This week’s theme is First Picture of Your Kids.

This is Chico, hours after I gave birth to him. He is still on the metal crib when I took this photo. The nurse said he still needs to be exposed to light to prevent jaundice. I, on the other hand, was so excited to hold him and nurse him. Feels like heaven, so overwhelming.

note: Although I would want to post first pictures of my two other kids, the problem is, we have no digital camera back then. Their first photos are stacked somewhere on my crafts box..

Sewing Project #1 (2009)

This is my first sewing project for this year. You will notice, as time flies, that I have a talent for starting a sewing project and lacks the talent to finish it. This year my first sewing project is Chico’s remote control. Kids at this age (6 months onwards) are attracted to anything black with small details, number one on their chew list is the remote control. It can be TV remote or DVD remote and when no remote on sight, cellphone keypad will do. SO to prevent any choking incidents, I thought of making a personalized remote for Chico. I found some old black shirt I bought in second hand store (intended for Halloween costume), then I found a piece of cloth with nice snowman details. All I need now is a foam to give the remote its shape.. A good 6x4x2 (in inches) foam will do. I intend to make small round buttons from the snowman cloth (and put some plastic sounding cloth inside it) then sew it in the black cloth and wrap the foam with it. VOILA! Cutesy remote control for my very cute Chico.
