Anything mommy blogger related here. This features blog events coverage. This blog also publish press release and write ups. Tips and tutorials on how to be an effective blogger.

This also include a list of top mommy blog in the Philippines.

In addition, here is the 5 SIMPLE STEPS TO BE A MOMMY BLOGGER:

1. Create a blog name that will represent you as a mommy blog. Sometimes it's good to include the noun mommy or mother or nanay.

2. Create an email the same as your blog name for branding purpose, in other words, for identification. After that, you can proceed to step 3 which is actually one of the most challenging part.

3. Open a blog. It has been debated for so many times which is the best blogging platform to use. For starters, I usually recommend blogspot because it is free. On the other han, if you are ready to shell out money, wordpress org is the best.

4. Design your blog. This sound like an easy task to do, it is actually, however, it can be very time consuming. The number of free templates for a blog is endless. To help you decide, set your blog tone and color. Will it be a dark themed blog? Light? What will be the primary colors? And from there, searching will be easier.

5. Lastly and most importantly, Start writing. The best way to start this is to introduce yourself. Likewise, you can also create a list of why you started a mommy blog. Or you can mention top 10 things that you would want your future readers to know about you.

Welcome to Gen Z: How To Engage The New Generation of Learners

We read and hear about it more often that we would intend to: the term Generation Z, a description for those born from around the mid-90s to the early 2000s, a group of young people who are now next in line to the Millennials. The previous generation has been described as tech-savvy, but now, young ones from the Gen Z have taken it to a whole new level: they are now digital natives. What this means is that they have spent almost all their growing up years completely surrounded by technology and immersed in digital environments through smart devices, such that up to a certain point, they have become dependent on these for daily life and learning.

In the field of education, the role of technology has become more and more prevalent, and yet not all approaches that blend with it seem to fit the needs of the Generation Z. Engaging these students, whose attention spans have all but dwindled to the speed of a scrolling and a swipe, is a matter as important as providing dynamic and innovative content. One suggestion that frequently opens up is the use of video content to immediately capture their attention and lay out a set of points which they may follow and then try to learn more about. Bite-sized content from video series and mini-lectures often catch their attention and end up getting them more curious about the topics. For them, personalizing everything is key, and at a time of instant communication and the struggle to become independent in just about everything, schools and educators need to understand what lies at the core of the Generation Z, what motivates and stimulates their attitudes towards learning.

With the new generation’s reliance on connectivity comes several aspects of learning that would shape the classroom of the future: instant access to information, whether it is facts, data, or discussions at length, has become the cornerstone of their digital experiences. For the Generation Z, it should be instant or it would no longer be as relevant or as useful, given how rapid everything else works in the digital space. Having grown up with a keen sense of multitasking and sifting through vast amounts of online information, Gen Z often decide over things with a click or a tap, often becoming impatient over the slightest delays. What is important, then, is to create value out of these given facts: to sustain learning environments that would encourage Gen Z learners to use information for the benefit of more people, discuss and reflect about it to better understand its implications, and moreover, use it in such a way that it transforms and disrupts through innovative solutions for everyone. This means that schools, as institutions of learning, must support the new generation’s thirst for active, flexible, and collaborative learning, one that drives towards the future with a spirit of independence and critical thinking.

At REX, we believe that every young learner must be engaged, as a Whole Child who deserves the best of everything that education brings. This means that aside from adapting to the changing needs of today’s generation of young learners, the need to engage them with the real world must also create real, lasting, and meaningful connections that teach them not only to be future-ready citizens, but also to be responsible stewards of the global community. By connecting students through small, active ways of engagement such as cooperative learning and project-based learning, we open and widen their curiosities to a world that thrives outside of the digital worlds that they’ve grown accustomed to. Campaigns to engage young learners with service learning, internships, apprenticeships, and volunteer projects with civic engagements that help them learn the value of community support and service to others. By immersing and including them through meaningful participation in real-world situations, we raise their awareness of the relevance of their decisions, small or big, in a changing world that needs them in the future. By teaching care and concern not just for others but also for the environment and the world at large, we connect the new generation with everyone, and let them understand their important role in shaping the future today.

While it may be true that the Generation Z’s attention span has all but dwindled, it is not too late to catch it. With the help of innovative learning solutions that deepen their engagement and ensure their success, we hope to help every young learner become engaged and responsible digital citizens.

LG Makes its Mark in Mindanao

LG Electronics, in keeping with its tradition of giving back to the community, recently paid a visit to The House of Hope in Davao.

The House of Hope Foundation, located inside the Southern Philippines Medical Center compound (SPMC), is a charitable group that provides temporary shelter to children with cancer. SPMC is the only hospital in the whole of Mindanao that offers free cancer treatment to children. Since a large majority of its patients are indigent families with no place to stay while they are undergoing treatment, the House of Hope provides a sanctuary for them.

