Philippines Red Cross Aid Couture 2014 (Pre-loved Clothing Sale)

Whenever there is a call for relief operations, I’d go to my closest and see if there is something that I can donate..clothes are the easiest to give (and let’s not discuss why). I read from somewhere that clothes donations are overwhelming and some donations are too bongga to give to calamity victims.. sequined tops? short shorts? gowns? evening gowns? drag queen outfit? come on! Philippines Red Cross, in partnership with Procter & Gamble Philippine, thought of something to make these kind of clothing to use.. and that is through Aid Couture. It is a fund raising event where in the bongga clothes are styled and sold to the public. The clothes were washed and dried before being sold to the public. The proceeds were converted to first aid kids, food supplies, blankets, stretchers, etc for use in times of calamity and natural disasters.   The first Aid Couture happened last November and this year, Aid Couture will have its second run this  August 2-3 at the Glorietta and Market! Market! Activity Center. What to expect?

  • Activity center will be converted into a big selling area
  • expect to see clothes from partner celebrities and endorsers
  • Clothes will be sold at 100-300 PhP

What can you do to be a part of this worthwhile cause?

  • Spread the word about the selling event on August 2-3
  • Buy! Buy! Buy! (1 top= 15 hot meals> data from last year’s aid couture)

So? Kitakits on August 2 and 3? Tara!

P.S. there’s a styling event tomorrow for media.. I’ll try to post some of the clothes that will be on sale (lalo na the celebrity clothes)

Downy Parfum Collection #InstaSwitch

because it’s laundry day today, let me share with you the science behind  Downy Scent-Switcher.. eto talaga ang pinaka bongga sa blogging eh, iyong ma invite ka sa isang product launch ng produkto na gustong gusto mo at makatulong ka to promote the said product. Siguro naman, by this time, alam nyo na how much I love Downy products..di ba nga I even blogged about the new variant, weeks (or months) before its launch. The event was held at The Blue Leaf – Silk Pavilion (Taguig)…not a first timer (remember Joy with Olay event?) but it was my first time to explore The Blue Leaf (maaga kase kame dumating).. instant photo ops with Levy and Fedhz (feeling nag Tagaytay!) After a hundred or so photos (bathroom photos, garden photos, you name it, we have it LOL), we were allowed to enter the pavilion. A hide and seek kind of entrance!

Blue Leaf Silk Pavilion was transformed into a #InstaSwitch fabric art installation, every fabric element inside the venue was rinsed in Downy Parfum variant Happiness with the scent-switcher technology. #InstaSwitch was hosted by Issa Litton

Steps Dance Project members performed sensually with the fabric and they allowed the fabric to dance on its own

P&G expert perfumer, Junji Hamano of Japan, explains the how a scent can trigger a memory and impacts your feeling after, Junji explains “Fragrance has the power to transform the state or mood.” The scent characteristics of the newest from the Downy Parfum Collection, Happiness, brings a playful and breezy vibe with vibrant ambiance captured by a fresh topnote of grapefruit, apricot and luscious red fruits, creamy floral mix and a sophisticated frame of woody, powdery and musky notes that definitely brings a tropical summer sense.

Downy Brand Manager, Nicole Villarojo, explained the innovation on the technology behind Downy Scent Switcher so every rub is different perfume experience. “A second Perfume Micro Capsule was added to the entire Downy line. It sounds simple, but the results are absolutely remarkable. Every time you rub your clothes, the scent changes because different PMC bursts, the combination of scents are different so you get a different experience every time.” Downy’s newest Brand Ambassador, Bianca Gonzalez, tells her experience of changing different hats in a day, she says “With the new Downy Scent Switcher line, I can start and end my day without worrying about the need to change my clothes or put on a different perfume. I just rub my Downy-rinsed outfit and instantly release new and different scents that match my current mood.” (official photo)

School of Fashion and the Arts newly graduated students, Xaxa Cruz and Wanda Bandojo collaborated with Downy for a Scent mob showcasing their pieces rinsed with Downy Happiness Scent-Switcher. (official photo) #InstaSwitch guests had a chance to rub and experience the switching of scents from the exquisite pieces shown during the Scent Mob.

Brand Manager Nicole Villarojo, Downy’s newest Brand Ambassador Bianca Gonzalez and P&G expert perfumer of Japan, Junji Hamano and #InstaSwitch host, Issa Litton.

The different scent every rub is true pero hindi naman to the point na parang ibang iba na ang amoy ng damit.. the different scents experienced are quite close or similar to each other… pero all scents are nose friendly naman 🙂 trust me, I have been using this variant since March. I also noticed that this scent lasts longer. Thumbs up for P&G for giving us innovative products such as  Downy #InstaSwitch.
