Toy Hunt (round toys)

This week, we are hunting round toys! Be a toy hunter like us!

The toy: That was a steering wheel look alike baby toy. Manufactured by Shelcore. The wheel has various interactive buttons. The honk button honks and says “let’s go” and sings. The green and blue button also sings when pressed. The yellow button starts off like an engine when twist. I bought this last December in a warehouse toy sale. Actually, I don’t like this toy because it is battery operated. My sister thought it was really cheap, only 3 dollars, so she grabbed one for her son (who is as young as Chico). Well, Chico liked it too. I have to go back to the warehouse sale (wait for two hours in line) to buy him one.

We really had nice buys on the warehouse sale. Every December, the importers of toys like Barbie and Hotwheels hold their warehouse sale. Their warehouse is located in Libis QC (near Eastwood). The price were really low, discounts from 20 that goes up to 70%. They have Barbie, Hotwheels, Fisher Price, Mega Brands, Chicco, Shelcore, Oshkosh and more. The toys above are all from that sale. As I have mentioned, the wheel only cost me $3, while the baby soft book was a steal. It was priced $1 only! The bunny and the car was quite expensive (about $10), but judging from Chico’s reaction when he saw it, it was worth it. I also got some Mega Blocks toys for the two boys. Most of them were 50% off. I also had some Hotwheels track for only $10 (mall price was like $35 to $40)

If there is one thing I’d be looking forward this December, this is it.. Need to work my fingers out and do more typing job (I mean review and the sort) so Mommy can buy more toys (for her)

I can’t see clearly now..

I was inspired by fedhz to post my eye sight problem history. I was in grade school then and we were here in Manila (or Pasay to be exact) We were waiting for a cab because we were to watch Aiza’s movie (Wake up little suzie is it?). My head starts aching and I started vomiting on the pavement. I also graced the theater house floor with my dinner. My aunts rushed me to a nearest hospital and I was X rayed. It was still vivid on my mind, I remember the doc telling me that I can go home the morning after and I can have my donut. There was nothing wrong on my head (seems that xray cannot detect OCd harhar). I can’t remember what happened after that, if I was subject t more test or not. I only know that it was two years after before I was diagnosed with eye sight problem. I was in Grade three then and I had a hard time keeping up with the lectures. Good thing my godfather worked in an optical shop. They were shocked that my myopia(near sightedness)is that bad, my first grade was 300 or so. They gave a glasses which is lower than my real grade.. They said my eyes needed to adjust from having one fist before they upgrade it to the exact grade. I was so embarrassed to wear glasses then. My schoolmates were teasing me, they say I look Kris Aquino.. oh G! I just so hate it. Back then it was not a cool thing and people mistook you from being intelligent (and I so hate it). It took about a week before I wear the glasses full time. That was year 1990.. Eight years or so after that, I discovered that I also have astigmatism. A simple explanation would be, you loose focus, a single line to you may appear two lines or blurred lines at all distance. Eighteen years later, my astigmatism is worse. Here is the case, I can’t avail the one hour eyeglasses promo. I am only qualified for a week or longer wait for an eyeglasses. They say my lenses were processed type.. and is expensive. In a place where suppliers are located, my lens will cost $50 at minimum (excluding frames). Good thing that my myopia is not competing with my astigmatism.. Myopia give up and gave the floor to Astigmatism.

Getting older is expensive.. you just discovered a lot of unhealthiness in your body that needs to be taken care of.

note: My family has it in the genes. My sisters also have eye sight problems like mine.

Eggyolk Intolerance

Chico is 8 months now and I know for a fact that egg yolks is safe for babies that age. Yesterday I have him eat some egg yolks. Later that day, his face developed some rashes. Rashes started on his face, then to his tummy and spread into his arms and legs. Alarmed, we called his pediatrician and ask what is a good antihistamine for his age. The pediatrician prescription was to treat it with Zyrtec (Cetirizine dihydrochloride), 5 drops, once a day for 5 days. It seems he had developed egg yolk intolerance or egg yolk allergy (which is rare, so I hope not). According to a baby food site, that egg allergy appears when the body mistakes egg protein as a harmful substance, thus the body releases antibodies. Chico’s immune system is up and still fighting off egg proteins as he still have some rashes now. He is so red right now, good thing the redness on his stomach is gone and only some patches on his face is present. No more eggs for Chico for now..
