Manny Pacquiao says NO to Mining. When will you?

This one of the video that made me respect Manny Pacquio.. sure he is the world’s most celebrated boxer (next to Ali).. but I am not a boxing fan.. sure he is a congressman, but I detest politicians.. and then he said No to RH bill a few months ago..

but when I saw this video.. he just became my hero. He is a man who has principle and to give a stand to an issue as controversial as this, makes me a Pacman fan.

Well aside from the boxing champ, more than 5.2 million of Filipinos said NO TO MINING IN PALAWAN. When will you?

Join the battle cry and make your voices heard—loud and clear—in support of a national rally to protect our environment. Spread the word and play a key role in the evolution of consciousness of our people by urging more Filipinos to say NO to MINING in Palawan and other fragile island ecosystems.

Let’s own the battle and help in reaching the target of 10M signature by Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012. We have to make a stand and deliver a strong message to our government. NO TO MINNING IN PALAWAN!

Artworks With Faber-Castell Watercolour Pencils

Faber-Castell Watercolour Pencils is a art tool that is very close to my heart. It was in 2003 when my husband bought a set for me. It was expensive but more than that, the thought the he supports my hobby was overwhelming. And now that I am having another love affair with arts and crafts, this watercolour pencil is a must have.

Faber-Castell Watercolour Pencil is a color pencil that you can use to color your art works and turn it into a watercolor painting! It’s cool right? You start with a pencil color but you end up with a water color artworks. It can be bought in 12, 16 and 24 pencils set. The one I bought is the 24 Watecolour pencil sets which 300+ PhP at National Bookstore.

Earlier today, we had an art session and I let the boys experience the magic of Faber-Castell. I outlined a scene of their choice. Mico wants a man fishing while Mahat opted for a man looking out on his farm. I used Faber-Castell Colouring Pens (yes I love most FC products) and here’s the result of our Artsy Saturday:

Oh! I forgot to take a shot of the their art works when it was in pencil color phase….this was after they colored it with watercolour pencil then finished it using a wet brush.

Our next art session will include drawing using pencil and some techniques on shading, to make their drawing look real 🙂 Oh I hope my boys will turn better than me on the art department 🙂

Lessons With Ukelele

While I was uploading my Mahat’s Choral recitation video, I tweaked my youtube account and found this:

That was my first born doing his rendition of Tayong Dalawa 🙂 taken using my Motorala V8 (oh how I love that fone!) I even saw their videos singing The Jerks’ Reklamo ng Reklamo using the guitars we gave them as a gift… reminds of the guitar we got them a few years back..

It was in 2007 when we bought their guitars, as a gift for my first born’s birthday. And as a rule, Mico and Kieth will have a guitar too. Hubby bought a real guitar for Mahat and bought ukeleles for the younger boys. He bought it at raon in Quiapo. It was a bit expensive, but of course new Electric Guitars is still more expensive. Little we did know, ukeleles can be bought at Greenhills for a much lower price. The ukelele he bought at Raon costed him 800 PhP (4oo each) where in Greenhills, a smaller version can be bought for only 120 or 150 PhP. To think that the ukeleles did not even last for months, we should have gotten the cheaper alternative.
