Bed Inspirations From OUR HOME To Our Home

When Uratex posted this photo for their Sleep Redefined event at SM Megamall, I knew right away I had to check out the display:

This is the kind of bed that I want for our home! Decided na yan that we’re going to buy Uratex mattress, what we’re planning na lang is the bed frame. I want a bed na may hotel feel eh. And this bed frame looks like it can give the hotel feel I am looking for.

The exhibit was located at Atrium, and oh may gulay, I saw another bed frame that I like! Take a look:

The bed frames are all affordable, less than 30K PhP for a queen sized bed. As for the mattress, they recommend at least 11 inches thick which was around 20K- 30K PhP.

I fell in love with this one, kase it has drawers and a removable side table! And from all the 3 beds displayed, eto daw pinaka OK because it is locally made.

Close up photo of the headboard… I am still deciding though if I want this or leather.

The staff from the exhibit told me that these mala hotel bed frames are available at Our Home. It is located beside Toy Kingdom (strategic placing Megamall ha!). So before my sundo pick me up, I hurried at Our Home and check their bed collections.

This is nice too! Kaya lang I am concerned with all the dust the headboard will collect. If this has been leather, mas OK sana. What I like about this set is the bedding! Although all white ang gusto kong i peg for our bedroom, I can’t help but like the small hint of colors on this bedding set.

And I discovered that there is bedding line that’s called Hotel Living! I am going to check their collections one of these days, sana naman hindi mala 5 star hotel ang presyo.

Medyo nakakaloka pala to look around on this area of Megamall.. lalo if you’re a new homeowner. Kung pwede ko lang iuwi lahat, specially this L shaped sala set and all the tropical throw pillows on it:

We’re still not on the buying process pa naman, pero it’s better to take a look na at home essentials shops di ba? Do you have any store suggestion that I can go? But please, not Crate and Barrel! LOL

Sensodyne Mouthwash and #SayNoToNgilo “Great Little Moments” Campaign

Ngayon ko lang nalaman that 9 out 10 Filipinos suffer from pangingilo. I occasionally suffer from that but I have learned to endure that.. tiis tiis or huwag uminom or kumain ng mga bagay na nakakangilo, one is cold water! Eh sa init ng panahon lately, how can you resist a glass of super cold water? I can’t, kaya sorry muna sa ngipin ko 🙁 That “Great Little Moments” like of drinking cold water, I can’t even enjoy with pangingilo no?

That’s why during the GSK Fights to Stop Teeth Sensitivity with “Great Little Moments” Campaign and new Mouthwash Launch, when we were asked to upload our very own #SayNoToNgilo moment, I posted this one:

A true epitome of enjoying life’s “Great Little Moment”! And we won the contest for that day! COOL! I seldom won contest, alam nyo yan, and when it happens, bongga talaga! Remember Electrolux event? This time, the price is a buffet voucher for 2 at Circles, Shangrila Makati, made more bongga because, as we went up the stage to receive the award (together with Donna), guess who helped me? Sensodyne endorser, Luis Manzano, nonetheless!

eh look at my arms, parang na twist yata ng husto ni Luis! LOL

The Sensodyn  “Great Little Moments” campaign encourages consumers to enjoy their “Great Little Moments” like they used to now that they are free from sensitivity. And tocomplement its dental care line and help promote the expert sensitivity regimen, Sensodyne now introduces its new mouthwash that gives not only the benefits of your regular mouthwash but also pangingilo relief.

According to Dr. Rannier Reyes of the Philippine Periodontal Society, “Having sensitive teeth can mean anything from getting a mild twinge to having severe discomfort that can last for several hours. It can also be an early warning sign of more serious dental problems.”

Sensitive teeth occurs when the layer of enamel becomes thin and exposes the softer dentine underneath. This soft layer makes up the inner part of the tooth leading to the tooth’s nerve center and triggers the pain you feel.

Other things that can cause sensitive teeth are:

  • Brushing too hard or using a hard bristled toothbrush
  • Teeth grinding
  • Gingivitis (gum disease)
  • Receding Gums

Last year, GlaxoSmithKline, the makers of Sensodyne, the #1 sensitivity toothpaste in the Philippines which is also recommended by dentists, spearheaded the “Say No to Ngilo” advocacy where dentists, consumers and Sensodyne came together to enjoin everyone to heed the call to take action to no longer endure the discomfort of pangingilo.

This year, GSK and Sensodyne takes the advocacy a notch higher with the launch of “Great Little Moments” digital campaign which encourages Filipinos not only to “Say No to Ngilo,” but also share their experiences after converting to Sensodyne and how they are able to fully enjoy their great little moments sensitivity-free. I will be posting more about this campaign and the contest!

“For those who have sensitive teeth like me, I know you’d agree that it is not something you can just ignore. Sensitive teeth can ruin the mood of any romantic date, or stop you from enjoying those unforgettable moments with your loved ones,” Sensodyne brand ambassador, Luis Manzano shares.

Eduardo Cimafranca, Group Product Manager – Oral Care, Gianina Fortun, Associate Product Manager – Oral Care, Heather Pelier, Incoming General Manager, Gikki Martija, Marketing Director, GSK

Heather Pelier adds, “Our message is simple, there is no need for sensitivity to impact anyone’s life. Making a simple change to one’s oral care regimen will make a real difference. Now that Sensodyne has reached out to more Filipinos who used to just endure the pain, we want to encourage them to tell their stories now that they can enjoy their favorite food and drinks and fully enjoy the eating moments with their family and friends without fear of pangingilo.”

