How To Clean A Rug

Rug or carpet is a nice addition to any home. It adds beauty and style but rugs can be very expensive and hard to maintain. If you own a rug, it is very important that you know the basics of cleaning a rug.

To keep your rug looking good and clean, it is advised to vacuum it twice a month or more frequent if you have kids or a pet that shreds. When you vacuum your carpet, make sure that you vacuum both sides, vacuum the top side first, then the back side and vacuum the top side again.

When there’s a spill or a stain in your rug, make sure to clean it immediately. Don’t let the stains or the spills dried out as it would be harder to remove it. If it is a water spill, use a clean dry cotton cloth and blot the spill carefully. Do not rub the spill as this can damage your carpet. If the spill comes from milk, make sure that you clean it with a mild detergent and water to prevent it from smelling bad.

If your carpet was wet from the flood or if the rug stain or spill was too big, bring it immediately to an expert rug cleaning company.

Grocery Finds: Milo Freebies + Chicago Mix Popcorn + Ice Cream Maker

Happy Monday everyone! Let’s start our week with happy thoughts.. and some grocery finds:

Milo Freebies! Free canister for every 1Kg Milo.. it’s a perfect pair.. the canister can hold up to 1Kg Milo.. We already have two and the other one, I use their Milk. Aside from its big capacity, the container can be closed tightly, a big advantage specially that ants are everywhere!

Chicago Mix Popcorn! When hubby received a can of Chicago Mix Popcorn (Chicago Popcorn Shops), we went loco over this mix! Caramel Popcorn and Cheese Popcorn in one container.. the sweetness and the saltiness jives so well.. it’s mouthwatering! I spend a few hours looking for Chicago Popcorn Shops stall in Shangrila EDSA but to no avail.. the nearest I can get is at Trinoma.. which is not my area. I tried a few Chef Tony’s popcorn to satisfy that cravings but it was not just the same..

Then I found this!

On our way home from La Union, we stopped by at Shell of Asia and this big bag of popcorn caught my eyes! Ayayay! Chicago Mix for the win! This bag is contains 700+ grams of popcorn at PhP500+. It’s not as good as Chicago Popcorn Shops’ Chicago Mic but this will do.. until I can find a CPS stall near us (opppps..heard there’s one in Megamall now!!!! ayayay!)

Ice Cream maker (Popsicle Maker) from Saizen in Robinsons Galleria. Perfect for the kids this summer! And yesterday they made a mango ice cream using Mango powdered juice..later today, we’ll be having Milo Popsicle!

My Secret Weapon

secret talaga na? tapos i ba blog?!? hehehe

It’s not a weapon of mass destruction, more like a weapon for mass eating LOL

Having four kids and one demanding (VERY!) work online (akala nyo husband no hehe) left me with little time to do household chores and cook.. good thing I have a part time helper who comes here every afternoon..but still I have breakfast and lunch to prepare to.. For me, that’s the most tedious part of cooking.. the preparations.. peel here, peel there, cut here, mince there..ayayay! ang hectic! for dinner, my helper does all the preparations, ang peg ko nyan chef lang… gisa-gisa lang, talbog talbog lang.. walang hiwa hiwa.. but breakfast and lunch?!?

Then I discovered a weapon! Keri na magluto kahit tatlong menu!

McCormich Minced Garlic.. the only reason I bought this is for fried rice.. always wondered why fastfood’s garlic rice are so perfect.. tiny buds of garlic, well roasted! ayayay! and so this is the secret! And it cooks very fast… as in in seconds! Since I bought this, cooking fried rice is a breeze! No need to peel and mince garlic and the taste is equally good..

Then I learned, I can also use it on my dishes.. pag tamad ang peg, wala ng onion, garlic lang solve na! It actually lessens my time in the kitchen to almost half.. and that means more time for my kids and my blogs 🙂

I bought this big jar at SM Hypermarket for around 600 PhP.. been using this for more than 3 months already, sulit talaga!
