Anything mommy blogger related here. This features blog events coverage. This blog also publish press release and write ups. Tips and tutorials on how to be an effective blogger.

This also include a list of top mommy blog in the Philippines.

In addition, here is the 5 SIMPLE STEPS TO BE A MOMMY BLOGGER:

1. Create a blog name that will represent you as a mommy blog. Sometimes it's good to include the noun mommy or mother or nanay.

2. Create an email the same as your blog name for branding purpose, in other words, for identification. After that, you can proceed to step 3 which is actually one of the most challenging part.

3. Open a blog. It has been debated for so many times which is the best blogging platform to use. For starters, I usually recommend blogspot because it is free. On the other han, if you are ready to shell out money, wordpress org is the best.

4. Design your blog. This sound like an easy task to do, it is actually, however, it can be very time consuming. The number of free templates for a blog is endless. To help you decide, set your blog tone and color. Will it be a dark themed blog? Light? What will be the primary colors? And from there, searching will be easier.

5. Lastly and most importantly, Start writing. The best way to start this is to introduce yourself. Likewise, you can also create a list of why you started a mommy blog. Or you can mention top 10 things that you would want your future readers to know about you.

Safeguard Celebrates 5th Global Hand washing Day

This year marks the 5th year of Global Handwashing Day. This is celebrated every October 15 to promote handwashing by soap, which has been proven to be most and inexpensive way to prevent  diarrhea.

There are 5 critical moments that you NEED to wash your hands:

  • before eating
  • before handling food
  • after using the toilet
  • after handling pets
  • after playtime

This year, Safeguard is once again on the front line in celebration of Global handwashing day. To better promote handwashing with soap after playtime (one of the critical moments), Safeguard donated 5 playgrounds with handwashing station, the one in Sitio Una Taguig being the first.

Mr. Chad Sotelo, Country Marketing Manager for Safeguard, explains, “Outdoor play is an enjoyable activity for children but it is also important in their development.” However, based on a recent study, many mothers prevent their children from playing outdoors because they are worried about their children’s safety. Furthermore, 75 percent of children play on the streets while only 3 percent play on a public playground.

“Through the donation of these playgrounds, Safeguard wants to enable children to play in an environment safe from harm and disease-causing germs,” says Mr. Sotelo. In order to ensure that the playgrounds are sustainable and safe, Safeguard partnered with play experts Play Pilipinas.

“We at Play Pilipinas believe that every child should be given the chance to play, and to play in a safe and sound environment. Our advocacy is to provide low-cost, sustainable, and child-safe playgrounds for Filipino children. We are happy to have a partner in Safeguard that ensures kids will also have immediate access to soap and water after playing,” says Ms. Sigrid Perez, co-founder of Play Pilipinas.

Mr. Paul Perez, who co-founded Play Pilipinas with Sigrid, explains that the design of the playground differs per site, reflecting the character of the city. “For Taguig, we tried to mirror the emerging high-rises and so the playground has high and low spaces as well,” added Mr. Perez.

This new playground at Sitio Una, and 4 others to come, will represent not only the past 5 years of Global Handwashing Day, but also Safeguard’s continued commitment to promote proper hygiene and health education for many more years to come. “Handwashing education is and will continue to be the primary advocacy of Safeguard – not just on October 15, but every single day,” says Mr. Sotelo. Together with partners UNICEF and Fit for School, Procter & Gamble, through Safeguard, has reached over a million children in ten provinces in the country, teaching them the lifesaving habit of handwashing with soap.

Safeguard invites everyone to join our 5th year of Global Handwashing Day in the Philippines. Join the celebration by tweeting with the hashtag #Happy5thGHD. Watch out for more activities from Safeguard in the coming weeks. But, most importantly, don’t forget to wash your hands

Say Hello To C-lium Online Ambassadors

The C-Lium online Ambassadors together with Art Mendoza, taken at Medicard Lifestyle Center, a few hours (or minutes) before our final rampa err journey.

So what really happened that day? Your good lucks with the heels made it easier haha

We were at the venue hours before the program starts, you know hair and make up and styling. C-lium made sure that we are at our prettiest (or handsomest in case of the men bloggers) on our final journey. Starting with hair and make up, clothes courtesy of SM Ladies Fashion and styling courtesy of Tipping Point Collective. Here’s how I look and what I wore:

Bagay sa akin ang curls no? but the dress I was wearing was not from SM.. lahat kase ng dala nila plus size.. at hindi na ako plus size! The dress I was wearing is MEDIUM! (talagang sinigaw no? haha)

And as we wait for our turn, I heard that  US Certified Fitness Nutritionist and Weight Coach Nadine Tengco explained how fiber helps people lose excess weight. She even demonstrated how to make “Sunrise Smoothie” – a psyllium infused drink. Sayang di ko napanood paano gawin ung Sunrise Smoothie 🙂

Our final rampa started with me (ako talaga di ba.. pede naman ung iba LOL) and each of one us 14 C-lium Online Ambassadors walked on the stage with a few clips about our journey:

After that, the winners of our Lose More, Live More Blogger’s Edition were announced:

Mauie Flores of The 24-Hour Mommy for biggest drop in blood sugar level.. You can read about her journey on her blog: The 24 Hour Mommy C-Lium Journey. She’s a type II diabetes by the way and during the journey she did not took any medicine for her sugar, her sugar drop comes from using C-lium.

Allan of Running Free Manila for the biggest drop in cholesterol level and Azrael of Azrael’s Merryland for most weight loss. Each of them received a 6 months supply of C-lium plus cellphone from Medicard.

Announced during the program was the winners of C-lium’s Lose More. Live More promo, 10 winners recieved 10,ooo PhP each:

ay kasali pala ako don! hahaha Here’s the complete list:

As for me.. behind the curls and the sexy black dress (sexy daw oh!) the biggest thing that happened to me a significant drop on my triglycerides.. I am really thankful for C-lium and I can just imagine how much more I can lose as I continue to use C-lium 🙂

I’m a c-lium user and will always be one *wink

————-

If you want to try C-lium (and I think you should!) here’s a good deal from Ensogo: Lose more and live more with C-Lium Fibre in a 600g Refill Pouch (valued at P950) for only P475

Scotch-Brite™ Clean Up Project @ UP – PGH Cancer Institute

After the Clean Up Project at West Rembo Elementary School, Scotch-Brite™ once again, invited me to join their next  Clean Up Project. It was held in UP- PGH, a place I was not familiar with. Trusting the PR agency and the Scotch-Brite™ team, I knew this will be as much fun ad fulfilling as the last cleaning project I attended.

As always, the PR agency provided a shuttle service (now that’s what good PR agency is all about!) fr us. Arriving at UP-PGH is so surreal.. You know feeling of too much emotions? That’s how exactly I felt on that place. The aura is too depressing and I am glad Scotch-Brite™ chose this place for their clean up project. A little sweeping and sanitation here and there can make a big difference.

The Cancer Institute was closed during the clean up project. Part of the project was the donation of brand new Scotch-Brite™ cleaning tools courtesy of 3M Philippines to help the cancer facility sustain its maintenance and cleanliness policies and practices. The donated cleaning tools included outdoor gloves, furniture cloth, mops, mop wringer bucket, among many others.

“We at 3M are committed to help provide people with cleaner, brighter environments. We believe that the best way to achieve this is to give them efficient and high-quality cleaning tools that our Scotch-Brite™ brand is known for. Helping the staff of the UP-PGH Cancer Institute implement their regular general cleaning is a great opportunity for us and our employees to see this commitment through,” said Darwin Florendo, Home Care Division Head of 3M Philippines.
