Creativity Adds Up on Valentine’s Day

Every Valentine’s Day couples scramble to secure reservations and gifts while single men and women sulk or celebrate their unattached status. If you happen to have someone in mid-February, odds are you spend an excessive amount of money to live up to Saint Valentine’s standards. The expectations of the holiday leave many searching for Valentine’s Day savings, specially those who haven’t heard of Offers.com yet. The day designated for chocolates and champagne has left couples looking for the obvious gifts and dates. Many couples forget that the best savings can come from creativity and a rejection of routine.

By observing how commercialized Valentine’s Day has become, it’s easy to wait until the last minute to buy a teddy bear and a card, go to the same restaurant, or go to the same theater year after year. The holiday gives you an obligation to do something romantic, but that doesn’t mean you have to accept the status quo. This holiday can give you the opportunity to save money by getting creative. The most thoughtful, romantic things rarely cost anything. For example, collect some lyrics from songs that remind you of your partner. Write a line on a piece of paper and leave it on the bathroom sink. Leave another on their windshield or car seat, and other places they’ll catch throughout the day.

Instead of spending time and money securing reservations to a restaurant, cook for your loved one. Even if you are a terrible cook, the thought alone will be more romantic than just about any restaurant. If you’d still like a date out of the house, save money and go out on a night other than Valentine’s Day. Surprise your lover by going out February 12. You won’t see as many lines, the service should be better, and you’ll save money. The most important thing to remember is that sometimes the most romantic things don’t cost any money at all. You can’t put a price on personal touch and creativity.

Online Shopping and Shipping

I love online shopping. Since I started earning online, most of my income goes to shopping. I frequent bidding online stores, I frequent children’s clothes stores, I even visit hardware stores. I enjoy looking through sites and finding the best bargain. I enjoy shopping for my kids the most. Like last year, I spend a hundred dollars for Sati’s clothes, good thing I found some coupon codes, I paid less because of the discount. I really can’t resist when ever I see something that I know will look good on my only princess. Hubby says I have been spending too much for our girl.

I must admit, I am really spoiling the little girl. Aside from the clothes I shopped last year (and none of them fits now), we are also waiting for a box from the US, a box full of her clothes, yes, her clothes again. I bought it on the same store and I was sad that I can no longer avail their discount promo codes, where in I can get as much as $10 off on my purchase. The site says, I can only use it once. I am a bit disappointed but still, that did not stop me from buying more clothes for her. We had it shipped last February 3 and have to wait for 4 to 6 weeks before we can see our purchase. That is how I managed to maximize discount codes that I found on online stores. I would buy items and apply the coupons and have it shipped on a relative in California. Then I would wait for more sales and discounts until the package box is full. When the box is full, the relative will call the courier service and have it shipped here.

We have been practicing that for almost two years now. The box that I am waiting will be our third since we started it and I hope it would take 3 to 6 months more before we begin our online shopping hobby. I have to stop buying more Sati’s clothes.

I Did It!

Last Friday night, we went to Green Hills to by the cheapest available phone for me. I don’t want to spend a lot on phone. For now, I am happy that I can use a phone for texting and for calls. I need a phone so mom can update me on our life insurance payments. And if you don’t know yet, Green Hills is a good place to shop for baby girl’s clothes. They sell affordable branded clothes (read:straight from factory). Although most items there are imitation, I can assure that most clothes for kids there are original. So while hubby looked around for the cheapest phone, me and my sister and Chico, spend some time looking for some shirt for the boys.

That was the hardest of it all. while looking for boys shirt, we found more than ten dresses (for Sati) that is so cute and would look good on her. I have to really, really stop myself from buying another dress for her. I already spend $200 for that princess (arghh! the bad part is I don’t feel any remorse!). And yes, I did it! Hard to believe but I did it! I did not spend a cent for Sati. Got the boys their new play shirts and two for Chico. Hubby bought a cheap colored phone. I told him I want the cheapest and yet he bought a colored one.
