Mommy Pehpot and Mommy Levy’s Birthday Project

When I was offered to be one of Pampers mommy bloggers, I was ecstatic.. who wouldn’t be? That’s Pampers, that’s Procter & Gamble, a brand that we trust and actually use, from toiletries, to snacks (we love Pringles!) to Vicks (can’t live without it.. since I was 4!). The fact that they trusted me to carry out their brand message and campaigns is just overwhelming. And I thought the happiness would stop from there.. oh well, obviously I was wrong.. I wouldn’t be blogging about this if I was right LOL

As part of our partnership, Pampers gave me some diapers… I mean a lot of diapers.. like 6 boxes of diapers! And I was like, there is no way that we can use all of it! Sati’s the only one using diapers and she only uses one a day.. one box of diaper can last up to 6 months..ang bongga di ba? I am truly blessed..and so, I thought (and also inspired by Please Be Careful episode) of sharing my blessing to those that needs it the most. I have one shelter in mind that’s could use this much diaper.. and the date, of course my birthday next year. Codename: BIRTHDAY PROJECT

After the Red Ribbon Party Planner event yesterday, I went straight to the shelter to talk to their manager/volunteers.. and the date is set! February 1, 2014! Ayayay!

Grabe, the babies there are so adorable and so playful! I spent a few minutes playing with the kids.. gusto ko sila iuwi lahat!

Our (Levy and me) beneficiary for our Birthday Project is  Grace to be born:

Grace to Be Born Maternity Home and Nursery is the youngest member of the womb to tomb ministry of Bo. It also caters to the youngest beneficiaries. Grace to Be Born was established in 2009 through the generous partnership of Basti and Betty Roxas-Chua who renovated their Pasig building and lent it rent-free to Grace to Be Born. The place serves as a temporary shelter for the unwed mothers and an orphanage for the children born there. With no questions asked, no deposit required for board and lodging, and no social standing asked for, Grace to Be Born has become a haven for the young ones to be born in, and a place where their mothers have a chance for emotional and spiritual rebirth.

Now that I already set the date with them, it’s time to look for sponsors. Of course, I will be maximizing this party/ activity as much as I can.. and contact all the possible sponsors that I know. I want to give all that I can to the shelter. Fatima of Grace to be Born gave me a list of what they need, excluding the sponsors that I will contact, here are the list:

Toiletries for Babies ( I am hoping I can contact Johnson and Johnson for this). If you have contact or know anyone from JnJ, I would greatly appreciate if you will share this page with them.. or introduce me to them so I can send my proposal.

Milk for pregnant (I am also planning to contact Anmum for this one).. I’m still looking for the calling card from Anmum, but if know someone from them, please.. please share this page to them.

Maternity Clothes for mommies (and also a few clothes post maternity so we can give something for them once they graduate from the shelter). This is where you come in my dear readers.. If you have maternity clothes and other clothes that you no longer use, you can donate it 🙂

Milk for babies.. I read from somewhere that Milk companies are not allowed to donate milk (Milk Code.. correct me if I am wrong) and though I have contacts from Milk companies, let’s abide with the Milk Code.. and so I will be asking around for money donations on this one. This is specially for bloggers.. for every $20 (or equivalent in pesos) you donate, I will be putting link on my homepage (and mommy Levy’s blog) from the day you send the donation and will be up until March. I will also be publishing an update once in a while with the list of sponsors. You can contact me here: https://www.facebook.com/mommypehpot for the paypal address or the bank details.

They also need the following:

  • Biscuits (wala akong kilala sa MY San, baka may kilala kayo? hehe)
  • Vinegar
  • Soy Sauce
  • Cooking Oil
  • Brown Sugar
  • Cerelac for Babies

For companies and brands, as a way of gratitude, we will also display your banner on our homepage and will publish a post announcing you as one of our sponsors.

Bloggers who are free that day are welcome to party with us 🙂

Your Order Is On Its Way

For an online shopper like me, getting an email that says:

makes me jump for joy! ayayay! Well, my order is not literally on its way to my doorstep.. that would to much shipping cost for me. I have a friend in the US that takes care of it. A balikbayan box fan here! haha

And here are my recent purchases from Carter’s and Oshkosh:

As usual with my most online purchases, the pretty princess got more clothes than her brothers! hahaha

Now I can’t for my balikbayan! So excited to see the princess and the boys on the clothes above.. but yeah, since the clothes are for colder weather, I guess this order includes a trip to Baguio or to Tagaytay.

How about you? Do you love online shopping? What’s your recent purchase?

Pampers Sound Sleep, Sound Development Campaign

  image011

Pampers recently launched the Sound Sleep, Sound Development campaign, in partnership with the Mother & Child Nurses Association of the Philippines (MCNAP). Pampers Brand Manager Camille Aquino shared, “This campaign aims to educate moms on the importance of complete night-time sleep for babies. We acknowledge that when baby sleeps through, night after night, it is a key step in baby’s development,”

To help mommies better understand what complete night-time sleep means for babies, Pampers sets up an interactive exhibit in Megamall Events Center last Monday. The exhibit features 4 booths that showcases our baby’s dreamworld and what is happening when they are asleep. It also provides key information for mommies to better appreciate the importance of complete night-time sleep to babies.

Yours truly together with Mommy blogger Frances Amper-Sales opened the exhibit with a very light discussion about our kids and sleep. We talk about the challenges we faced when putting them to sleep as well as how to ensure that our babies have a complete sleep. Frances and I are both breastfeeding moms and we both agreed that it’s the “dede” that can surely put them back to sleep.

When I was asked what is the most memorable sleep moment for me, it’s when they start sleeping through the night. Eh di ba ang saya nun! Mas mahabang tulog para kay Mommy! Well, a complete night is actually more beneficial to babies than the mommies. Philippine Society of Sleep Medicine Dr. Luis Rivera Jr. reveals what complete sleep does for babies and MCNAP President Alicia Estiller also agree that complete night-time sleep is very important to baby’s development and growth.

But from my experience, even though they are already sleeping through the night, minsan pag may discomfort, nagigising talaga ang mga bagets kaya I always make sure to keep them at the most comfortable as possible. And yes that includes trusting a diaper that can last through the night.

Looking back, I never really had a hard time putting my kids to sleep, except for my oldest son who experienced colic during his first few months. It was a battle putting him to sleep and more battle keeping him that way. A slight noise and he’d be awake and crying. Then I heard about WHITE NOISE. And I was like, seryoso? akala ko white lie and meron.. meron din palang white noise!

Ano nga ba ang white noise?

Alam nyo ung radyo pag walang signal? or ang TV pag tapos na ang palabas? Yes that dzzzzz sound that we hear!

A study has been made and the result was more than 3 times of the number of babies in studied fell asleep with the use of white noise. I can attest to that as it really helped us in putting my colicky baby to sleep longer. Pampers also believes in the use of white noise. You can red more about Why Babies Love White Noise here.

How about you mommies? Have you tried using white noise with your baby? If not, do you think it’s a good aide for babies to sleep? Please tell what you think at the comment section 🙂
