Palabok Noodle And Seasoning Mix From Mc Cormick

I have no plans on turning this mommy blog into a food blog. It so happens that I am always angry err hungry most of the times. And just last week, I have been craving for Palabok. Not Jollibee kind of palabok or the one being sold at carinderias. HOME MADE. I want home made palabok! Palabok with lots shrimp, tinapa, chicharon and hard boiled eggs! YUMMY!!!!

But I don’t know how to cook the sauce! I have an idea but I don’t wanna dwell on it! In short, this momma is lazy again! NESTING. It’s called nesting LOL

Good thing I found this at Shopwise:

Palabok

Mc Cormick Palabok Noodle and Seasoning Mix

This is around 150 PhP and according to the label, it serves 4. If you’d include the cost for shrimp, tinapa, chicharon and egg, that would be around 240.. and it serves 4!! Yummy palabok for as low as 60 PhP!

Palabok

Looks really yummy right? IT IS!! The sauce is tasty. And the consistency is perfect, even the noodles. And the most important part, the ratio of the noodles and the sauce is just right. Walang sayang na noodles or sauce!

The package  includes 50 grams of McCormick Palabok Seasoning Mix and 150 grams of noodles

Here’s the instruction that can be found at the back of packaging:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • 125 grams of shrimp, shelled and boiled
  • 1 cup chicharon, crushed
  • 1 pc egg, hard boiled and sliced
  • 1 stalk spring onions, chopped

Directions:

  1. Cook noodles in a boiling water for 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Dissolve seasoning mix in 1 1/2 cups of water.
  3. Pour sauce over the noodles and add all toppings. Serve immediately.

I am planning to buy more Mc Cormick for future palabok cravings! Highly recommended meryenda for you and your kids!

Pregnancy Journey: Waiting In Vain

According to my Baby Center Pregnancy Calculator. my pregnancy journey is 39 weeks and 1 day. Marius is already full time but I don’t  know what’s taking him this long?!? I can’t wait to give birth to my baby. Kuya, Dico, Sangko and Ate are all excited. They can’t wait for their bunso na talaga. Husband is as excited as well. Actually, it’s quite a mystery to me.. even after 4 kids, my excitement for the coming one is still the same, even the husband! I guess that’s one of the many reasons why pregnancy is that long. It prepares the family physically, emotionally and financially.. and speaking of..

Pregnancy Journey

Pregnancy Journey Last Lap

Physically, my body is sooo ready! I feel so bloated! My hips are already complaining! I need to give birth really really soon! I am having a hard time sleeping. I can’t sleep, lying down is not an option. I wish I have the talent of sleeping while sitting! And my breast! It’s already leaking! I smelled like milk most of the day.

Emotionally, hellooo! Obviously, I am super excited. I still think about the other baby but it’s not a lump anymore. We’re lucky we still have Marius.. our baby Marius!

Financially, husband says we’re good. wooohooo! This will be my most expensive delivery. I’ll give birth at Cardinal Santos. I will be posting my delivery experience, how much to give birth at Cardinal Santos and about my OB. BUT FIRST!! I NEED TO GIVE BIRTH!

Honestly though, there’s a tiny part of me that’s scared. It’s been 6 years since I give birth.. I do not know if my body still remembers how to. And I can’t or I don’t want to remember the pain of labor.. or the first few hours after giving birth. But whether I like it or not, it is bound to happen and it would be better if it happens really soon! Yeah like tonight or tomorrow or on February 18 (para ka birthday ng Lola ko). I want my pregnancy journey to end really soon. I can’t wait for my breastfeeding journey to start!

Who can relate sa waiting in vain? Nakakainip ang last lap of pregnancy di ba?

Pan Seared Salmon For Valentine’s Day

Because it’s Happy Heart’s Day last Sunday.. we’re trying to eat healthier by including salad on our meals and more fish, less meat. And because Pan Seared Salmon is the perfect break we need from Kare Kare we had a day before Vday.

Pan Seared Salmon

Pan Seared Salmon

And lastly because it’s super duper easy and fast to prepare! AKA mom is tooo lazy to cook last Valentine’s Day!

So easy, you’d love preparing this everyday! If not for the pricey tag of Salmon… hahays!

Here’s what you need:

  • slice of salmon
  • salt and freshly ground pepper
  • thyme
  • 2-4 garlic (crushed)
  • 2-4 tablespoon olive oil

How to cook Pan Seared Salmon:

  1. Season salmon with salt and pepper
  2. Put some olive on a smoking hot pan (that’s the secret! Pan should be smoking hot!)
  3. Place the salmon.
  4. While salmon is cooking, place the garlic and thyme on the side.
  5. 3-5 minutes on each side.

Include greens on your meal to make this meal healthier!  Preparation time for this healthy Pan Seared Salmon recipe is just 10 minutes!

For my greens, I usually use romaine lettuce because it is very crunchy. I also love putting arugula because it kicks! And feta cheese with olives because it’s very tasty! I just discovered that olives and I can be good friends!

The olive oil from my feta cheese/ olives bottle is what I use as dressing.

Salmon trivia: Do you know that Salmon can go as high as 1000 Pesos per kilo?!? It’s too expensive!!! Salmon head is cheaper on the other hand and can be cooked as sinigang. I got my Salmon slice from Shopwise. It’s frozen but a bit cheaper. 4 slices of Salmon is 300 Pesos lang.

Love Salmon too? How do you like it? Raw or cooked?
