URC “Flourish Pilipinas Bake It Happen” Nationwide Baking Competition 2016

So yesterday, ~~I attended a baking competition~~ I joined a baking competition. Not really much into baking (alam nyo yan) eh it’s for fun lang naman e, so sige na nga. Here’s what happened during the URC Flourish Pilipinas Bake it happen Baking Competition 2016 Media Edition:

O di baaaaa.. not really much into baking daw pero nanalo.. nadaan sa frosting! I really enjoyed this event kase talaga naman favorite portion ko ang pag fo frosting. AYUN! Yun pala reason why I am not much into baking. Feeling ko kase hindi ko na e express ang creativity ko with baking.. at kaya gustong gusto ko mag frost. Alam nyo na, design design ba.

O di ba?!? Ang ganda pa nung whipped cream na ginamit namin! Ang stiff pero hindi masyadong matamis.. gusto ko tooo at ngayong gusto ko na rin mag- aral mag bake! Haalaaa!

Universal Robina Corporation (URC) Flour, one of the country’s top flour millers, is challenging culinary arts students to showcase their bread and cake making skills in the Flourish Pilipinas Bake it Happen Nationwide Baking Competition 2016.

To join the competition, Culinary Arts or Hotel and Management course students are encouraged to submit original recipes in the Bread or Cakes categories.

Baked creations should incorporate a non- functional ingredient and make use of any of the URC flour brands:

Blend 100 Flour
Continental All- Purpose Flour
Daisy Cake Flour
FibrA+ Whole Wheat Flour
Globe First- Class Flour
My Rose Soft Flour
Sampaguita Flour

Trophies, certificates, and more than P300,00 worth of prizes await the winners while regional grand champions will also receive internships with one of the country’s prestigious hotels, the Crowne Plza Hotel and a feature in Yummy Magazine.

Oster Mini Raclette Grill Review

This is my first time to use a raclette grill. I don’t even know what raclette means (opps!). According to the dictionary, Raclette is a dish made by heating a piece of cheese (or raclette is the cheese used in making the dish). Melted cheese, let’s just simplify it. So that’s what the 4 mini pans are for!

Before the giveaway, let me just say how fun our mini party was!

It was a blast. I just won the “Best Mommy” award from my kids hahahaha

Room for improvements:

Burger size> we used a quarter pounder, better to use a smaller burger
Overcooked eggs> We forgot!
Melting cheese> we’re going to try another brand of cheese.

Jollibee Adobo Flakes Yum Burger and Jollibee Halo-Halo Sundae Review

I got to know Jollibee Limited Edition Pinoy Favorites (Jollibee Adobo Flakes Yum Burger and Jollibee Halo-Halo Sundae) from TV. Syempre curios ang lola nyo.. kase limited edition eh.

And mura pa naman, so when we had the chance, takbo agad sa pinakamalapit na Jollibee for our z and Jollibee Halo-Halo Sundae Review.

So we ordered both but habang nasa pila ako, I was tempted to order chickenjoy! Si ate kase na nasa unahan ng pila, chickenjoy order nya… parang ang lutong lutong ng chicken skin! But no!! FOCUS! FOCUS!

The first to arrive is the Jollibee Halo-Halo Sundae…

I really like it!! It’s really sweet at masarap talaga! I was actually expecting a halo halo with crushed iced and topped with sundae. I was not expecting it to be pure sundae eh.

It’s a bit salty pero if you pair it with coke na maraming ice, saktong sakto sya. Actually it’s good din with the halo halo. The sweetness of the halo halo balances the saltiness of the adobo flakes.

All in all, natuwa naman kameng mag nanay sa Jollibee Adobo Flakes Yum Burger and Jollibee Halo-Halo Sundae that we ordered.

Will I order it again?!? Of course! Huwag lang ako matemp sa chikenjoy! haha
