3 French Toast Recipes You Should Try

You love french toast? First time to hear about it? Wag kang mag alala, you are not alone. Is it a FRENCH food gaya ng french fries? They call it lost bread in Europe. Ito yung mga tinapay na wala ng buhay kaya binigyan ng panibagong kulay. Ano daw? Basically, yung tinapay na malapit na amagin, lalagyan ng gatas at itlog atsaka ipiprito. What’s the best French Toast recipe? MADAMI! But I am going to share just 3 🙂

Let’s start with the basic French Toast but we are going to use condensed milk instead of plain milk:

  • a pack condensed milk (ito yung naka box na Alasaka ha)
  • 3-4 pcs egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • isang kurot na asin (yung pino ha)

Mix all ingredients then soak the bread quickly. Yung mabilis pa sa sweldo mong hindi man lang uminit sa palad mo ha. Fry this and eat! Or pede mo i freezer pag ka prito mo then iinit sa oven.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • â…› tsp nutmeg
  • 4 slices bread, cut into 1-inch thick strips (I used the raisin loaf that’s shaped like a baguette bought at French Baker)
  • 1 cup crushed Corn Flakes
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Maple syrup, for dippings

How to cook Corn Flakes-Crusted French Toast Sticks:

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Put crushed corn flakes in a plate for dredging.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together, eggs, milk, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  4. Working one at a time, dip the bread strips into the egg mixture, then dredge in the crushed Corn Flakes, pressing to coat.
  5. Add the bread strips to the skillet, 3-4 at a time, and cook until evenly golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Serve immediately with maple syrup.

O this one naman it includes BAKING!! Here’s a French Toast recipe from At Home With Mrs C.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups torn up bread
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 tbsp vanilla
  • For The Topping
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease the bottom and sides of a 9×9″ glass baking pan with butter or cooking spray. Arrange the torn bread pieces in the pan.
  • In a bowl, make a custard by whisking together the milk, eggs, sugars and vanilla.
  • Pour custard over the bread, making sure that each piece is moistened. Refrigerate and allow to soak. You can actually prepare ahead up to this point and let the casserole soak overnight.
  • Prepare The Topping
    • Combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in a bowl.
    • Mash cold butter into the dry ingredients using a fork to form pebbles.
    • Sprinkle the topping over the soaked bread.
  • Bake Uncovered For
    • 30-35 minutes if you want a soft and squishy consistency, 40-45 minutes if you want your French toast to be more firm.

Where to Buy Christmas Decors in Manila

Christmas is just around the corner. Oh let me rephrase that, CHRISTMAS IS HERE. I know it just November but Christmas here in the Philippines comes really early. IN fact, as the clock strikes 12 AM on September 1, Christmas sons can already be heard. Sept 1 is officially the first day of Christmas here in our country! And I know as early as August, some people are already asking Where to Buy Christmas Decors in Manila.

Where to Buy Christmas Decors in Manila

I am not an early decorator, I must confess. I also love Halloween so I usually save October to first week of November for Halloween. Though I don’t really decorate for Halloween, there is always a slim chance that I might! And since Halloween is over and Undas break is over too, kids are all in school again, I think it is just high time to start decorating or planning!

So I have been thinking lately, Where to Buy Christmas Decors in Manila? Is there a one stop shop for Christmas decors here in Metro Manila? I believe there is none, I mean it’s that going on each and every store looking for the perfect decors is what it’s all about di ba? The excitement of finding something that is unique and speaks to you. So I am giving you this list of top 5 places Where to Buy Christmas Decors in Manila.

Where to Buy Christmas Decors in Manila

Dapitan Arcade for Christmas Village. This is the top place to go when you are looking for home decors. Christmas pa yan o anuman. Kung may mall of asia, ito naman ang home decor store of asia. So of course, this is top on my list.

This is the best place to look for Christmas Village in Manila. Sobrang daming choices, different materials, different sizes, and different prices.

Aside from Christmas village, Dapitan is also known for native decors and novelty items. If you are looking for Christmas lanterns and dont want to travel to Pampanga, Dapitan Arcade is a must!

