Building Dreams, Raising My Dreamers

It was not my first time in an event that talks about family, but it was my first time be affected that much and feel the need to share it as detailed as possible to my readers.

Family Talk, a client forum of Philam Life, was about raising family, dreaming, building your dream, preparing for retirement and how to handle family finances. Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan was the first speaker who talked about family and raising a dreamer:

Dare for them and be with them.

Raise them from here to there.

Explore the world with them.

Affirm them along the way.

Make way for them, provide for what is needed.

Encourage them again and again.

Remind them of the dream and it’s best by your example.

I have four dreamers with me and the thought of how to provide them what is needed struck me the most. I do have a part-time job and my husband provides for us very well. Maybe we can send them to good universities and they can finish their college education and they would be thankful. But after college, I do not know what will happen… Though one thing I am sure of: we should not burden our kids with our retirement.  I guess aside from education, that’s another best thing we can give to them, an assurance that they don’t have to look after us when we grow older. And there’s also the question (which of course I prefer not to answer haha) what happens if something happened to us? Scary thought eh?

My mom made us realized the importance of insurance and Maricel Laxa- Pangilinan’s talk is an affirmation that we really need insurance. Actually, it took us years before finally saying yes to my mom. I wish we had earlier. But for you, my dear readers, it’s about time you put life insurance on your priority list. If like me, you have the same dreams for your kids and worries about what the future holds, then Philam Life’s Family Secure might just be the perfect plan for you.

Here’s a video of Family Secure, please do watch and tell me how you feel after watching it:

Battery Not Included

I am not fond of battery operated toys, simply because, when the battery runs out, you have to buy another battery or the toy is useless. I am just being practical. I know I can just buy rechargeable battery but the point is without batteries, the toy is useless.. in essence, bibili ka na nga ng laruan, bibili ka pa ng batterya.. doble gastos!

But that’s hard to explain to the kids, so from time to time, they would ask for battery operated toys.. and more often than not, they get a NO from me 🙂

Then there was this toy they saw.. and they kept on telling me that I should buy it.. and again, I asked them, is it a battery operated toy? they said no, it’s not and it is stated on the packaging..

Boy number 2 blurted out: It says BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED!

toinks! hahahaha

Playing for Charity

When I attended the cleaning project at UP – PGH Cancer Institute, I was really moved.. I said to myself, I will make it a point to help them if not now, soon. Then I was given a chance to play for my chosen charity at 888ladies and without thinking I said yes!

888Ladies is on online bingo community that always give new players a warm welcome. There are many different games offered such as mega-jackpot games, mini games and a variety of bonus offers. Signing up was very easy, it did’n not even took me five minutes. Playing was fun! I just choose what game what I want to play and it opens in a new window. I did not have to wait long for my game to load. Of course, my favorite game was Bingo, a game I always loved since childhood. I think I spent more than 50% of my playing time in the bingo area. Playing at 888Ladies was easy! Other games I played were Irish Luck and bejeweled! I had so much fun playing those games.

What I like most about my playing experience is the fact that i can chat with other players as well. As I have mentioned above, 888ladies is a community, and it proved itself to me. Just like playing bingo offline where yo got to chat with your playmate, I had the same experience from 888Ladies.
