My #SarapNgSuccess Story: From A Failed Comm 2 Student To A Blogger

When we say success, I am tempted to say, I have 4 trophies..real live trophies aka my kids haha. Don’t we all consider raising kids a success story? It’s not an easy job di ba? Pero marami rami pang bigas ang isasaing ko bago ko masabi na succesful talaga ang pagiging mudra ko 🙂 So let’s talk about another success story in my life (err no, not when my prospect boyfriend said yes to me or when I finally convinced him to marry me haha), blogging ano pa!

Alam nyo ba na take 2 ako sa Communication 2? At tres lang ako sa Communication 1? Writing is my least favorite subject, oh let me rephrase that, I HATE writing! It’s the other way around, I think. Writing hates me. I am not good on it. I had a hard time writing an essay (kaya bagsak sa Comm 2 which is more on writing). And yet, I am now a blogger. Paano nangyari ‘yon?

My “writing” career started when a friend of a friend from Multiply posted about earning online through a forum site. It’s as simple as you post a question/ story or answer/ comment on other users’ post and you earn money. The earnings, is of course, dependent on how much or how long your post it. Being a first timer and knows nothing about earning online, I thought that was a good deal. Syempre to make my post longer, I need to know how to make kwento, long story. So I read a lot of how to’s in writing and from there I learned how to express  myself more. I don’t consider myself a writer naman (marami pa akong typo errors at grammar na i co correct before ko ma achieve ang ganyang level) but I think overtime, my way of communicating improved a lot. Give me that Comm 1 and Comm 2 courses now, baka ma uno ko yan! woohoo

That friend of a friend who referred me to the forum site eventually became my friend (and my kumare!). She told me about blogging and guide me on ins and outs of html, template, blog posting etc. She said we can earn more through blogging and true enough, our cents from the forum instantly became a dollar through blogging! I won’t dwell on the success of my online earnings, yes it is a success story, but there is so much more about blogging that is worth sharing:

Success story number 1. Finding friends and kumares. Most of Sati’s ninang are bloggers. And not only that, Pinoy bloggers from different countries. Ang galing no?

Success story number 2. Information Sharing. I realized later on that my passion is sharing information, specially to mommies like me. I consider it a success story because of the comments I received. I am at heaven when my readers shares with me how my blog post helped them.

Success story number 3. Blog Award . What is a success without an award? Joke lang no.. pero it’s a big deal for me. To be recognized as the best in something that you love doing is such a great experience. Proud ko lang? The award was 5 years ago pero naka display pa rin sa sidebar ko :)

Success story number 4. Writing about products I love and collaborating with them, the highlight, me being a commercial model for a product I love using!

I think this is one of the things I enjoy most about blogging. Say for example, Max’s Restaurant, we love dinning at Max’s and to be able to write about their new products, get invited to their event is a success story for me.

Chico’s birthday celebration at Max’s

And speaking of Max’s Restaurant, Watch Coco Martin’s 2nd TVC and know more about his max-sarap na kwento ng success. Be inspired with how he was able to rise up to life’s challenges and become one of the most loved stars of today. Like Coco, Max’s success is rooted from traditions, values and relationships. Dito sa Max’s, kaisa mo kami sa pag abot ng iyong pinakamasarap na pangarap! #SarapNgSuccess

Now, Max’s wants you to share your own success story! Just like what I did!

Share what makes your day successful at Max’s Restaurant Facebook Page.

Kwento nyo din sa akin your success story, I want to know and be kilig of your success 🙂

Electrolux Launches Delightful-E Yummy Campaign With A Housewarming Party

We love housewarming parties, don’t we? Visiting a friend’s new home and talking about their new home or just having fun lounging at their new sofa is such a delightful experience. Can I tell you a secret? As early as now, my housewarming party is already planned.. bahay na lang ang kulang! Planned up to the housewarming giveaway.

And speaking of housewarming party, I attended a bongang house warming party last week. Bonggang food, bonggang agency, bonggang housewarming program at bonggang housewarming giveaway (kabog ang plano kong pa housewarming giveaway, kalurks!).

