Di ba, we’ll be celebrating it in a shelter that caters pregnant women and new born babies.. so I’ll be shopping baby toiletries (hindi kame nakakuha ng sponsors eh) and I really hope I can get good deals on toiletries, timing too since I need to look for pedaltrain effects at the mall hihi

For Mom Card holders, there’s a preview shopping exclusive to members on January 30, 12 noon to 9 PM.

Watch out for my blog post on what you can expect from the fair! 🙂

Common Baby Skin Diseases And How To Treat It

We all know that our skin is one of the most delicate part of our body and we do many things to take care of our skin. We know too that baby’s skin is more delicate than ours, do you know why?
Well, when our baby is born, some parts of the skin is still developing. The baby’s skin does not have much melanin and cannot protect itself from sunlight. Baby’s skin is thinner too, that is why it is more susceptible to rashes and other skin diseases.

Here are the most common skin diseases that the baby may experience:

Baby Acne is one of the most common, in fact, out of my 4 kids, I think two of them had baby acne. This is similar to adult acne and usually develops on the forehead or cheek area. Researchers pointed out that it is the hormone from the mother before birth that may cause baby acne. It can also be the medication being taken by a nursing mom. No worries mommies as acne usually go away without any special care.

Cradle Caps, argh! my first born had this and I was worried! Well, like baby acne, this is caused by the hormones the baby got from the mother before birth. They say it’s harmless but it’s an eyesore right? Experts say that to treat or get rid of cradle cap, you just need to loosen up the flakes, simply by massaging it with your finger or a soft brush or shampoo the baby often (as often as once a day). But please do not! as in DO NOT try to take it our by force, it will irritate the baby’s skin.

Diaper Rash is another common skin disease experienced by babies but this one is the easiest to prevent. The diaper area of your baby is really sensitive and when wetness strikes in, this can lead to skin irritation.

Caring For Your Baby’s Delicate Skin

Now that we know why a baby’s skin is delicate, how do we take care of it? Do not expose your baby to sunlight as their skin cannot protect itself from the sun yet. Wash the baby thoroughly and  use products that are specially made for babies. Lastly, use a diaper that does not only protect your baby from wetness but also takes care of their diaper area.

Pampers Active, knowing how skin protection is very important to moms, now offers 5-star skin protection:

  1. 12 Hours Dryness. Pampers Active keeps baby’s skin touchably dry for up t 12 hours.
  2. Baby Lotion. Pampers Active diaper is infused with aloe lotion to help prevent diaper rash.
  3. Cottony Softness. Keep baby’s skin free from imitation with cotton-like softness.
  4. Breathable Cover. Air circulates so baby’s skin can breathe easily and stay wonderfully fresh.
  5. Comfortable Fit. A flexible, side stretch design keeps it snug and comfy whether baby is at rest or play.

Pampers Active is available in sizes Newborn to XL:

  • Size NB: up to 5 kg
  • Size S: 3 – 8 kg
  • Size M: 6 – 11 kg
  • Size L: 9 – 14 kg
  • Size XL: 12+ kg

How about you mommies, what skin disease your baby had and how did you treat it?

Mommy Pehpot and Mommy Levy’s Birthday Project Update

Less than two weeks to go and my excitement is killing me!

Today, my box from the US arrived!! yay!!! this box was filled with (OK half of it) 2nd hand baby clothes I bought (through my kumare) from Decatur..online and offline yard sale.. that’s the power of internet to you haha

We have sponsorssss! (yes take note of the S! haha) Say hello! and a huge thanks to these companies for supporting this cause:

Unilab is a trusted company when it comes to vitamins for kids and medicine for fever and so we asked them if they can provide  Ceelin and Tiki Tiki for babies, Biogesic For infant and adults and they said YES! Thank you so much Unilab and to the person that made this sponsorship possible (waves at Roche!)

I have mentioned before, my partnership with Pampers(and the huge amount of diapers they gave me) inspired me (along with Please Be Careful birthday episode) to start this project but we didn’t stopped there.. Grace to be Born needs diaper and more than that.  Knowing that Procter & Gamble being a household name for soap, shampoo, detergent (and of course diaper), we asked them to be a part of this project by sponsoring some of their products.. and it was a YES! Thank you P&G and to my fellow elbizen (Moe!).

Pascual Labs is very close to my heart… err, they were the one that made me famous LOL.. C-Lium ad? remember? hahaha

Grace to be Born houses pregnant women (serves as a temporary shelter for the unwed mothers and an orphanage for the children born there) and they encourage mothers to breastfeed their babies.. and we know that Pascual’s Pro-Lacta is the pioneer when it comes to malunggay tablet (helps in milk production), and Pascual Labs was very generous to provide some boxes of Pro-Lacta and some Lagundi bottles. Thank you Pascual Labs (and Diana..amishu!)

Blogger friends are very supportive too!

Thank you Zowanderer and I Love Keisha for joining this project 🙂

It’s not too late for you to be a part of this project 🙂 if you have money to spare, thank you in advance 🙂 my paypal is cata_pineda at yahoo.com
