Sati’s 4th Birthday Barbie Party

It’s been four years of pure happiness and bliss.. she really made our life complete and we can’t help but give in to her whims. Pede ba namang hindi? hahaha

So when she said, oh no.. I mean, when she planned her 4th birthday party and how it should go, we had to make it happen!

Cake should be Barbie

Venue: Tagaytay

We should decorate the room and wake her up and surprise her with the decors, cakes and so on..

Detailed party and she’s only four! I can’t imagine what will happen when she turns 7, malamang ang gagawin ko na lang eh maglabas ng pera at siya na bahala sa party nya hahaha

Booking for a nice hotel in Tagaytay was not easy. I know there’s a lot of hotels in Tagaytay but I want a hotel with a pool and a playground and not to mention affordable. My first option was Taal Vista (err minus the affordable criteria haha) but it was fully booked for the date that we need it. Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay comes next when you look for Tagaytay Hotel with playground but it was fully booked too (our chosen date was Nov 9-10).. realizing that we can’t have a hotel on the date that we want, we moved it to November 8-9.. and we’re set for Hotel Kimberly, Tagaytay (review of the hotel coming soon!)

Next on the list: the cake (Barbie fondant cake), decors and some party favors..

For her cake, there’s only one name that comes in mind.. Ava’s Cake! eh bakit hindi, we loved the Hello Kitty they did for Sati’s 3rd birthday.. bakit pa kame kukuha ng iba? even if the cake comes from Ilocos..sulit (umm aside from the fact na bias talaga ako sa mga tiga UP LOL #schoolpride! hahaha)

For the party favors, we had mallows, french macarons (ordered online), pretzels and some pink and white candies. And for the decors, well, in a span of 3 days, pinag tiyagaan ko aralin kung paano gumawa ng flower pom balls and added a twist to her S letter using decorated paper tapes from Stuffify.

And here’s the result of one week preparation for Sati’s 4th birthday party:

Eto ang kwento behind that table of surprise..

the table, we brought it along.. and the “tutu” table cloth, we made it ourselves.. when we arrived in Tagaytay, it was almost dinner time. We had our early dinner at The Grill (by Antonio’s>another review coming up) and we were stranded for an hour or so.. it was raining hard and zero visibility!

We arrived at the hotel past dinner time and I know the hotel has an indoor play room.. I told them to play at the indoor play room while I “decorate” the room for Sati’s party.. and after an hour, it’s ready!

And here’s the little prinsesa with her matching outfit.. which was not planned..it so happens that her ninang Liz from the US sent this dress to her.. sumakto di ba? nagmukha tuloy bonggang bonnga ang party ng dalaga namin 🙂

Pero after a minute, hinubad na ung dress nya at nagpalit na ng pants and her favorite yellow shirt 🙂

The fun continues the next morning..

At kahit bumabagyo, hindi rin nagpapigil ang mga bagets na mag swimming! At dahil ready ang nanay, Vitamins muna bago mag swimming sa mala yelong pool LOL

I boost muna ang immune system with Ceelin before swimming. Whenever we travel, I always make sure na we have Ceelin Chewebles on our bag (very convinient to bring at ipainom sa mga bata eh)

After checking out at Hotel Kimberly, we had lunch at Carlo’s Pizza:

they serve the best Buffalo wings! waaaaah this resto is now on our Tagaytay list (along with Hotel Kimberly and The Grill by Antonio’s)

On the way home, balak sana namin huminto sa The Original Buko Pie in Sta Rosa pero Pagoda Coldwave lotion na ang peg namin.. Hagarda much! I still need to read about flip door at ovisonline.com.

The little girl seems very happy and satisfied with her party.. so I guess, it’s a job well done for me!

Mahat’s 10th Birthday Celebration

My first born celebrated his 10th birthday last October 24. It was also the day where the UN Parade was held and the Halloween party. SO what better way to celebrate his party but with a Halloween theme haha

Photo story:

Just like our New Dormer’s party, I used the Red Ribbon Birthday Budget Planner to plan for this party. They were 40+ in class (2 sections) and including the teachers and the school crew, that’s about 70 people to feed. My budget was 8000 PhP including the food, 3 dedication cakes, giveaways and game prizes.

