WeChat Rolls out Stickers for Women’s Day: Mommy Pehpot aka Miss Live Wire

In celebration of Women’s Month this March, WeChat rolls out a new set of stickers available via its Sticker Shop. And so I asked a few friends which sticker/ character suits me, almost all answered Miss Live Wire:

Mukhang namang tama sila hahaha

Eto si Miss Live Wire:

These are the alpha females, the go-getters, and the starters whose prowess to soldier on often wins the day. Born with equal amounts of energy and blood pumping in their veins, they are the epitome of this year’s theme for International Women’s Day: Inspiring Change. An ideal match for this group’s get-up-and-go attitude is WeChat’s Group Chat feature, which lets them rally multiple contacts and circles—up to 100 people in two chat groups—in one go.

Definitely a go- getter! Remember the Frozen Party where I diyed almost everything? The Olaf fondant cake included.. and I have no background on baking, I just learned how to bake this year and no background on fondant too, but when I said I’ll make an Olaf fondant cake, I will make one.

Pero there’s a little  Miss Sweetness Alive on me naman 🙂

Refined in nature and as charming as the female protagonists in children’s storybooks, these women are built with warmth and without a single bitch bone in their bodies. Their innate ability to make others feel comfortable makes them the go-to people for sound advices and just about any conversation that hits close to home. Spot them on WeChat Moments sharing quick DIY posts or motivational photos for everyone’s dose of TLC.

And a little bit of Miss Atlas Trouper (because I love maps! Haha)

Ever mobile and fueled by a growing range of influences, these women are the natural wanderers of the world. Breaking through boundaries is where it’s at for these folks and hitting the road is their way of responding to their internal quests. Easily detectable, atlas troupers are the first ones to use WeChat’s location-sharing and discovery features such as Shake, Friend Radar, and People Nearby to mark their lives’ checkpoints while looping in their social groups.

Miss Get Happy will never me daw, kase  I tend to intimidate people LOL hindi po ako nangangain ng buhay, I can be Miss Get Happy if I want to hahahaha

Radical in the way they act and always able to churn out inventive thoughts, this group is comprised of people who never fail to raise spirits up with their lightheartedness, infectious laughter, and sunny disposition. In the spirit of painting the town happy, this bunch can count on WeChat to easily surprise friends through picker-uppers in the form of Hold-to-Talk voice notes and video calls.

How about you ladies? Which sticker represents you?

Western Union® Mother’s Pride Contest

Yesterday was third son’s moving up ceremony.. he’ll be Grade One this coming school year.  I am very proud of him for his achievement.. my third boy who is the shyest of them all is now a graduate (or a mover as k-12 rule says no graduation for preschoolers hehe)

I am sure OFW moms wish to celebrate graduation with their kids here in the country, and Western Union heard that. That is why Western Union pays tribute to mother’s love.

PRESS RELEASE:

Rewarding Filipina moms with the chance to celebrate Graduation Day with their child back home

United Kingdom, March 17, 2014 – Ten Filipina working moms in the United Kingdom (UK) will get to spend a special Graduation Day dinner with their child in the Philippines as a reward for their unwavering dedication to providing a better life back home, The Western Union Company (NYSE:WU), a leader in global payment services, announced today.

Through the Western Union® Mother’s Pride contest, the top ten Filipina moms in the UK who post their sweetest picture of themselves and their graduating child on Facebook (www.facebook.com/WesternUnionUK), Twitter or Instagram (#Wumotherspride) and collect the most votes, will be rewarded with two Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 tablets each to stay in touch with their loved ones, starting with a specially prepared “online dinner” to celebrate their child’s graduation.

With the POEA estimating at least 220,000 Overseas Filipinos and a growing need for nurses and caregivers in the UK, more and more Filipinas every year are making the choice to leave the country to create a brighter future for their loved ones back home.

Education is consistently a top consideration for migration among most working Filipina mothers.  Research shows the allocation of monthly remittances include paying for tuition fees, and other school related expenses like  baon or allowances1.

“Filipinos are a close-knit community. We value our family ties more than anything in the world. As a full-time working mom who needs to travel frequently, I know the hardest part for a Filipina in working overseas is being away from family and kids.  And to a mother, there’s nothing more fulfilling and telling of one’s hard earned success than the graduation of her child,” said Patricia Riingen, senior vice president, Southeast Asia & Oceania, Western Union.

“Western Union ‘Mother’s Pride’ aims to amplify this affection.  It is also our tribute to a mother’s love,” Riingen added.

The Western Union® Mother’s Pride contest runs until March 24, 2014.  For more information, please visit www.westernunion.co.uk/WUmotherspride.  Terms and conditions apply.

As you let out a weary sigh, you realize that your home appliances can take care of all these. You see the MAB cleaner scanning your house and deploying its flying mini-robots to the areas in need of cleaning. Meanwhile, an Atonium 3D Food Printer has determined your nutritional needs and is working on a healthy meal for you. At the same time, the Breathing Wall started to purify the air while recreating an environment that will help you relive a happy memory. Imagine this futuristic scenario made possible by you.

This advanced home is the brainchild of the top three winners at last year’s Electrolux Design Lab competition.
