Events Overload

It’s funny how some people would say I attend a lot of events or that I have events here and there when in fact I don’t breathe events. I admit I really do enjoy attending one but I am not the type of blogger who will jump to every events they can get.. I am still a mother above all this.. so I choose what events I attend to..

I usually don’t do events in far far away land.. not unless a service will be provided.. I don’t do late night events.. as much as possible, I say no to weekend events and I don’t do events that are tobacco or alcohol related. I am choosy, yes I am.. so I just don’t get it why some people would say madami akong events.. last time I checked, this blog is still a mommy/parenting blog (though there will come a time that I will post about engagement ring designers.. this is still a mommy blog).. not an events blog

I am not against people who breathe events… it’s their choice and I am sure most of them are not a mom like me who needs to take care of the kids and run a household.

How Does Bladeless Fan Works?

found a deal at one of the group buying site I often visit..

The deal is for Hyundai Bladeless Fan for only P2990 from its original price of P5980.. It’s not the price or the big discount that caught my eyes.. it’s the item itself.. sorry I may sound amused but I really am! BLADELESS FAN? are you kidding me?!?

Apparently, not.. there is really such a thing. Bladeless Fan do exist and here’s James Dyson explains How Does Bladeless Fan Works:

This is a great product specially to household with kids.. as we all know how fan blades can be dangerous with the kids.. as with the Bladeless fan, you can put your hands right inside without hurting. As tot he amount of air it release, I still have to know.. I’ll try to visit an appliance store and ask for a demo.

Sinigang Recipe Variants

Sinigang, we all know, is Filipino soup dish with a very distinct sour taste… It would always be sinigang.. any Sunday is made special by this soup dish.. and any gloomy day can be brighten with a bowl of steaming hot sinigang..

I remember when I was a child, I used to make a list of different kinds of sinigang.. ranging from the type of meat used to the kind of fruit used to make it sour. I am very used to cooking sinigang as it is, boiling/cooking all the ingredients together. Then I married someone who’s roots came from Pampanga.. and I learned how to cook Sinigang by sauteing it.

Sinigang na Baboy sa Sampalok

Sinigang na Hipon sa Sampalok

Sinigang na Baboy sa Pakwan

If you are not familiar, here are some variants of our favorite Sinigang:

  • Sinigang sa Sampalok – this is the most famous and most used
  • Sinigang sa Kalamansi – often used in Seafood, specially in Shrimp
  • Sinigang sa Kamias- used in Milk fish
  • Sinigang sa Bayabas- often used in Beef and Pork
  • Sinigang sa Santol
  • Sinigang sa Pakwan
  • Sinigang sa Strawberry
Sinigang sa Miso is another variant but it simply used Sampalok and added Miso for some flavor
In terms of the type of meat used, we have the different kinds of sinigang:
  • Sinigang na Baboy
  • Sinigang na Baka
  • Sinigang na Isda
  • Sinigang na Hipon
  • Sinigang na Gabi (yes meron nito!)
Sinigang na Manok or Sinampalukang Manok to some is another type but this one does not use tomato unlike the other sinigangs.
My favorite would always be Sinigang na Baboy sa Sampalok and Sinigang na Bangus sa Bayabas.. but my kids would always go for Sinigang na Hipon sa Sampalok.. while my younger sister would go for Singang na Baboy sa Pakwan.. I still have to try Sinigang sa Strawberry and Sinigang na Lechon one of these days.. but with the many types of Sinigang, I bet it would take a while before I tried it.

I know most of you have tasted more than 3 kinds of Sinigangs, would you like to share what are your favorites?
