pasay City which will be launched on October 14; one in Philcoa, Quezon City; and one on the DILG Building in EDSA. A few more billboards will be up soon with sites currently in negotiation.” -BBB press release

And to help correct this misconception, why don’t we have our own version of this billboards.. uhm let’s call them BILLBLOG

This Is My Shirt Story: Black Shirt Times 3

A shirt is just a shirt not until you bond with it, not until you experienced something special while wearing it, and when that time comes, it’s no longer just a shirt anymore. It becomes a part of your life. It feels like the memories were imprinted on the shirt. And whenever you wear that shirt or see it, it brings a smile on your face or a tear in your eyes.

What is your favorite shirt? Is it the one that you wore when your boyfriend then, husband now proposed? Or is something that you wore hours before you deliver your first born? Is it the shirt you are wearing when you got your first car or the one you’re wearing when you got your first job?

For a mom like me, all my shirts are my battle gear and the memories imprinted on all those, were usually a pile of dirty laundry (thoughts while doing the laundry), a spilled milk, tantrum tears, soiled diapers and whatever antics my kids do. I can’t even remember what I was wearing when my husband proposed to me or when I gave birth to my first born. I can still recall though what I was wearing when I cried a river upon learning that I am finally having a baby girl. But that shirt, it does not have an effect on me, at all, well because the reason why I cried so hard is with me already, saying I love you and I miss you all the time..

If I have to choose one favorite shirt, I will say my black shirt is the one. I love this shirt so much because it looks really good on me. Take some lbs off my tummy and not to mention (as my first born son said) mukha akong mayamanLOL.. seriously, whenever I wear it, I feel good about my self..

There are 3 occasions in my life that I was wearing this shirt and this one best describes or summarized what my life is all about..

The Shirt and The MOMMY

I got this shirt from a thrift shop and I wore it first last March for my first born’s Recognition Day. I was wearing the shirt as a very very proud mommy. My son finished grade 1 with flying colors. He is my first born son and though we have no favoritism in the house, I have admit that my first born holds a very special place in my heart. I know a lot of moms can relate to that. First born is really special.. this is when we experienced all the first.. the first pain of labor, the first lukso ng dugo, the first happiness of being a new mom, the first hardship of being a new mom..And until now, whenever this boy reach a certain milestone in his life, I cannot help but cry.. even as trivial as blowing his birthday cake candle (sniff).. So imagine how proud I am on that special day. I told my husband that he has to be the one putting his medal on.. not me for the mere reason that if I do that, I will end up crying in the stage.. on that day my son even commented how I look mayaman on that black shirt 🙂

The second time I wore this shirt was during the Pinay Mommies Community grand EB last April. I choose to wear that shirt because as I have mentioned above, it makes me feel good. That would be my first time to meet the moms that I felt connected with, that I come to love over the course of our Facebook interactions. Part of me was afraid that they would not like me so to shake off that insecurity, I put on this very nice shirt. Coincidentally, my Mareng Ruby is also wearing a black shirt (it’s not that hard to figure that out why we all love black shirt).

The third time I wore it was during the launching of Kapuso Foundation Celebrity Ukay Ukay. It was also my first time to meet Miss Mel Tiangco and it was a very touching experience. We learned a lot of things about their foundation and how they really work hard to help people in need. During the AVP, I was deeply touched and almost cried..

Miss Mel Tiangco gave us a message that I will always remember..and here is what she said during that event:

“What the kapuso wants to offer you is for your profession, for your hobby to be a medium of public service for our people. We assure you that every single centavo would go to the kapuso classroom project. Di ba ang sarap nun, ung enjoy ka na, nag ba blog ka na, pero alam mo deep in your heart nakaktulong ka pa sa kapwa mo? At ikaw ang nagiging daan ng pagmamahal ng kapwa mo sa kapwa nya. It is really the most fulfilling thing that can happen to professional likes us. Para ka maging instrument for God’s love and an instrument to a kapwa tao na nagmamahalan.”

The three occasion where I wore this shirt represents the three most important part of me.. as a mother, as a friend and as a person who is willing to give a hand. I love this shirt so much not just because it makes me feel better, I love this shirt so much because of the memorable events that happened while I was wearing it.. I love this shirt so much but I am willing to give it up in support of Electrolux Wash-athon. This is one of my treasured shirt, but I know that through Electrolux Wash-athon this shirt will be more than a mom, a friend or a human.. I know that this with this event, the shirt will give hope and faith. And This is my Shirt Story.

I love this shirt! Now I want someone else to love it too! I support the Electrolux Wash-athon Clothes Donation Advocacy.

About Electroux Wash-athon

This typhoon season and advent of climate change, when the need forevacuation centers has been part of our society’s disaster response protocol, Electrolux Philippines is rolling out its Wash-athon clothesdonation advocacy campaign in Luzon, Cebu and Mega Manila. This year,Electrolux created the laundry mobile, which will tour Luzon, Cebu and Mega Manila to pick-up the donation and wash the clothes of those who donated. The Electrolux Wash-athon invites people to donate their clothes for the benefit of typhoon victims and other people in need. In return,Electrolux will wash the dirty clothes of those who donated!
