Johnson’s Baby Bedtime Routine

So you know now how important sleep to our kids eh? If not, why don’t you CLICK HERE and learn how a a good night sleep can produce 3x more growth hormones and less stress for us (that’s the best right?).

And yes, the routine, the solution to our bedroom battle.. It is so easy and so fun to do.. for sure you will love this routine and will look forward to it everyday… and your kids will have the benefit of growing bigger and growing closer to your.

Johnson’s Baby Bedtime Routine has 3 steps.

Step 1 Warm Bath

Using JOHNSON´S® Baby Bedtime Bath, set the mood by giving the baby a warm bath. I this routine will be established, it will indicate or it will be a sign that it is already their bedtime. A warm bath can relax their body and you too can enjoy this by being a bit playful to your kid. If you are not sure how warm the water should be, try testing the water using your elbow. If it is too hot for your elbow, then it is too hot for the kids.

Step 2 A soothing massage

JOHNSON´S® Baby Bedtime Baby Lotion is your partner on this step. This is my favorite step because it gives us more bonding time. The kids love it when I massage them and I think it also gives them assurance that their mommy love them so much.

You can also use JOHNSON´S® Baby Oil for this step.

CLICK HERE for a complete instruction on how to make your massage time, a happy time.

Step 3 Quiet Time

So after massaging your baby, you can put JOHNSON´S® Baby Powder before sharing a quiet moment. After that, you can read them stories or sing a soft music to them. Me and my kids love to cuddle and as they fall asleep.

And if you are like me who thinks we should give our babies a better sleep, why don’t you support the online advocacy and place the I am a believer badge on your sidebar:

It is good to know that we, moms, are doing the best for our kids, believe now!

Bedtime Stories: Sleep 101

This is the second part of my post about JOHNSON’S® Baby Bedtime Discoveries: Bedtime A to Zzz’s.

Experts devote time to study the science of sleep. Yes, sleep is now a science too. It has been proven that our body releases growth hormones while we are sleeping. Kids most especially need the best sleep possible for their growth. While the kids are sleeping, their body can produce up to 3x growth hormones, but is always dependent on how peaceful and the amount of time the baby is asleep.

First let us look on the Science of Sleep and what happens as we close our eyes and drift off to la la land. Sleep has two stages. The NREM and REM. Mammals and birds are the only creature that experience this stages of sleep. Both has distinct physiological and neurological characteristics.

REM or Rapid Eye Movement is another sleep stage where it is characterized by rapid eye movement. Dreams that are vividly recalled by a person usually happens during this stage . REM compromises 20% to 25% of total adult’s sleep time. In infant though, REM contributes 80% to their total sleep time.

NREM or Non Rapid Eye Movement stage compromises 75% to 80% of our sleep time. It is divided into stages, each stages having a distinct characteristic One stage that we are familiar is when we dream of being in a near death situation and we can’t breathe or we can’t move. This happens because our muscles starts to relax but our mind is still half conscious of our environment. After that stage our body and mind enters the deep sleep stage.

And during this time or just when a baby entered deep sleep stage, the highest amount of growth hormones are released. So if your has a better and deeper sleep, the MORE growth hormones are released! And what you must know, growth hormones are at its best production stage during the early life. The best gift you can give to your baby is to maximize the release of growth hormones on her body and that is by providing her a better and deeper sleep.

So how much sleep does the kid needs?

Although every kid has different needs, below are some guidelines on how much sleep a kid need:

If your kid’s sleep stat is close to the above stats, rest assured as your baby i getting enough sleep, but if not, you certainly need to help your kids attain a good night sleep. So what can we do?

First let us define what is a GOOD NIGHT SLEEP. so I would like to share with you The ABC of Better Baby Sleep.

A regular bedtime routine
Be in bed before 9PM
Children should fall to sleep on their own.

It is very interesting to note how a bedtime routine can reduce the lenght of time needed to fall sleep. It can also reduced the times the baby awakes at night and even so the time needed to make the baby sleep again. The best part about it is baby’s sleep time increased and Mom’s anxiety and tension reduced to more than 50%!

Think about it moms, an increased in our baby’s sleep and reduced stress for us. And if you think I am just blabbing, go on and CLICK HERE for the more detailed explanations.

As for the routine, we till have Friday for that! See yah!

Bedtime Stories

Last November, I was invited to attend the JOHNSON’S® Baby Bedtime Discoveries: Bedtime A to Zzz’s, unfortunately I missed the event. I just gave birth to Sati and we still have no means of transpo that time. I envy those who got to experience and learned about the Johnson’s Bedtime Routine. I am quite familiar with the product as I have seen it on commercials and I have been using it already. What I want to know is this thing they called Science of Sleep. I also want to learn more about how Johnson’s Bedtime routine can help my kids grow.

Boy, I was lucky! Another JOHNSON’S® Baby Bedtime Discoveries: Bedtime A to Zzz’s
invite I received last week (or last last week), and this time we can attend it! And what’s more, I can bring my two kiddos along as I cannot leave Sati behind bec she is breastfed and I cannot bring just her bec Chico might get jealous, there. Fedhz also said she will come along. What a great way to spend the weekend. A new discoveries and bonding time with my marce.

So it happened. Saturday. Ascott Residences (Japan room). 9:00 AM

I was late, as usual. The event already started when we arrived, I can say that it was the “warming up” moment . Mommies wearing slippers and chatting while munching on pizza and brownies. The program started and was delighted to see Tintin Bersola hosting the event. She is due today and still able to grace the event with her hosting. Oh guys, you must check out her parenting site, PARENTINtv (where I am a member of). One of the coolest and hippest and the first Filpino parenting online show.

Dr Luis Rivera shared with us the importance of sleep and how can a good night sleep will help our baby grow. (which I will post on Wednesday.. a lengthy one and will try to make it as informative as how Dr Rivera discussed it to us). And also, we were taught on how to make our baby’s sleep better through Johnson’s Bedtime Routine (which deserve another post here).

It was a fun filled event. I got the chance to meet bloggers that I only knew through emails and their site. I met Beth of All About Elizabeth and Levy of Living Life To The Fullest. I was surprised that Tetcha of Pensive Thoughts was there too. I also met a lot of wonderful people there.

Hmm what else? ahh pics? yeah…
