What Is Daylight Savings And The Start of Day Light Savings 2010

We often heard the term Daylight Savings specially when autumn starts. If we think about it more, it actually means, daylight saving time or DST. It is a practice of temporarily adjusting the clock and is practiced in most country. At the start of spring time, clocks are adjusted an hour forward and one hour backward at the start of autumn. This is done so as afternoons have more daylight and mornings have less. In general, the practice was done to reduce the use of light in the evening.

The effect of Daylight Savings are still controversial. There are studies that shows decrease on traffic accidents because of it. And the practice of adjusting the clock is also beneficial to people who needs sunlight even after office hours. And come to think of it, the presence of daylight even when the clock says 6 PM gives people the need to still do something like change their door knobs or clean the house. I think psychologically the effect of DST is good. A person, instead of feeling tired around 6PM, won’t feel that way since there is daylight still.
The Start of Day Light Savings 2010 varies around the globe. In some parts of Australia, the schedule of daylight savings time for 2010 starts October and will end on April. In the United states, it started last Marc and will end the first week of November. The Start of Day Light Savings 2010 for United Kingdom was March to October.

When I was a kid, the only thing that I can relate to Daylight savings is summer solstice. But of course, our country also experimented with DST for a short period of time. And same as the reason why DST was practiced, it was implemented so as to minimize the use of electricity. It was done during the presidencies of Corazon Aquino (1986 to 1992) and Fidel Ramos (1992 to 1998).
