What my kids are like, and how to raise your child/children in this day and age.

Costumes. Costumes. Costumes

Costumes is my most favorite sewing piece.. Well, it stretches my imagination and imperfections are always part of the costume. And a few more days before the Halloween, I am sure most moms are trying t0 figure out what costumes their kids will want to wear.
Kids depending on their ages wears different costume. For most girls below 7 years old, they want princess costumes, fairy costumes and the likes. Girls ages 7 above goes for character, so don’t get shocked when your kid wants to be Sunshine Corazon (Glee, complete with big eyeglasses and headset singing Telephone). Orwhen she suddenly starts imitating Hannah Montana husky voice (yayayay!).
For the boys, you would notice that once they knew how to speak, you can no longer force them to wear a cute pumpkin costume or a polka dot, bug costume (or even a very black and yellow Bumble Bee costume). They want to be ghost, monster, alien and the likes. They would not stop from telling you to buy them a ghost pirate costume, a weird looking alien costume or even a monster mask just to pass up as a monster. Some would even want to pass up as a treasure hunter, and they would never stop until you buy them Nikon binoculars or any binoculars as a prop. And some would even insist that they be a Mario or a Luigi.

The Omnitrix

So what is really Omnitrix? (from wiki)

The Omnitrix is the mysterious watch-like alien device that allows the user to transform into various alien forms by combining the DNA of the selected alien with the user’s own DNA, effectively turning them into the alien species the user has selected. The alien form is selected by unlocking the control dial, turning the control dial to the desired alien species which is displayed on the Omnitrix’s display, then pressing the control dial back into place completing the transformation. The alien DNA also seems to contain some aspects of the original aliens’ personality; when questioned how it felt to be an alien, Ben described it as follows: “It kinda freaked me out at first. It was like I was me…but it was also like I was somebody else.”

The Omnitrix was originally created by Azmuth (a Galvan like Greymatter) to allow the people of the universe a way to “walk in someone else’s shoes”. However, many beings saw the Omnitrix’s abilities as something that could be used as a powerful weapon—,most prominently the villain Vilgax who claims it to be the most powerful weapon in the galaxy. Fearing that people might misuse the Omnitrix for this very reason, Azmuth put several safeguards in place to ensure that whoever used the Omnitrix would not have full access to its powers. Several of these safeguards include transforming into an alien different from the one that is selected on the control dial, the ten minute auto time-out, the restriction of only ten accessible aliens, and a self-destruct mechanism. However, these safeguards are disabled once the Master Control for the Omnitrix is unlocked, which is apparently done by a random combination of selections on the control dial. Once the Master Control is unlocked, the user can stay in their alien form indefinitely and is also able to switch between alien forms at will just by thinking about it, speaking the name its user has given any alien, or turning the badge with the Omnitrix insignia on it.

In addition to the aliens that were pre-programmed into the Omnitrix’s DNA sequencer by Azmuth, the Omnitrix also possess the ability to absorb DNA samples from other alien species by simply coming into contact with them, effectively downloading a DNA sample and allowing access to that form.

Well to me, Omnitrix is as simple as a birthday gift that will make the kids super happy.

OK moms and dads.. say it with me OM – NIT- RIX.. it’s not amitrics, animetirics, omistrics, it’s OM – NIT- RIX

A Birthday Party!

My first born will be celebrating his birthday on Sunday. And it does not only serves as 7th birthday but also as my 7th year of being a mommy. To make his party more memorable, we are going to have two small celebration. One is with his classmates tomorrow. It so happens that the last day of the first quarter exam will be tomorrow. It will be a nice treat for him and his classmates.

The other celebration will be here at home, for his friends (about 10 kids). Good thing that I don’t have to buy special occasion dresses since the party will be held here. You know my kids, anything that involves spaghetti and hotdog means party. Actually anything that involves eating is party. We over use that word. Party! Party!
