Summer Bag Wishlist

I have a love-hate relationship with bags…love because I love bags! Who doesn’t?!? Hate because some of those that I love, I can’t afford! And it happens most of time, I’ll see a bag and I’ll fall in love, only to find out that it’s over $1000. NYAKS! There is no way I will buy a bag THAT expensive…or maybe I will, if I win the lottery, heck! I might even buy the Louis Vuitton Tribute Patchwork Bag  (which they say is one of the most expensive bag in the world>> PhP 1M++!!)

I am not bag brand conscious, I even buy bags from thrift store. In fact 50% of my bags are from thrift stores (bags for less than $10). If I love the style of the bag, I usually go for it, price considered of course 🙂 The most expensive bag I bought is around $150, the first one was a hobo bag from Nine West (original price is $200) and the other one is a Coach Satchel (original price is $300+ >>no way! haha)..and that was a long time ago (hmm like January haha).. I think I need a new bag, hey I deserved a new bag!

And because SUMMER is already here, I found some nice bags perfect for summer (if I only I can afford two or three of these lovelies!) First from my list:

Coach Avery Canvas Drawstring, $124.60

I love anything canvas.. but the price of this bag is not something I love haha

ALDO Bismarck, $44.98

This one is more affordable and perfect for overnight getaways! It can also serve as a beach bag, perfect for large families like mine.. you know, 4 sets of clothes, 4 towels and so on, and so on!

Nine West Strong Current Foldover Clutch, $79.00

A bit pricey for a clutch, but this one is perfect for maxi dresses.. flowing..flowing…

ALDO Derolain, $39.98

ALDO bags are really cheap no?

Nine West Prep It Up Multi Stripe Tote, $69.00

Quite colorful for my taste, but this one looks very functional for summer.

Last but not the least..though this one does not have a bright vibe to it, I included it on my summer bag wishlist because I want it.. as simple as that 🙂

ALDO Sepvlieda, $55.00

Quirk design! I love it.. and of course the color (and the price too!) if only ALDO ships here in my country, I will buy two!

Soo.. what do you think of my summer bag wishlist?

April Fools’ Day Prank

SO! I am back!

I won’t STOP blogging.. ever!

My Final Curtain post is an April Fool’s Prank.. and though some of my friends and readers (I posted it under the humor category LOL) didn’t believe it, some expressed concerns. Actually, I received some sweet notes from an FB community I belong..didn’t expect that.. it’s very heart warming! And a few pm’s from my friends asking if I would really stop blogging..

not bad, for a first time prankster LOL

Honestly, I can’t see myself closing this blog (not because I have 2 years paid hosting).. I really enjoy what I am doing (even without earnings or blog events). I just love sharing my thoughts and information.

So in the spirit of sharing, do you know where, when and how April Fools’ Day Started?

The history of April Fools’ Day as suggested by Wikipedia, it is in Iran where it all started, read on;

In Iran, jokes are played on the 13th day of the Persian new year (Nowruz), which falls on April 1 or April 2. This day, celebrated as far back as 536 BC, is called Sizdah Bedar and is the oldest prank-tradition in the world still alive today; this fact has led many to believe that April Fools’ Day has its origins in this tradition.

But this theory is the best (source);

Constantine and Kugel

Another explanation of the origins of April Fools’ Day was provided by Joseph Boskin, a professor of history at Boston University. He explained that the practice began during the reign of Constantine, when a group of court jesters and fools told the Roman emperor that they could do a better job of running the empire. Constantine, amused, allowed a jester named Kugel to be king for one day. Kugel passed an edict calling for absurdity on that day, and the custom became an annual event.

“In a way,” explained Prof. Boskin, “it was a very serious day. In those times fools were really wise men. It was the role of jesters to put things in perspective with humor.”

This explanation was brought to the public’s attention in an Associated Press article printed by many newspapers in 1983.

The thing is, the story is a hoax and AP has been a victim of an April Fools’ Day Prank.

They say that one of the best April Fools’ Prank was the Swiss Spaghetti Harvest. In 1957, BBC’s Panorama reported a family in Switzerland harvesting spaghetti from a tree (and there was a photo!). Many people believed the story.. OK, that was foolish, well, during that time, pasta is considered as an exotic delicacy, so many were hopefuls that they can grew one from their own backyard.

And for modern time pranking, The Huffington Post suggested a few pranks:

Donuts x Mayo.. is it just me or I can actually eat this kind of food.  ( photo source)

Another food prank.. now.. that one is CRUEL! (source)

This one, I hope my kids will never learn about this wooohoo this will send me flying off my seat wahaha (source)

This one takes the cake, for me at least. I can imagine myself doing this to a friend (or to my brother or to my sister) and die laughing while they picks up their mobile phone wahahahaha

How’s your April Fools’ Day prank? Please don’t tell me you did the I’m Pregnant Prank AGAIN this year!

P.S. I initially thought of posting an FB status saying goodbye to blogging..that’s too easy to do..so I made an emotional post instead, making it more believable hehe

The Final Curtain..

After posting Plants vs Zombies 2 World 4 (Far Future), I realized blogging has taken a lot of my time.. I don’t have time to play my favorite games.. and finish my chores.. gaya ngayon, tatlong basket na naman ang labahin ko.. and there were 4 baskets of clean laundry waiting for me. haaays

I know blogging has given me a lot. I met some great people through blogging.. Sati’s godmothers are all bloggers…

I learned a lot from blogging..

my passion is not writing.. I blog to inform..and though my desire to help and inform (specially fellow moms) is still burning,  I can’t do it anymore. Time is my enemy.

And with tears flowing..let me do my final act..

Thank you dear friends for showing support to this blog.. to my family, close friends, marce club, ranchers and all the community that helped me..

Thank you my dear readers for making this blog alive through your comments and support (specially to my giveaways)..

Thank you to all the ad agencies and PR companies I have met..specially to those that made it past the blogger-pr relationship..

Thank you blogger, wp, godaddy and bluehost for the technical aspect of this blog..

and most of all, thank you my dear husband for allowing me to to blog.. for being the best husband in the world, for making it possible..

Goodbye Blogging..
