The Importance of a Clean Environment for Children

A recent study of little children’s living environment showed that children lived in less-than-hygienic conditions. More than that, children are given the wrong type of food. Instead of making children some good homemade food, almost a majority of them are being fed processed food. Most of these children are surprisingly from good-income families. Ironic indeed, as good-income families have the power to make good choices. They obviously don’t need Payday One loans to feed their children.

The study attributed the cause to the lack of quality parenting. Parents were either ignorant or lacked literacy. Another cause was the fact that most parents could not cook for their children and instead relied on processed food. Now coming to a hygienic and clean home; keeping one such home is relatively inexpensive. The most common approach to keep a floor clean is to wash it with a mixture of bleach and warm water.

The beds that children sleep on are safe as well as dangerous. Children often tend to stand up on them with their shoes. Zillions of bacteria are transmitted to the bed. And these are the same beds that children sleep on. So you can imagine the kind of bacteria that might have gotten into the children. That’s why it is important to change bedsheets every day. It pays to have clean bedsheets for children.

Keep playing zones separate. Agreed, children are playful and might cross over to other areas to play. But with time and effort, children could be made to understand. By segregating playing zones with other living areas, a lot of hygienic conditions can be created. First, unhealthy stuff from outside does not enter the house. Second, children have the license to play as much and as dirty as they want, provided they wash themselves up before entering the other areas in the house.

Report Cards Are In

Err, that was two weeks ago. A pending post this is.. The thing is, I am happy and contented on what their report cards show. They got plus one or two on their grades, and that’s without a tutor and a almost two weeks of missing class dues to mumps. I guess it helped a lot that I was the one teaching them or tutoring them. They say they want it that way. Mommy do some work sheet for them and they answer it. The easiest way for me was to photocopy their books and let them answer it again. It’s a bit tiring to cut the pictures though but it’s all worth it. So this coming third quarter, I will be more ready than the last quarter and hopefully by then we will meet our goal of no line of 8 grade (1 more subject to go.. woot!)
