McDonald’s Open 24 Hours + PlayPlace

There was a time in my childhood that I believed that mcdo was synonymous to fun..we would have Sundae + chicken nuggets + hours of play on the playplace.. endless tunnels… slide.. colorful balls.. play pretend! It was really fun growing up with Ronald!

In a way, I want my kids to have the same fun as I did when I was a kid.. and though we already have a small version of play area in our house, nothing beats going to Mcdo for a Sundae while enjoying the slide, the tunnels and more..

and good thing, there’s a newly opened McDonald’s near our place! Well, there was a Mcdo near us.. but that’s inside Ever Gotesco and it smells awful and looks awful too.. (I hope they will renovate it soon), the newly opened Mcdo is located just in front of our favorite supermarket (super 8).. and the ambiance is really cool.. homey and very relaxing and yes they do have a playplace! Hurray!

Last night, as promised to our third born, we had our dessert there..and the kids played as long as they want.. and while playing I heard this sweet conversation:

Kuya, Diko and Chico: wag ka matakot Sati..poproteksyunan ka namin

It happens that there was boy trying to bully Sati.. and her Kuyas come to the rescue! ang sweet lang.. muntik na ako maiiyak!

And while we were munching on McDonald’s Big n Tasty burger (which I did not like hehe).. we noticed how comfortable the chairs was and how relaxing it can be to have breakfast and sip coffe on that chair..hmm.. nice idea.. but Kuya needs to be at the school by 7 AM.. then we learned that it was open 24 hours.. hurray!

So it was set.. Mcdo breakfast at 6 AM (so that Kuya won’t be late for school)..

Pancakes, sausage, longanisa, coffee + hot choco.. yummm! and yes, the kids had their time at the playplace..

It was fun! Hurray for 24 hours Mcdo, Hurray for Mcdo PlayPlace!

Let’s do this every week Daddy 🙂

Oh by the way, this newly opened Mcdonald’s at Pasig (boundary Pasig- Cainta) also has a drive thru and birthday area.. hmm I can smell a McDonald’s birthday party soon!

POTW: Eng Bee Tin Chinese Deli Custard Hopia

When shopping for Chinese Delicacy pasalubong, people (specially Balikbayans) knows only one place, Eng Bee Tin Chinese Deli. And though I became familiar with the name only recently, I am quite sure that it was not the first time had an Eng Bee Tin products. Feeling ko kase noon lahat ng Chinese products pare parehas lang ang name (the kind of name that’s hard to pronounce) so I never bother checking… but our recent discovery of Mr. Ube and the small deli inside it, made me aware of the brand name. So that was the brand of the pastillas I love (next to my hometown’s very own pastillas).. and the Tikoy that I always buy and the hopia! and the tarts.. and the.. nyaks! Eng Bee Tin has always been part of my Chinese food tripping!

The first time we ate at Mr. Ube, their newest product was offered to us.. Custard Classic Hopia.. sounds exciting..so we bought a pack.. only to discover that a pack was not enough ( apck is at 48 PhP with 4 hopia inside). We went back after a few days.. and it was out of stock.. another day and again Eng Bee Tin’s Custard Classic Hopia was out of stock.. argh! So the next day, we were there earlier.. and there it was..sitting on the fridge, waiting for us.. we almost hoard!

Aside from Custard Hopia, there was also Custard Ube Hopia.. being an Ube fan, we also tried it.

Eng Bee Tin’s Custard Hopia will truly give you shiver every bite.. it’s leche flan and hopia in one! Same goes with Custard Ube Hopia.. it was like Ube halaya and hopia in one! Imagine 2 of the best Filipino desserts turned into a hopia (talks about marriage of two culture haha).. Eating Custard Classic Hopia and Custard Ube Hopia will make you feel like it’s fiesta everyday!

I’d go for Custard Ube anytime, Custard Classic was too creamy for me.. where as Custard Ube is on the sweet side.

We love this hopia so much that in a span of one week, we had two trips at Mr. Ube buying at least 5 packs each trip..

with my kids’ reaction to Mr. Ube and Eng Bee Tin’s products, I cannot help but think that Mr. Ube is our new Jollibee (if you know what I mean)

The Mommy Bloggers On run United 2 + Preparing Child for Nursery School

It was a busy week for me and most mommy bloggers would agree.. as the school starts, mommies tend to be busier. We have to wake up earlier, prepare breakfast, prepare lunch then teach the kids on the afternoon.. I have 2 kids on elementary level, so the amount of time I spend with them increases as I help them cope with the demands of the school. It’s very different when they were in pre school. The academics was a lot easier but emotionally it was harder. I ha to prepare them and explain to them why they need to stay in school and without mommy on their side. If you have a pre schooler an still having a hard time preparing them for nusery, check out Mommy Jem’s post on Helpful Tips on Preparing your Child for Nursery School:

  • Train your child to eat and finish breakfast before anything else. With good breakfast, it will help them to be energize in school with good mood.
  • Before the start of the class, visit the classroom or learning center with your child. While inside the room, tell him good things about the room and the things that he can expect. It will give the child an idea or familiarity of the place when he is about to start in school.
  • Introduce your child to his teacher and classmates. Children always obey parents. When we personally introduce our child to his teacher and some classmates, he will remember that and may help them get along easily.

Another thing I am concerned about is that my boys would be more focused on their academics, losing interest in sports. And that’s one of the reason why I sign them up for Run United 2 500 m dash.. I want them to have a balance life, enjoying school at the same time enjoying other activities too. Our run experience from Run United was fun, specially that my two toddlers joined the 500m dash.

Mommy Levy also joined Run United 2, running for 3K. From her Run United 2 experience, she mentioned that RU2 was successful and fun and even commented on how helpful the day care was.
