What To Bring During Field Trips/ Educational TourWhat To Bring During Field Trips/ Educational Tour

Since tomorrow, I am off for my son’s educational tour, I am to write my what to bring in a sheet of paper. I realized, why not write it here and share to other moms. For a first time mom like me (in terms of field trips and educational tour), I am really excited. So here’s What To Bring During Field Trips/ Educational Tour list:

What FOOD To Bring During Field Trips/ Educational Tour:
Lunch food such as rice and dishes that are not easily spoiled. Don’t bring tomato based food. Stick to vinegar based. Yup that is the reason why Adobong Manok is very famous on field trip lunches. Adobo dishes are not easily spoiled. You have to be cautious though, never close your container when the food is still hot. It will cause the food to perspire and thus will lead to food spoilage.

Bring lots and lots of water. You are seated comfortably in a bus and you won’t be travelling in a public transportation. Use this to your advantage and bring at least 1L of water per kid. Bring drinks such as juices and cola too. The night before put them in the fridge and then use thermo bag on the day of your trip to maintain its coldness.

Cookies and other finger foods. This will keep the kids busy. And you know how kids, they like to eat almost every minute. Save yourself by having a lot of chips and cookies in handy.

I will be bringing 4 bottles of Minute Maid Pulpy Orange, 4 cans of Coke, 4 bottle of 1L minera water and tetra pack mango juice (buti na lang Magnolia gave us a thermo bag)

For the food: adobong manok (half kilo), salted egg, rice, pancit canton and puto. Chocolate chip cokies, pringles, lays (as I promised them.. they don’t get to eat this kind of food, only when I allow them)

What CLOTHES To Bring During Field Trips/ Educational Tour:
When joining any educational tour, it is somewhat expected that the kids will play and will sweat a lot. So bring at least 3 set of clothes for the kids, you can bring their nba shirts. And bring hand towels too.

2 sandos and 2 extra shirts, 1 extra pants for each. 4 small towel for each boys and 2 big hand towels.

What other things To Bring During Field Trips/ Educational Tour:
First Aide kit that includes paracetamol, pain reliever, alcohol, baby wipes, betadine.
AlsLinko don’t forget to bring insect repellant lotion for the kids.
Bring a menthol inhaler or any rub that can soothe motion sickness.

Biogesic (10 tablets), alcohol, betadine, petroleum jelly, Off Lotion, baby wipes and of course the ever friendly mefenamic acid.. and vicks and white flower..

Oh! though I never use plastic, this has to be an exception. We need it when someone starts throwing up (me?!?)

Magnolia Ice Cream Christmas Limited Edition 2010

When was the last time you had Magnolia Ice Cream?

Definitely not during 1996 to 2001, because that time, it’s not Magnolia Ice Cream, rather Nestle Magnolia. It was shocking to know that Magnolia and Nestle are two different Ice Cream brand. Even my husband thought that Nestle is a low end brand of Magnolia Ice Cream. Confusing right? Oh well, now you know, don’t be confused again. The Magnolia that we love is back!

I must admit that when it comes to Vanilla flavor, we really look for the Magnolia seal, specially Ube flavor (the only flavor that we all love). Theirs is the creamiest. And this Christmas, Magnolia treats us to “Nuts, Cakes and Fruits”. TheMagnolia Ice Cream Christmas Limited Edition 2010

Vanilla Praline. Frozen dairy dessert, prepared from the finest quality raw materials; contains cashew praline with streaks of caramel ripple in a Vanilla Ice cream base

Caramel Cheesecake. Frozen dairy dessert, prepared from the finest quality raw materials; contains cheesecake bits with streaks of caramel ripple in a Vanilla Ice cream base

Apple Strudel. Frozen dairy dessert, prepared from the finest quality raw materials; contains apple cinnamon bits with crushed chocolate pretzels swirled with a combination of green and red apple ripple. Enhanced with creamy vanilla flavor.