I have a story to tell about the giveaways.. since hubby was arriving from Indonesia one day before the birthday, I asked him to buy TimTam since it is cheaper there.. at first I thought of asking him to buy chocolates at Duty Free for giveaways, kaso naman, mahihirapan pa ako mag pack.. so we opted for TimTam since it is cheaper nga and I don’t have to repack it…. the thing is, since we need 40+ of TimTam, he had to buy a new luggage bag for that.. there goes my kuripot moment hahaha (good thing he didn’t charged me the luggage bag he bought)

As for the cakes, we had 3 dedication cakes, one birthday cake for Kuya (he loves Mocha flavor), one Happy Halloween cake for Grade 4 (his class) and another Happy Halloween Cake for my Grade 2. At ang nakakatawa, sa dinami dinami ng cakes na binili namin eh wala pa lang kandila! woohoo! Hubby was the one who picked up the cakes and the food haha

For the food, we had Spaghetti and Palabok from Red Ribbon. We had Tetra pack juice for the drinks and a few bottle of sodas for the teachers.

All in all, I think I spend a little over 7000 PhP.. and yes I didn’t overspend again! That’s the good thing about using  Red Ribbon Birthday Budget Planner . I am very prone to over spending, even if I plan it very well.. I don’t know why but with two parties I had using the Birthday Budget Planner, I didn’t over spend and may sobra pa!

It really helped that the planner gives you an idea on how much to allocate on the food, the drinks, the giveaways and of course the cake.. may party ba na walang cake? haha

Another that I like about the Birthday Budget Planner is, it is very easy to use. Even a non tech user can navigate very well with the lay out and the theme of the micro site.

And lastly, it makes partying very easy because of the suppliers listed on the website. You won’t have a hard time looking for suppliers and their contact details as it is already listed there (or you will redirected to a directory listing).

I think I will be sticking with the Birthday Budget Planner as my party partner (um except with the princess’ birthday….which is just around the corner.. err we’ll be going out of town for her party .. she already have a plan for her birthday..and I can’t insist my own plan, hay nako this little girl has a mind of her own.. at a very young age sobrang articulate na!).

How about you? Have you tried using the Birthday Budget Planner? How was it? Share with us your party planning story!

Hello Second Sem!

OK, not second semester actually.. but just the continuation of our school year.. but hey, I had a week of waking up late and just doing nothing.. ayayay! Felt like a college student again today.. getting ready for another round of school days hahaha

So yesterday was a busy one for me.. preparing for my boys’ stuff.. school bags, uniform and my bento tools! Yes, I have been doing bento, but not that wow! kind of bento, more like, practical bento. Sa totoo lang, mahirap siya i maintain but seeing my kids happy and knowing that they enjoy their food better, it keeps me going. But I have a lot of bento tools, specially food picks (dami naman kase ng anak ko no haha) and rice molds.. best bento tool ever, specially if you’re in a hurry. And a few addition to my bento tools comes straight from the land of Bento, Japan! (thank you my dear marce for the pasalubong!)

Sneak peek on my bento tools:

I asked them to check on their bags and see for themselves what is missing on their school stuff. Start them young.. habang maaga pa eh turuan na maging responsable sa mga gamit nila 🙂

As for their uniforms, my mom was here last week.. and yes, inayos na nya lahat un before she went back to our province.. sarap ng may nanay no?

Another thing I prepared for is this:

A few weeks ago (one week before the exam) two of my boys got sick.. fever galore! ang daming kong pagod nun, not to mention I was super praning kase nga baka dengue. For my 3rd boy, we had to bring him to the hospital twice para lang maka siguro na hindi dengue iyong lagnat. Super praning talaga ako sa dengue since we lost a love one from dengue (more kwento on that)..

That’s why I am very thankful that I was chosen to be one of the mommy bloggers of Green Cross Insect Repellent Lotion. I was offered to try this new product, just in time when I am scouting for an insect repellent. I think this will lessen my paranoia to dengue. Now, as the school starts again, my kids are protected. Applying an insect repellent lotion is now included in our morning routine.
