April Fools’ Day Prank

SO! I am back!

I won’t STOP blogging.. ever!

My Final Curtain post is an April Fool’s Prank.. and though some of my friends and readers (I posted it under the humor category LOL) didn’t believe it, some expressed concerns. Actually, I received some sweet notes from an FB community I belong..didn’t expect that.. it’s very heart warming! And a few pm’s from my friends asking if I would really stop blogging..

not bad, for a first time prankster LOL

Honestly, I can’t see myself closing this blog (not because I have 2 years paid hosting).. I really enjoy what I am doing (even without earnings or blog events). I just love sharing my thoughts and information.

So in the spirit of sharing, do you know where, when and how April Fools’ Day Started?

The history of April Fools’ Day as suggested by Wikipedia, it is in Iran where it all started, read on;

In Iran, jokes are played on the 13th day of the Persian new year (Nowruz), which falls on April 1 or April 2. This day, celebrated as far back as 536 BC, is called Sizdah Bedar and is the oldest prank-tradition in the world still alive today; this fact has led many to believe that April Fools’ Day has its origins in this tradition.

But this theory is the best (source);

Constantine and Kugel

Another explanation of the origins of April Fools’ Day was provided by Joseph Boskin, a professor of history at Boston University. He explained that the practice began during the reign of Constantine, when a group of court jesters and fools told the Roman emperor that they could do a better job of running the empire. Constantine, amused, allowed a jester named Kugel to be king for one day. Kugel passed an edict calling for absurdity on that day, and the custom became an annual event.

“In a way,” explained Prof. Boskin, “it was a very serious day. In those times fools were really wise men. It was the role of jesters to put things in perspective with humor.”

This explanation was brought to the public’s attention in an Associated Press article printed by many newspapers in 1983.

The thing is, the story is a hoax and AP has been a victim of an April Fools’ Day Prank.

They say that one of the best April Fools’ Prank was the Swiss Spaghetti Harvest. In 1957, BBC’s Panorama reported a family in Switzerland harvesting spaghetti from a tree (and there was a photo!). Many people believed the story.. OK, that was foolish, well, during that time, pasta is considered as an exotic delicacy, so many were hopefuls that they can grew one from their own backyard.

And for modern time pranking, The Huffington Post suggested a few pranks:

Donuts x Mayo.. is it just me or I can actually eat this kind of food.  ( photo source)

Another food prank.. now.. that one is CRUEL! (source)

This one, I hope my kids will never learn about this wooohoo this will send me flying off my seat wahaha (source)

This one takes the cake, for me at least. I can imagine myself doing this to a friend (or to my brother or to my sister) and die laughing while they picks up their mobile phone wahahahaha

How’s your April Fools’ Day prank? Please don’t tell me you did the I’m Pregnant Prank AGAIN this year!

P.S. I initially thought of posting an FB status saying goodbye to blogging..that’s too easy to do..so I made an emotional post instead, making it more believable hehe

The Final Curtain..

After posting Plants vs Zombies 2 World 4 (Far Future), I realized blogging has taken a lot of my time.. I don’t have time to play my favorite games.. and finish my chores.. gaya ngayon, tatlong basket na naman ang labahin ko.. and there were 4 baskets of clean laundry waiting for me. haaays

I know blogging has given me a lot. I met some great people through blogging.. Sati’s godmothers are all bloggers…

I learned a lot from blogging..

my passion is not writing.. I blog to inform..and though my desire to help and inform (specially fellow moms) is still burning,  I can’t do it anymore. Time is my enemy.

And with tears flowing..let me do my final act..

Thank you dear friends for showing support to this blog.. to my family, close friends, marce club, ranchers and all the community that helped me..

Thank you my dear readers for making this blog alive through your comments and support (specially to my giveaways)..

Thank you to all the ad agencies and PR companies I have met..specially to those that made it past the blogger-pr relationship..

Thank you blogger, wp, godaddy and bluehost for the technical aspect of this blog..

and most of all, thank you my dear husband for allowing me to to blog.. for being the best husband in the world, for making it possible..

Goodbye Blogging..

Plants vs. Zombies 2 Last World: Far Future, Released!

Plants vs. Zombies Far Future World

Finally, Plants vs Zombies 2 World 4 is released..which we all thought was the PVZ2’s last world (turns out it is not). I don’t know the exact date of the release but I have been playing this world/ level for some days already.

Here’s a description of Far Future from PVZ2 wiki:

In the year 2323, the zombies will have brain extraction down to a science. Can the plants of the future save you from the undead of tomorrow?

The new world is cool, futuristic (hello? haha) but I still prefer playing Ancient Egypt world.

Plants vs Zombies Far Future World

Futuristic plants (hello laser! haha) comes with it! So far, here the Far Future plants I unlocked:

  • Laser Bean> fires down a lane, hitting all zombies ahead of it
  • Citron> shoots powerful balls of plasma (needs to recharge)
  • Blover> blows away all zombies in air (so many mini space ships!)

There’s a level/ day (day 4)  where in you need to beat the zombies and you get suns from Sun Bombs (you need to wait for the beam to go down to produce a sun, if you touch it mid way, it will explode, killing zombies or damaging a plant)

The exciting thing that comes with World 4 is the Zen Garden:

PvZ2 Zen Garden

As you play along Far Future, you will receive new plants and diamonds. Each plant need some watering and more waiting.. it produces coins 3 times (with intervals of minutes, hours and a few more hours). After 3rd production, the plant dies and you need to plant another one. You can speed up the production using the diamonds. A bee also appears which also lessens the waiting time.

The plants from Far Future are all new! If you’re a Plants vs Zombies 1 fan and misses the mushroom, PvZ2 wiki said that according to The Cutting Room Floor website, mushrooms will be introduced on World 5, which is the Dark Ages world. I can see a castle from the silhouette! Soooo.. are we expecting horses and zombies in shinning armor? OH MY!! I can’t wait for that world!

But before that. let me finish Far Future first haha
