Frozen Birthday Party

Let it gooooooo

And who said Frozen birthday party is just for girls? I get that a lot whenever I mentioned our celebrant is a boy.. excuse me! FROZEN is one of the most gender friendly movie I have seen.

Frozen Birthday Party Invitation

Let’s start with the invitation.. by now, you have noticed how much I go for personalized items, my invites are always personalized (pet peeves alert!). Our party was attended by 30+ kids, so I made 30 invites.. it’s not too personalized naman, I just made sure that their names are printed together with the invite.. not the kind of invite that leaves the name blank and you just fill it up.

Frozen Birthday Party Favors
Frozen Birthday Party Loot Bags

The party favors.. I thought I would have a hard time looking for blue party favors, turns out, there is so much blue at the supermarket! For the loot bags, some blue candies and cookies and for the prizes, more blue!

Frozen Birthday Party Piñata

The Frozen inspired piñata was the snow flake from the Let It Go scene.. took a lot of editing then had it printed in tarp and used as base.. inside was a small box filled with blue candies (initially, I plan on putting some white confetti inside, to make it look like snowing, time was my enemy)

For the games, we had complete Olaf face (what do you call that game??) and used the Olaf standee (supposed to be a standee but I had to stitch it to the curtains since I can’t make it stand.. standee is too expensive!), we also had Marshmallow relay and longest let it goooooooo

The music, of course, Frozen soundtrack! Non stop Let It Go! Thank goodness for our sound link mini, the music was not a problem.

The costume. The celebrant asked for a Kristoff costume.. Kristoff costume it is! I think I used 3 or 4 kinds of clothe to make a Kristoff costume.. it’s all worth it.. and thank you 2nd hand clothes!

THE CAKE

save the best for last…

as in I didn’t sleep Thursday night just to finish this cake.. and I have no background on baking, much more fondant.. but it turns out so good (er for a first timer haha). Our Olaf fondant cake is so worth it!

Frozen Birthday Party

There you have it, a Frozen Birthday Party for a boy.

The Cream Factory SCRUB-in-a-TUB

My usual self is happy, on the go and full of ideas.. my other self (the one suffering from OCD) gets depressed for no reason at all.. that’s one of the “perks” of having an OCD. I never let that side of me overpower my happy disposition in my life and when it starts to show signs of attack I end with a me time.

ME TIME means a long bath with hot oil and scrub + mani ( I do my own) and make up. That’s how I soothe my OCD 🙂 And this is my current scrub obsession:

I got to try The Cream Factory Bath Cream from last year’s Glamourbox Secret Santa box. After trying it out, I noticed that the smell actually lingers on the skin, also I noticed that my skin is less dry with it. So when I was asked to try out The Cream Factory SCRUB-in-a-TUB, I said yes.

I am not your usual beauty geek, I did not even noticed if the scrub is doing good on my skin (the fact that The Cream Factory Bath Cream made my skin less dry was a realization after I was asked if I noticed how less I put lotion after trying the cream> I only apply lotion on my skin when it becomes flaky> bad girl!) What I like about the scrub is it smells fresh (not overpowering) and I feel very clean after using it. My mom, on the other hand, said she noticed that some of her dark spots lightened (she’s a better reviewer than me! hahaha she’s using an anti wrinkle product and she can make a good review out of it..maybe, it’s about time to have her as my guest reviewer in this blog no?)

I also like the fact that it is in a tub and the tub opens up easily (unlike the bath cream, packaged in a bottle, kinda hard to dispense).

And the tub I got for free is empty! Time to buy another tub 🙂

The Cream Factory SCRUB-in-a-TUB comes in 6 variants and grouped in 3, salty, creamy and yummy. The one I got is Goat’s Milk & Witch Hazel with salt as base. I love salt based scrub (feel na feel ko ang scrubbing haha), I can’t wait to try the Goat’s Milk & Seaweed.

I will also buy a tub for Sati.. yes, she’s too young for body scrubs, but since her legs are super flaky, she needs some scrubbing to exfoliate the skin (too much dead cells). I think the best variant for her is the creamy ones, the mildest and most gentle among the three. Now, I am quite torn which one to get, Jojoba or Honey?

The last among the three is the yummy, when I was asked to choose which ones I like the most, cinnamon takes the cake. I LOVE ANYTHING CINNAMON! (kaso walang stock that time, so I end up with Witch Hazel) Siguro before the Witch Hazel, I’ll try the Cinnamon first.. and with cocoa bean bits, I can now skip dessert, sa skin ko na lang muna haha

Buti na lang may date kame ni Sam later sa Robinsons Galleria..makakabili ng bagong tub 🙂 yes, it is available in Robinsons Galleria Supermarket 🙂

What You Need To Know About Vitamin D Deficiency And How To Prevent It

A voluntary blood testing was performed among 369 randomly selected Metro Manila office workers and the results revealed that 58% were vitamin D- deficient while 30% shown to have insufficient levels of vitamin D – Philippine College of Occupational Medicine (PCOM)  director Dr. Marilou Renales

It was surprising to know that there is such a thing as Vitamin D Deficiency.

Vitamin D is an essential vitamin that can be manufactured by our own body with sunlight exposure. The sunlight exposure required to get the enough Vitamin D needed by our body depends on the time of the day, geographical location and your skin pigmentation. Dark skinned people needs more sun exposure since eumelanin (the most common type of Melanin) acts as natural sun screen protection. But we all know how sun exposure can be damaging to the skin, nyaks! So where to get Vitamin D?

Vitamin D can also be found in food, such as milk, but you need to consume a lot. An 8 ounce glass of milk contains 100 IUs of vitamin D, our body needs 800 IU of Vitamin D, do the math.

Can you drink that much milk in one day? Wait! Why do we need Vitamin D? What are the effects of having less Vitamin D?

Our body needs Vitamin D for calcium absorption and promote bone growth. Other benefits that we can get from Vitamin D:

  • Healthy Body Weight
  • Aids the immune system
  • Recovery from TB
  • Cancer Risk and Management

What happens when we have Vitamin D deficiency?

With the above mentioned benefits from Vitamin D, I guess you now have an idea what happens when you don’t have enough Vitamin D in your body. Since Vitamin D aides in the absorption of Calcium, Vitamin D deficiency has a great effect on our bones. Rickets and osteomalacia are some vitamin D deficiency diseases.

Aside from sunlight and food, another way to get the enough Vitamin D our body needs is through supplement. The newest product from Unilab, a Vitamin D supplement, was recently launched:

Forti- D, the latest vitamin D supplement in the market, is a single- dose supplement that contains 800 IU of Vitamin D. “Taking one capsule of Forti- D every day helps reduce the rick of getting chronic diseases by unlocking the proper function of organs typically affected by such illnesses,” said Alex Panlilio, Unilab VP for consumer health.

Forti- D is now available in the market, sold at P6.50 (SRP).
