Helpers: Do they really help?

I was about to post something about Sound of Music (I just finished watching it) but some tabs are opened and it is distracting my flow of thoughts (if I have one).. Closing them would be easier, only if I did not have to check each one why it is opened. Checking every tab, I landed on Maria and read on with some of her entries (out of focus attack). Her entry, about being a stay at home mom, reminds me of my house helps experiences.. and something about their responsibilities and all. Being a stay at home is a mixed, a roller coaster ride, experience.. there’s fun, there’s broken wares. There are tears, screams, spilled coffee, cakes, burps, farts. You experience everything toddlers has to offer, and not to mention chores. Then the biggest part of it, is the kid’s safety.. as a mom, you would not want anything to happen to your baby.. I am thinking how hard or big the responsibility of the nannies or helpers are. I mean, kids are left with them and they need to do their chores and still need to take care of the kids.. makes me think that their job is the next best thing to being a mom.. hard work less pay. A little money for lots of love.. this is making me furious.. it is just so feudal! that house workers are paid less.. why? it is because a house work is a woman’s work, a wife’s work.. oh crap with the equality thing.. we can never be equal as long as house helpers are paid less..

breathes.. sips coffee..

For my helpers experience.. oh well I only have two.. and both were not a good experience. The first one, lasted only for 4 months, the second, one month and half.. well, they could not tolerate me. How hard it can be? The were pissed off when I clean, once again, the bathroom that they spend the whole afternoon cleaning. They never liked it when I fold, again, the clothes that they even use tape measures to fold. What can I do? It’s not my fault. It’s the chemicals that working, blame it on my low serotonin level. They did not like it when I am around the house.. They are more comfortable working in an employer free home. I am a STAY at home mommy, what can I do.. Now that we have 3 kids, my hubby insist that we get another helper, to which I say no.. but chores and the kids keeps me away from blogging.. so maybe we’ll hire one again. I will just be busy (and tell the helper I am a WAHM.. they think of you less when you say you’re a stay at home) blogging and leave the chores and the kids to her. TEMPTING.