On March 28, 2019, LG Philippines visited the brave families of the House of Hope. LG brought with them donations in-kind to improve the quality of life of the House of Hope’s residents. This includes over 27,000 various personal care products such as body wash, soap and toothpaste items, 5 43” Full HD TVs, 28 Dual Inverter Airconditioning units, 2 Top Load Washing Machines, and 2 Side by Side Refrigerators. The donations hope to help in making the environment conducive to the children’s recovery. LG Electronics Philippines Managing Director Inkwun Heo led the team that visited the children in Davao. “LG remains committed in creating social impact and being agents for change. These brave children serve as our inspiration. We hope that through our small gesture, we are able to enhance their quality of life”.

Giving back to the community has always been the heart of LG’s core values. Earlier this month, LG also partnered up with Emcor to conduct a small series of medical missions in Mindanao. Dubbed as #LGFamilyFunDay, these pocket events held in Koronadal in South Cotabato, Digos in Davao, and San Francisco in Butuan, gave out free full physical and optical check-ups to the members of the community during the morning. In the afternoon, special activities were held for children, such as coloring sessions, an LG inflatable castle, and even a dedicated Netflix viewing area, making it a fun-filled family affair that’s not to be missed.

LG Electronics Philippines managing director Mr. Inkwun Heo officially handed over to Dr. Mae Concepcion Dolendo, program director of House of Hope Foundation the 3 Million worth of LG products in a simple turnover ceremony held in Southern Philippines Medical Center, Davao City.

Ann Puno’s Kitchen For La Germania

Behind every great cook is a lifetime of fond memories of food and the people it was shared with. Ann Puno, the dessert genius behind Ann Puno’s Kitchen, is no exception. At 59,
Mrs. Puno is a formidable woman: she’s a multi-awarded baker, a successful entrepreneur,
a loving wife, a doting mother, and a cancer survivor.

Her journey from kid in the kitchen at her mother’s elbow to a matriarch and business woman running her own enterprise is a joy to follow; a rare feel-good tale of how one woman listened to her instincts and created a path of her own, lit by moments of love with friends and family.

How it all began

Like many Filipino children, Ann remembers watching her mother and grandmother prepare their meals, busily tending to several pots and pans on top of their trusty La Germania gas range in a well-lit kitchen. “I lived in the province where there were no bakeshops,” Ann says, “but I remember that every birthday, my mother would make us birthday cakes from scratch. Sometimes, she would even make donuts from scratch.”

Later, as a newlywed armed with the same La Germania oven she had watched her mother make her birthday cakes with, she kept baking. She created flavors that won over the Filipino palate, and her cakes grew in popularity. The rest, as they say, is history.

A language of love

Through the years, Ann has constantly improved upon her craft. With her trusty La Germania oven ever by her side, she has founded her business and created a complete system to keep her family well-fed and feeling well-loved.

As her children grew up, they learned to recognize the signs of her love. “They know that [making their favorite dishes] is a way that I offer them lambing, and comfort,” she says. Like her mom, she made birthday cakes for each of her children’s birthdays. When the kids came home, there were always snacks ready for them (and often, their friends). Even when they had grown up and their schedules became less predictable, they knew that their mom always had something waiting for them. “They know that when they come home, there is something good to eat. This is my act of service, this is how I show love,” she says.

Protecting her legacy

As her family grows and changes, her business expands, and her personal journey continues to take her in more directions, Mrs. Puno is dedicated to preserving all the memories that they shared through the years. She keeps records of the dishes she created in several notebooks filled with handwritten notes, some photos, and even mementoes. There’s a collection of books and scrapbooks filled to the brim and that she’s constantly adding to. This will be her legacy to her grandchildren, and for the people her family chooses to bring into their fold.

That, and maybe one of her ovens. She has one heavy duty La Germania oven that she only uses during peak seasons. On the off seasons, it gets thoroughly cleaned, packed up, and carefully stored in a shed behind the house. Knowing how sturdy these ovens are—Ann’s mother’s original oven is still in service after all these years—there’s a good chance her grandkids will still be able to bake in one of hers.

She has always told her children about the value of money and advises them that when you buy something, it should always be of value. Her La Germania oven is a great example. Being one of the most trusted brands in the market, these ovens are made for heavy-duty use, and with the proper care, can go for years without having to be maintained or repaired. That’s great value for money!

It’s the only brand Ann has ever used in her kitchen, and with good reason. Each oven has taken the demands of a growing family and a thriving bakery business in stride. So far, none of them have needed to be replaced, only repaired or added to. To date, she keeps two in her kitchen, another in their vacation home, and another in storage to be brought out when the demand for her baked goods exceeds the capacity of her two active La Germania ovens.

It has not been an easy life. But it is a rich, full one. “Sometimes, my husband and I like to think back on all we have gone through. Just talking about it, and being thankful, because even if we have had difficulties, we have always overcome them as a family. Looking at where we are now, we can truly say that we have made a home.”
