Anything mommy blogger related here. This features blog events coverage. This blog also publish press release and write ups. Tips and tutorials on how to be an effective blogger.

This also include a list of top mommy blog in the Philippines.

In addition, here is the 5 SIMPLE STEPS TO BE A MOMMY BLOGGER:

1. Create a blog name that will represent you as a mommy blog. Sometimes it's good to include the noun mommy or mother or nanay.

2. Create an email the same as your blog name for branding purpose, in other words, for identification. After that, you can proceed to step 3 which is actually one of the most challenging part.

3. Open a blog. It has been debated for so many times which is the best blogging platform to use. For starters, I usually recommend blogspot because it is free. On the other han, if you are ready to shell out money, wordpress org is the best.

4. Design your blog. This sound like an easy task to do, it is actually, however, it can be very time consuming. The number of free templates for a blog is endless. To help you decide, set your blog tone and color. Will it be a dark themed blog? Light? What will be the primary colors? And from there, searching will be easier.

5. Lastly and most importantly, Start writing. The best way to start this is to introduce yourself. Likewise, you can also create a list of why you started a mommy blog. Or you can mention top 10 things that you would want your future readers to know about you.

Thanks you my dear baby Sheehan Kyros, the one and only super kulit na bata katumbas 10 kids. At your age (2 years and 4 months) you thinked and talked as if you are already my big man. But at the end of the super tiring day you make me feel that i am your one and only love. I love you son!

Mommy Mundo ExpoMom 2014: You The Mom!

Dearies! Let me invite you to Mommy Mundo’s ExpoMom 2014 on May 16-17 at Glorietta Activity Center.

Here’s a Press Release from Mommy Mundo and what you can expect from ExpoMom 2014:

Moms be Proud: Shout You The Mom!

By the time a child reaches his second birthday, his mother would have changed his diaper 7,300 times. By his 18th birthday, she would have prepared for him 19,710 meals–and spent more than 100,000 hours to his care, granted that she gets to sleep eight hours every day that is, which is doubtful. Motherhood truly is an all-encompassing vocation, which can sometimes overwhelm mothers themselves.

But what makes moms so good at what they do is that they absolutely love what they’re doing. Caring for baby while running her home, making sure healthy meals are prepared at home, and all the children’s needs are met. They do the groceries, take the kids to the dentist, and oh, and in most households, moms hold 9 to 5 jobs or run successful businesses too!

Mommy Mundo Founder Janice Villanueva says, “We admire moms for their almost superhuman qualities, their powers in time management and multitasking alongside their ability to do anything and everything for their loved ones, and they all do these things wholeheartedly and passionately at that! And because most moms do all these tasks with grace and usually with flair even, we may sometimes forget to show her some appreciation and affirmation.

Even moms themselves sometimes don’t seem to recognize their own efforts. That’s because taking on numerous responsibilities and caring for those we love come natural to us. Still, we should take pride in who we are and the important roles we play not only in our own families, but also in our communities and country.

This Expo Mom 2014, we shout out YOU THE MOM! – this is a campaign to  recognize the many big and small accomplishments of all moms. Through various planned activities online and at the Expo Mom event, we affirm and appreciate all the awesome things that moms do every single day, whether they’re taking care of their babies at home, doing volunteer work for a cause they believe in, or helping out a friend in need.

Now on its seventh year, Expo Mom is the biggest event of its kind, gathering progressive, active moms in an environment that’s both recreational and educational. Showcasing beloved mom brands alongside mom-created products, Expo Mom has drawn over 60,000 mom participants since 2008. It has become a venue for like-minded moms to establish lasting connections and has also become the catalyst for the mompreneur movement in Manila. This year’s Expo Mom will feature over 60 booths at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center, Palm Drive, Ayala Center. Expo Mom 2014 will also feature all-day talks, demos, and raffle draws.

Expo Mom’s You The Mom! campaign puts the spotlight on all the unbelievably good things that moms do by featuring 10 women whose stories represent every mom who has made a difference in her community, her family and in her child’s life. Real portraits of these moms, as photographed by Cres Rodriguez-Yulo, will be showcased via in an online gallery, hoping to spur on a complimenting social media campaign encouraging everybody to take the time to post a #youthemom statement. Statements from moms can be a post on what they are most proud of as a mom.  For non-moms, posts can be a shout out all the good things that your mom has done for you or recognize a mom friend who inspires you. By using the hashtag #youthemom and #expomommanila, posts will be tracked and 3 of its participants will get a chance to win sponsored shopping sprees at Expo Mom.

At Expo Mom, a “You The Mom!” signature wall will allow moms to write their statements on what they are most proud of as a mom. “You The Mom!” is a celebration of motherhood,” Janice says. “We want to give value to moms who make a difference in the lives of our families and influence the course of our country. If you know of such a mom, give her a hug today to show just how much you appreciate her. If you’re a mom yourself, go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back because you’re doing an awesome job! You The Mom!”

Entrance to Expo Mom 2014 will be a requested donation to MomShare’s literacy projects. One hundred percent of Expo Mom’s entrance fees will go to its partner beneficiary, Kinder Project, which aims to provide reading tools and training to public school teachers in Quezon City and Payatas.

Mommy Mundo Privilege Passport holders get in free and will bring home a You The Mom! Tote bag. To apply for a Passport, log on to www.mommymundo.com/passport.

Top Blogs Philippines Widget

Isang maligalig na lunes ang sumalubong sa akin last last week!

Eh paano ba naman, I was busy drafting a post and when I tried to view my blog, I got this warning:

The first thing I did was click the ADVANCED option and proceed on my blog even though there is a risk. BAHALA NA SI BATMAN!

Good thing, nothing happened. I removed the top blogs Philippines widget on my blog and the malware warning went away.

Here is the statement of Top Blogs Philippines regarding the malware:

After removing the widget, somehow, I kinda felt relieved.. free from pressure and stress. I have to admit, that little small blue widget somehow affects me. And I discovered that I was not alone!

After a week, Top Blogs Philippines was back on track and everyone got their widgets back.. excluding me. I am still contemplating if I should put the widget back or just enjoy stress free/ pressure free blogging. Kinda hard to decide since most of my local advertisers got my contact or saw my blog from Top Blog Philippines website.. haays..

Anyways, for those of you wondering what Top Blog Philippines is all about, it is a directory of most blogs (but NOT ALL)  in the Philippines. The rankings are based on the unique traffic a blog gets.

How To Install Top Blogs Philippines Widget?

Create an account on Top Blogs Philippines website, add your blog/s and follow the instruction. Installing the widget is all about copy and paste, no need to tweak any codes.

How important is a top blogs widget on your blog?

When an agency search for mommy blogs, top blogs or keywords of the same meaning, top blogs Philippines usually appear on search engine. If you want your blog to be noticed by PR agencies, then having that widget on your sidebar is important. The thing is, if you don’t have much traffic and your rank is 50 below, there is little chance that your blog will be noticed as they only display the top 50 on first page of each category.

Will it help you increase traffic? Nope it won’t. Although you’ll receive a few hits from them, still not a good traffic source.

How about the link back? uhmm the link from top blogs Philippines is NO FOLLOW.. so it’s not much of a help too.

Disadvantage? It’s another outbound/ external link on your homepage (but I think you can always add no follow relevance on it).

Advice for new bloggers? If you want to put the widget on your blog, make sure that you have at least 200 UNIQUE visitors a day to enjoy the “Bragging rights” benefit of the site hahaha  kidding aside, based on the stats provided by Top Blogs, in almost all categories, those in first page got at least 200 unique page views everyday. Being on the first page of the directory will get your blog more exposure.