The new Sensodyne Mouthwash is the perfect partner for Sensodyne toothpaste in saying no to pangingilo. Sensodyne Mouthwash is alcohol free and is available in two variants, Cool Mint and Extra Fresh 250mL. SRP of Sensodyne mouthwas is Php165 and available in major supermarkets and drugstores nationwide.

Don’t let the pain of sensitivity get in the way. Say No to Ngilo and Yes to those Great Little Moments!

Child Development Workshop from Ogalala System In Play

I got an invite for a Child Development Workshop from Ogalala System In Play a few weeks ago. I got an invite for their launch last year, but for some reasons I can’t remember, I didn’t even replied to the email! What was I thinking back then?! Naturally, I wouldn’t let this 2nd chance passed no. Kaso, I can’t join the event unless I can bring all my kids.. mabuti na lang they were OK with it and I got another event invite happening on the said date. The venue is close with Ogalala event venue din and I can bring my kids din! Coolness! OCD approved a day in the life of a mommy blogger! Yay! Sorry, I get high when things are in line with each other.. I believe in destiny!

Going back to the workshop, it was one of the most intellectually satisfying event I have attended. I really enjoy the event and learned so much!

Ogalala System In Play is a system developed by Internationale Globale Marques, Inc. (IGM) based on play and parenting insights wherein play products or educational toys are grouped together to develop the physical, intellectual, social & emotional skills of a child from birth to 12 years old. It is composed of eight (8) globally- known brands:

The Ogalala System in Play offers the right tools that we need to develop our children’s multiple intelligence making them Body Smart, People Smart and of course Brain Smart. The products and tools, are of course, can be bought at Ogalala online store or at Ogalala Flagship store located at L4 East Wing, Edsa Shangrila Plaza Mall.

The Ogalala Child Development Workshop was held at their flagship store. As I have mentioned earlier, I attended the event with 4 kids. I know they would’t get bored on this event, part of the program was free play around the store. In fact, my kids officially tagged Ogalala as their wonderland!

Kuya is busy tinkering the HOL Build your own Microscope while Marco’s busy trying to figure out how the Crayola Marker Airbrush Set works.

While Chico had a grand time making markers using Crayola Marker Maker (now he wants this one for Christmas! hahaha). Sati, on the other hand (and me too! hahaha) had a blast doodling using Crayola markers and crayons.

Obviously, I had fun during the free play. Actually, as soon as we entered Ogalala store and saw the Crayola, my heart jumped and go straight to the many many color selection! Nakakabaliw! Di ba nga I posted about the Pick Your Own Pack Crayola and how to avail it. Go check my blog post.

The workshop was conducted by teacher Maia, a professional educator with more than 12 years of experience on children’s development and assessment, special education, and multi-age program development for children.

The main idea of the workshop is teaching us the different kind if learners and how Ogalala can help us with the tools and toys they offer.

So why do we need to know what kind of learner is our child/ children? According to Teacher Maia, knowing what kind of learner your child is  will help us:

  • Know how our child takes in information
  • Know how we can best teach our child
  • Select the appropriate materials for our child
  • Make learning more enjoyable for our  child

The different kind of learners as discussed by Teacher Maia are:

  • Auditory Learner learns through hearing.
  • Visual Learner learns through seeing
  • Kinaesthetic Learner learns through touch or hands on experience

Here are some example on what we can do for our learners:

Although I am already familiar with the types of learner, from this workshop, I finally confirmed what kind of learner my kids are. My oldest is visual and kineasthetic learner. I never really had a problem teaching him, his understanding is quite advanced for his age, in fact he’s the one to diagnosed himself as kineasthetic learner.

My 2nd child on the other hand was a bit of a problem to me. He’s top 2 on his class but at home, I always have a hard time teaching concepts to him. From the workshop, I realized that he’s a visual/ auditory learner. He’s more a visual though, but he needs both to learn. Iniisip ko kase what’s the difference between our house and the school eh.. then I realized that inside the classroom, the teacher writes at the blackboard while discussing. That’s what is missing here at home. He needs visual representation din aside from auditory.

My 3rd son seems like a visual learner. He can do his assignments on his own e. While Sati is auditory, she needs someone to talk to while doing her homework. She learns well when you discuss the idea to here.

It really is important to know what kind of learner the child is, lalo na during the early life. It makes learning fun kase and less stressful for the parents but the thing is, even though it is easier to stick on one learning style, we have to train them to learn using the other kinds of learning. That’s what I like most about Ogalala World, with their products, the learner is not confined on what kind of learner he or she is. With the products Ogalala offers, the learner can also develop other kinds of learning.

And what I LOVE most about Ogalala is how they stay true to their principle as they hand out our token for attending the event. They really observed the kids and assessed what kind of toys/ tools that is appropriate for them. We went home with Artec – HOL Ant World which was very appropriate for my tinker boys and Disney Frozen Coloring & Activity Book & Markers which is for my little girl talaga.

Indeed, Ogalala is a wonderland, not just for kids but for us parents! To give you an idea on why this is a wonderland to us nanays (except the crayola section ha! alam ko naman un lang ang iniisip nyo hahaha), here’s what Ogalala’s recommended toys for different learners, yes! They have it all on their store!

BONUS! BONUS! If you have a little girl, Ogalala’s flagship store is right next (almost) to Barbie Store in Shangrila 🙂
