Pehpot: Let me start with my first nomination which is my beauty blog or lipstick blog to be more specific. My Painted Lips was born out of the need to do something for myself. Being a mom of four, having a “me” time is almost next to impossible. Creating the blog inspired me spend some time off without sacrificing the needs of my kids. And for sure host, you will find interesting topics there about beauty products that you use 🙂

Host: I am sure I would, in fact I just checked your blog and was so kilig with your commercial stint with Gerard Anderson, courtesy of Maybelline BB Cream. I can’t wait to read your review of the said product.

Pehpot: I was sooo kilig too! hahahahaha

But kidding aside, this blog should be bookmarked by those who are planning to have kids or planning to build a large families. Ellen, even if I already have 4 kids, the stories and situations you shared are different from mine, to say I learned a lot form your site is understatement 🙂 I specially liked and read the article on Teaching the kids the difference between Wants and Needs.

Pepper: Hello there, My name is Pepper, the single mom behind Pepperific. This blog seeks to delve into the inner workings of a single mom’s slightly twisted mind. It aims to help out other parents, whether single or not,by sharing bits and pieces of advice on parenting.

Pehpot: As to why her blog is named that way, qouting from her site: “As pepper adds spice to food, so does my daughter add spice to my life. She makes life no less than…PEPPERRIFIC!”

Pepper: Yes, the blog is about my daughter 🙂

Pehpot: I nominated the blog because it was very new to me.. it’s very hard to be a mother and half of being sane about it is the fact that I know my husband is behind my back. To raise the kids alone is something I am not sure I can do.. and to read a blog about it is very inspiring.

Host: Oh yes, I have been reading some of Pepper’s post and she is a great writer!

Olga: Hello guys! I am the mom behind Tottering Mama. This mommy blog was primarily created to chronicle the development of two very precocious toddlers but has transformed into something that aims to convey more than just that.

Host: Oh your header is so cute and so full of happy vibes.

Pehpot: Oh yes it is! It shows how happy Olga’s family is. I like this blog so much because of the way the articles are written, informative yet entertaining. And since it was my first time to have a baby girl, her article on choosing the perfect shoes for toddlers is very helpful.

Host: ohh.. that’s very great to hear.. how about you Mommy Joy, please do tell us about your blog.

Mommy Joy: Hello everyone! Notepad Corner is personal blog created to share my life experiences, challenges, travel, parenting, food, home, housekeeping tips, interests, work, business and anything that could be of essence to one’s daily living.

Host: Oh I love your article about saving money and the tips you offered are very practical. I have been applying most of the tips and been saving a lot because of it.

Pehpot: And that is the reason why her blog is on my Top Ten.. the fact that Mommy Joy is older than me, she already gained my respect and I love to think of her articles as an advice given to me 🙂

If most of the blogs on Pehpot’s list are mommy blogs, this one is a bit different.. the blog is owned by Mhel (and her brother Ken).. and it is a food blog! Hello Mhela nd welcome to Blogging Today. We would like to know what Certified Foodies is all about.. you know how much we all love food!

Mhel: Hello guys! Mhel here and as mentioned, I am one of the owners of Certified Foodies. This blog was started in May 2010 with the purpose of sharing our love for cooking and experimenting with different flavor combinations and cooking techniques in the hopes of influencing people to go back to their kitchens and put those pots and pans to good use.

Host: I have been to your site and all I can say is YUMMY! makes me want to eat and explore different cuisine.

Pehpot: Their blog was an eye opener for me in terms of culinary adventure.. so for a mom who’s culinary knowledge is limited to the kitchen, Certified Foodies is on my top food blog list. Their Bancheto entry made me thought of braving Ortigas on weekends.

Host: everyone will agree on that.. when it comes to food, it’s really hard to try out different cuisines.. and I am glad that blog like Certified Foodies makes our life yuumier.

Pehpot: I have known Levy for more than a year already and I am still amazed at her blogs.. specially on the topics that she posted.. whenever I got a feed of her post, I can’t help but vsit her site and read about her recent entry, and some of it are very informative, like her entry on Marikina Fault Line.

Willa: Hello, and I am glad you feel that way. LOL The Bloggers Journal was created to help a fellow blogger in a very simple tutorials used and created by me. The tutorials in this blogs were created as simple as possible for everyone to easily follow and comprehend. Some of it might work,some might not,but the goal is the same,to help a blogger in my own simple way.

Pehpot: That is why The Bloggers Journal is on my list. I also maintain a blog about tips and tutorials on blogging and creating one that is easy to comprehend is a bit challenging. I have been blogging for 3 years already and though I enjoy what I am doing, there are times that I contemplate on changing a career (yeah I consider blogging as a career ahahaha). And if I am not into blogging, I will be selling. Sales is my first love. As early as I can count and knew how to subtract, add and count change, my grandmother taught us how to sell. I remember that every summer she would give us money and we would use to buy and sell stuffs.. There was a time that even on school days, me and my sister would ride on our bike and look for things/ fruits that we can buy and sell. It’s fun and not to mention we got to earn some extra, which we usually spend on food trip (that later on was the culprit of our Typhoid fever hahahahaha)

As I am saying, if ever I would stop blogging, I will be in sales. And if there is one industry that is closest to my heart, that would be INSURANCE. For one, my mom raised us from insurance money. She has been selling policies for more 2 decades already. I also had a first hand experience with it.. tried taking the insurance license exam and passed. I was oriented with some of the ins and outs of this industry. And most of all, I believe that there is a need for insurance. Life is unpredictable and we need to be prepared.

Coincidentally, while I was whining about how I wanted to change a career, I was invited by Mom Friday for a lunch out with her friends from the insurance industry. Initially, I thought, they would be presenting their products and asked us to share it with our readers. Of course, I would be very much willing to do that as I have mentioned, I believe in insurance. Surprisingly, what Darwin Uyco and Christine Lee of Sun Life Financial told us is far more interesting. No, they did not sell their products to us, they never even mentioned what are the kinds of investment Sun Life has to offer. What they told us was how it is working with Sun Life. Darwin talked about his travel incentives, the perks and privileges of being a financial advisor of Sun Life.. and a lot other things.

Financial Advisor rings as a very intimidating career.. do I need to finish finance related article to be a financial advisor? And that was one of the things that Christine explained to us. Darwin and Christine gave us a glimpse of their life as a financial advisors. They even told us the stories behind their “accidental careers”. Both never thought that they will have a job in the insurance industry.