Obvious naman sa title ko di ba? The bonggang housewarming party is from Electrolux. It was held at their new office at Bonifacio Global City. We were treated with good food, games and a cooking show from cooking show with a twist wherein Electrolux brand endorsers— celebrity chef Chef Bruce Lim, and mompreneur Janice Villanueva— shared family recipes that have touched their lives.

Andrea Pionilla, Marketing Manager, Electrolux Philippines, Inc. shares what Delightful-E Yummy is all about, ““Electrolux believes that the kitchen is the heart of the home. Delightful-E Yummy capitalizes on the simple yet most treasured family moments spent inside the kitchen as well as the stories that come with it.”

And to make the Delightful-E Yummy campaign more personal, Electrolux brand endorsers share their own Delightfull- E stories:

“The best thing about being an Electrolux brand endorser is that I am able to promote strong family ties with the brand,” says Cheska Kramer, a celebrity mom of three and wife to basketball star, Doug Kramer. “Doing simple chores with the family becomes bonding moments with the help of Electrolux home appliances.”

Having a newborn baby in the house is a big joy to us,” says Chef Rosebud Benitez-Velasco, who recently gave birth to her baby, Kaeden. “But now I have less time for cooking and doing household chores. I love having Electrolux products because they are reliable and easy to use. Having these as my assistants in the kitchen and around the house really cut down the list of things I need to worry about.”

Janice Crisostomo-Villanueva founder of Mommy Mundo, a family-focused online portal comprised of an active community of over 30,000 women shared her quick Bangus Belly recipe.

“With everything I am juggling, sometimes it’s tough to find time to bond with my family,” shares Janice. “This is why I enjoy weekends when there are less things to attend to. I spend more time in the kitchen baking and preparing our family’s favorite dishes—sometimes my children stay and watch, and learn how to do the recipes as well.”

Chef Bruce Lim naman shared his Creme Adobo Penne Pasta

He told us that this dish is a comfort food for him, a dish that he shares with his brother.

It taste so good and so easy to prepare! Lalo pa na we all love adobo. After learning this recipe, I’ll make sure to cook more adobo so I can use the left over for Creamy Adobo Penne Pasta.

Chef Bruce Lim shares, “I am proud to be working with Electrolux, a brand that puts importance to the value of family. Families need not go out of the house to bond; even doing simple chores at home can be enjoyable when done together. I bring my son with me to the kitchen so he can watch and learn what I love to do, and I tell him stories about the dishes I make too.”

After the cooking show, we had fun with Bloggers’ Feud game…much like the popular game, family fued. Questions such as top household chores, top food cooked by pinoys were asked. A game on a housewarming party is a nice idea no? I’ll include that on my plan! haha

Electrolux’s Housewarming Party was one Delightful-E Yummy event!

It was also a day of delightful announcements as Electrolux also kicked off its digital campaign with the Delightful-E Yummy online photo contest, Delightful-E Yummy Web Series on Youtube, and Your Moments with Mommy consumer contest.

Buying 101: Getting To Know Price Comparison Website

When I was looking for the perfect mobile phone, one of my consideration was the price (and as mentioned in my LG G2 review, the camera and the processor). I need one that is not too expensive or something that matches its quality with its price. And when I choose LG G2 to be my new phone, I looked around for LG G2 Philippine price before buying one.

Search results brought me to Pricepanda, which I initially though, is an online gadget shop. It turns out, it is a price comparison website. It features products such as mobile phone, laptops, home appliances, books, music and even some clothes! Pricepanda does only provide price comparison, it also provide great information about gadgets and other products on their blog. If you’re planning to buy a laptop you might want to check out this post from Pricepanda, it talks about what you need to know when buying a laptop in the Philippines.

But, what is a price comparison website?

First time to read “price comparison website”? Obviously, it is not a real shop. A price comparison website is a platform that shows list of products and their prices from different shops. Think of it as product canvassing (like the thing you do when you’re in the market looking for the cheapest veggies or fruits), only you do it online.

I guess that’s the good thing about Pricepanda, I was able to compare LG G2 prices before buying one. In that case, I was able to save and didn’t have to run around the Metro asking for LG G2 price. Check out their website and tell what you think!

Do you also compare prices before buying? Share your buying tips with us!
