10 Ways To Use Vaseline Petroleum Jelly For Your Home

Petroleum Jell as a lip balm. That’s probably the most famous way to use petroleum jelly or as a first aid treatment to burns. That’s what petroleum jelly to us!

Anything skin blister and we’d dab it with petroleum jelly. Soo it was a surprise for me to learn that Vaseline Petroleum Jelly has 101 uses! And as much as I want to list it all here, I picked 10 that every homemaker needs to know.

10 Ways To Use Vaseline Petroleum Jelly For Your Home

  1. Protect Stored Chrome: Before storing your bike away for the winter, or any other chrome item or machinery you’re not planning on using for a while, rub it with petroleum jelly to keep it from rusting over.
  2. Utilize a small touch to put a quick shine on your shoes.
  3. Dab on leather bags to remove dirt.
  4. You can rub Vaseline on the neck of your nail polish bottles, and they will not get stuck to the caps.
  5. Clean Watermarks From Wood.
  6. Keep Ants Away From Pet Bowls: Ring the base of the bowl with petroleum jelly and the ants won’t be able to reach the kibble.
  7. Mask Doorknobs While Painting: Rub petroleum jelly over any metal surface you don’t want to get painted. It will prevent the paint from sticking, so once you are done you’ll only have to wipe the paint off.
  8. Lubricate Cabinets and Windows: Apply petroleum jelly to the window sash channel and cabinet door runners with a small paintbrush and you wont hear them creak ever again.
  9. Keep An Outdoor Lightbulb From Sticking: Next time you change your outdoor lightbulb apply petroleum jelly to the base of the bulb and you’ll won’t have any trouble unscrewing it when the time comes.
  10. Remove Chewing Gum From Wood.

I bet nagulat ka din ano? Check out the other uses of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly here: Vaseline Petroleum Jelly 101 Uses

Here’s my favorite:

Burn more fat during a workout: Apply a thin layer to desired areas especially around your abs. Vaseline acts as a heat trap by holding heat created during your workout. As a result, you sweat more from the extra heat trapped within your body. The whole process increases your metabolic rate which in turn helps burn off fat. It’s an old trick that boxers use to drop weight fast to make their fight weight.

I’m gonna try this one out! Let’s burn more fats!

Ariel 100 Fearless Filipinas #Ariel100StainsIn1Wash Summit

In a recent Wash Your Fears Summit, Ariel 100 Fearless Filipinas were recognized and Ariel proved that it can do 100 stains in 1 wash.

Ariel 100 Fearless Filipinas

BAD MOM. It gets me. All the time. I am afraid to be judged as a bad mother. I am always worried that I am not doing enough for my kids. I am sure it gets you too. It is something that most stay at home moms fear di ba? There’s this stigma that a stay at home is of lesser value tapos you’re doing it right pa. Ang saklap di ba?

But I’ve learned my lesson. I know I can only do so much and that the only people that is allowed to judge are my kids. They alone can say if I am being a bad mother or lesser than what I am supposed to be.

Ariel 100 Fearless Filipinas

I know that most stay at homes can relate to this. As we care for our families, we encounter unexpected situations that hold us back. In the Wash Your Fears Summit by Ariel, we heard inspiring stories from 10 celebrity influencers on how they overcame their fears and succeed in life.

Ariel 100 Fearless Filipinas #Ariel100StainsIn1Wash Summit

It was my first time to attend a summit like this and also my first time to see Kris Aquino in person (#fanmode). So I am really excited for this event.

As we enter the venue, we were asked to write what we fear the most in a white shirt. Along with the other Ariel 100 Fearless Filipinas we wrote what we fear the most using stains to represent it.

Bianca Gonzalez- Intal hosted the summit. Kris Aquino shared her stories and the things the she fears the most. During the summit, it was Mirriam Quiambao- Roberto that inspires me the most. There’s so much passion with the way she talks. She’s very encouring and she stirs an emotion that gives a better perspective in life. I really wish I was able to capture her talk during the summit.

Other speakers during the event were fearless advocate for peace and development Amina Rasul, fearless advocate for health and environment Anna Kapunan, fearless beauty queen and advocate for children’s education Marilou Chua, fearless journalist Samira Gutoc-Tomawis, fearless enterpreneur Mandy dela Rama, fearless lifestyle columnist Mons Romulo, fearless female pilot Aimee Carandang Gloria, and fearless founder of The Cravings Group Badgie Guerrero-Trinidad. Ms. Emmeline Verzosa, Executive Director of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and Ms. Maria Clara Ignacio, Chief of The Women’s center – TESDA .

The shirts where we wrote our fears were washed in a Samsung automatic washing machine using Ariel. And look at that! 100 stains in one wash. I witnessed how the fears of Ariel 100 Fearless Filipinas were washed using Ariel! It’s about time you become fearless too!

Fight Smelly Clothes With #DownyBoomBoomPow

Nyaaaay

In a recent survey on malodors, the top 10 tough malodors on clothes are:

  1. vehicle exhaust
  2. cigarette smoke
  3. smoke from burning garbage
  4. sweat and body odor
  5. wet socks
  6. kulob
  7. fried fish
  8. barbecue
  9. garlic
  10. Onions

I know you have been waiting for this moment, for me to announce the winner of my Malodors poll. Lahat kayo may tama and the winner was not chosen based on her/his answer, swerte swertihan lang ba. Soooo here it is:

Now let’s talk about how we can eliminate these malodors on our clothes. Alangan magbihis ka maya’t maya di ba? In a not so recent event, we got the chance to expereince malodors on our clothes. Akalain nyong nag ihaw si Chef JP Anglo sa harap namin. Imagine a not so big room with like more than 20 people tapos may iniihaw na liempo at isda. Kumusta di ba? Before the cooking demo, pinag suot kame ng apron, some got the blue, some the pink one. You guessed it right, the other apron may downy, the other one wala. And we were surprised with the result! Nakakaloka ang baho nung apron na walang Downy. ANG BAHOOOOO talaga! The other one, ang linis pa rin ng amoy!

Here’s an explanation how Downy works:

The newest technology from Downy softener contains the breakthrough Malodor Removal Technology which does not just “mask” malodor with aromatic ingredients, but effectively eliminates tough malodors which stick to clothes completely.. This prevents the odor-causing material from being released again.  The Perfume Micro Capsules, which are spread and embedded on fabric while washing, will help bring back the refreshing fragrance on clothes. Together, the Malodor Removal Technology and the Perfume Micro Capsules harmoniously work to help neutralize all tough smells and create longer lasting fragrant smells on clothes every time the fabrics are rubbed.

This innovative product formulation is also complemented with modern and colorful product packaging for all five Downy fragrances:

  • Sunrise Fresh (for quick drying, even indoors)
  • Antibac (to keep germs away for the whole family)
  • Garden Bloom (for wonderful floral freshness)
  • Single Rinse (for quick rinsing with less water)
  • Baby Gentle (for the safety of sensitive baby skin)

And that’s how you fight malodors on your clothes with #DownyBoomBoomPow. Watch how me and Sofi fight amoy palengke in our clothes:

The new Downy with the Malodor Removal Technology and the Perfume Micro Capsules are now available in supermarkets nationwide. More information can be found on www.facebook/downyphilippines or follow the conversation online with the  hashtag: #DownyBoomBoomPow