SM Department Store for Christmas theme inspiration. I know it’s quite amusing that I am adding SM Department store in my list, considering that, Christmas decors at SM can be a bit expensive.. pero, when it comes to ideas and themes, panalo ang SM! If you have no idea what theme you want, go to SM. They literally have everything. Yung akala mong maganda na ang pink Christmas tree, magugulat ka, mas maganda pala ang all white. The Christmas decor section at SM Department store (specially Megamall) is full of not just Christmas decors but inspiration! Also, best place to buy Christmas lights kase assured ka sa quality.

Divisoria for Christmas Tree. Yes and yes and yes. The Christmas Tree I bought from Divi is still up and running er standing and it’s 5 years old na. forgive me if I can’t remember how much my tree was but natatandaan ko ang mura ng bili compared sa mall. Where to buy? Wag sa mga malls sa Divi. Huwag din sa mga gilid gilid ng kalsada ha. GO at the back part, sa likod ng dating Divi Mall and look for stalls selling Christmas Trees.

PRO TIP: Mag canvass ka muna! And start shopping now bago pa mag December.

Shopwise for cheap Christmas balls. I love Shopwise for the very reason na feeling ko wise shopper ako every time I shop there. Christmas decors there are really cheap. I noticed from my Shopwise Alabang visit, mas marami na silang decors ngayon ha and the price is still affordable. I also do my last minute Christmas house wares shopping at Shopwise, every year!

Landers Superstore for REAL Christmas tree and decors from US. No doubt about that. You can really buy a REAL CHRISTMAS TREE from Landers. Kinda expensive though para sa mga gaya naming dukha but I am sure there are those who appreciates real Christmas tree. Christmas decors from Landers are really unique and you won’t find it malls or department stores. Sa Landers lang! How to be a Landers member? Check membership requirement here.

I am planning to visit Dapitan Arcade soon and will definitely VLOG about it! When is the best time to buy Christmas decors? NOW! Too late sa December, discounted nga kaso halos ubos na ang stocks.

5 Things to Love About The New Shopwise Alabang

Shopwise Alabang recently launched its new look and I was there to witness it! Ang daming naka promo for Shopwise 20th Anniversary but let’s not talk about the promo and discounts kase nasa VLOG ko na yun. Watch my VLOG!

Let’s talk about the new look of Shopwise Alabang. I am impressed… really impressed, comparing this to other Shopwise branches, ang laki talaga ng pagbabago.

Here are the 5 things to love about the new Shopwise Alabang:

The new Shopwise Alabang is well lit. Pwede na mag selfie everywhere. Kidding aside, I really love the lighting of the new Shopwise Alabang. It brightens up the mood and makes my shopping experience happy. Alam mo yung feeling na pagpasok mo ng grocery magaan yung pakiramdam mo, that’s how I felt when I went inside Shopwise Alabang.

The new Shopwise Alabang aisle is really big. Two carts can fit in at the same time. No traffic considering na ang dami namimili sa Shopwise.

The new Shopwise is well organized. I love the fact that there’s a specific area for each needs. Gaya ng mga household needs na hindi consumable, plates and the likes, they are placed on one side, adjacent to the appliances. May flow and I really like it. Veggies and fruits comes together and then a few steps away from that area is the seafood and meat section naman. For a mom who live big and is always on the go, it really helps talaga pag well organized ang pupuntahan mo na grocery and that it is a one stop shop. All you need for your house, you can find in Shopwise.

Dinning area is big. Shopwise is truly the place where moms can go as this is a one-stop-shop for all your household needs! There is even a dining area and it’s big and with many food options. Good place to hang out sa mga tweens and teens while mom is doing the grocery.

Superb Shopwise experience. This is what I love most about the new Shopwise Alabang, that even though nag renovate sila, the feeling of getting most out of your money, of being a wise shopper is still there kase yung mga promos and good deals are still displayed at the center na mas madali makita.

Even after renovation, and its interiors looking classier and more modern than before, Shopwise stays true to their commitment to give an enhanced shopping experience for their shoppers in addition to their best deals and offerings.

Check out the new Shopwise Alabang to see and expereince this for yourself. Don’t forget to download your WiseApp before shopping.