Magnolia Ice Cream Christmas Limited Edition 2010 is available from November 15, 2010 to February 2011 in 1.5L, in-mould labeling with tub wrap.

During the taste test we had, I fell in love withApple Strudeland why not? the taste, the smell and the appearance is so Chrismassy.. (if there is such a word). I knew right away that this will be the ice cream of our noche buena. While it was being described to us, Vanilla Praline was most appealing to me. I don’t get the pretzels in the Apple Strudel but when I had a taste of it.. oh….. nomnomnom (shout out to Jonel.. thanks!) The combination of crushed chocolate pretzels and the apple cinnamon bits plus the creamy vanilla flavor are soooo good.. the pretzels, I want so much!

It was such a surprise that Magnolia gave us a tub of each flavor to take home, in a thermo bag of course. The kids enjoy it but they like Caramel Cheesecake while I stay with Apple Strudel. In my effort to preserve my tub, I tried theirs (Caramel Cheesecake and Vanilla Praline), and discovered that it has the same nomnomnom goodness as with Apple Strudel. Vanilla.. caramel..nomnomnom..

Magnolia Ice Cream Lineincludes:
  • Magnolia Classic
  • Gold Label
  • MIC Limited Edition
  • No Sugar Added Ice Cream
  • Sorbetes Orig
  • Frozen Delights
What’s your favorite Magnolia Ice Cream Flavor?

Meralco Maliwanag Ang Pasko Grand Lighting Ceremonies

Meralco Christmas Tree

For someone who is living in Pasig,Meralco’s Paskuhan Village and Nativity Belenis hard not to miss. The Nativity Belen made out of recycled copper wire is just amazing. And for someone who has been living in Pasig, every Christmas, we had a feast of lights, color and hope. For some reason, we never had a chance to get up close and personal to the said attraction. But this year, it was a different story. I had a privilege not just to be up close and personal but to witness the grand lighting ceremony of the said display.

Meralco Maliwanag Ang Paskotheme for this year is UNITY or PAGKAKAISA. Aside from the traditional giant replica of theNativity Belenand Meralco’s Paskuhan Village, Meralco Ortigas Compound offers a ride on its life size electric toy train around the candy colored Toy Town with a life size (robot size) Robot on the side. The grand lighting ceremony also gives way to the introduction of Meralco Bolts as Christmas Goodwill Ambassadors.

And once again, Meralco invite their costumers to unite and brighten up their homes and spread Christmas cheers to their community. TheMaliwanag Ang Pasko decor and lighitng campaignstarted in 2006, a campaign that seeks to encourage Meralco’s costumers to spread the beauty of Christmas by decorating and lighting up their houses. For this year’s campaign,Meralco will recognize 9 of the brightest and best decorated homes all over Meralco franchise. Each house will be awarded 25,000 Philippine Pesos. Same as before, Meralco will donate the same amount to the chosen partner charitable institutions. The partner charitable institutions this year areCaritas Manila, Laura Vicuna Foundation and Childhope Asia. Interested Parties may join the campaign by calling the MaP hotline (1-800-10MaPasko or 1-800-10-6272756 for provincial entries and 885-7049 for Greater Manila costumers). Or you can log on to MaP website,www.maliwanagangpasko.com

Meralco Maliwanag Ang Pasko Grand Lighting Ceremonies was hosted by Wilma Doesnt and Jojo Alejar. The ceremonial switching was headed by Meralco Executives including Meralco CEO, Manuel V. Pangilinan. Also present were guests from their partner charitable Institutions.

Aside from the fact that I was there to witness the ceremony, I am ecstatic because that day, I was able to test drive or test shoot my new lens! I had so much fun that day that I promise to bring the kids there so they can experience it too.

Oh I love this display the most. In fact, I thought it was a real Meralco man doing some repairs before the Ceremony.

Meralco’s Paskuhan Village and Nativity Belen is open to public from 7 PM to 10 PM on weekdays and 7PM to 12 PM on Saturdays.
