Payday to Payday Living

Payday lenders are thriving in today’s economy. This is no small wonder since just about everyone is stretched really tight financially. They may have experienced a job layoff or reduction in hours that makes living from payday to payday barely possible. When something unexpected happens, it creates a hardship.

Very few folks have a pile of cash stashed away for new tires or a root canal. Even so, both expenses are important. Some people can take out an installment loan from their bank or a finance company. But then they are saddled with months and months of installment payments, leaving them stretched even thinner than they were before. To get a bank loan or a loan from a finance company, a potential borrower needs to have good credit.

So what can those people with less-than-perfect credit, or even bad credit, do if they are hit with an unexpected expense? Many are choosing to borrow money from a payday loan company.

A payday loan is a short-term loan that must be paid back on the borrower’s next payday. Payday loans, also called cash advances, have a loan term of roughly 14 days.

The average cost of a payday loan is roughly $15 per $100 borrowed, depending upon the borrower’s state of residence. These charges and interest may seem high, but where else can a borrower get a loan on the spot? Most loans have to go through an underwriting process, a loan committee and a final approval before funding. A payday loan is completed in less than a day.

If a borrower is not able to pay back the payday loan when it becomes due, many payday lenders will allow the borrower to just pay the interest and fees and roll the loan over until the following payday. Other payday lenders will allow borrowers to restructure their payback amount in a lower-interest installment loan with a term of three to 18 months for affordable monthly payments.

Many payday lenders also provide tax services and auto title loans. An auto title loan uses the borrower’s car as collateral and is nothing more than an installment loan. The title to the car is surrendered to the lender until the loan is paid off. Then it is returned to the borrower.

Surprising Effect of Lack of Sleep for Babies

Exam week is almost over! Well, we still have a few exam next week.. but we’re done with the major subjects. At alam nyo naman pag exam week, minsan hindi maiiwasan ang hindi magpuyat.. masakit na nga ang ulo ko haha I badly need my 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep! (as if that would be possible LOL).. but more than my need, I noticed how my first suffers from our lack of sleep. Arriving from school, he would go straight to the bedroom and sleep.. I can sense how exhausted he was.. and he a bit cranky too. He’s not his usual cheerful and playful self. I know it’s my fault.. knowing the importance of sleep, I shouldn’t have let him stay up late.. OK this will be the last time I will do it. Promise.. I’ll be a better momtutor next grading.

From our experience, that’s the usual effect of lack of sleep, crankiness, loss of appetite and sometimes lack of foucs.. kawawa naman ang mga bagets pag ganyan ang mode nila.. mas OK pa na laging riot kesa makita mong matamlay sila.. kaya promise talaga, that would be the last time that I will let them stay up late for reviewing.. umpisa pa lang ng third grading eh maghahanda na ako ng bongga haha

But there are surprising effects of lack of sleep for babies. An article from Children’s Hospital Michigan says:

What’s more, a study in Pediatrics confirmed that childhood sleep deficiencies may not only have immediate effects, but may be linked to future problems, including decreases in mental functioning that begin as early as adolescence. Increasing evidence also suggests that poor sleep contributes to major health problems, such as obesity.

You read the full article here.

OBESITY? seriously?!?

Another article published in Harvard Shcool of Public Health confirmed that lack of sleep can lead to obesity, in fact in a study in New Zealand, the conclusion was: Each one hour reduction in sleep during childhood was associated with a 50 percent higher risk of obesity at age 32.

How come? I am sure you also want to know how lack of sleep can lead to obesity?

I also want to know..obesity is a serious case and of course, as a mom I want to prevent it.. but it is now known yet how lack of sleep influence weight but researchers cited a theory on how lack of sleep can lead to decreased physical activity and also can lead to increase in food intake. A second theory was mentioned which focuses on hormones that regulate body weight. Although the studies have made for adults and not for children, the theory is still considered.

Are you as surprised as I am how lack of sleep can affect our babies? It’s a long term effect moms, so really have to know our kids more in the sleep department. Know the Most Common Reasons Why Babies Wake Up At Night and how to avoid it.

Warm Up Routines to Prevent Football Injuries

womanstretching

Football is a game of fast paced acceleration, quick changes in direction and stamina; which is exactly why injuries are so common. Whether you are a football player yourself, or you take your children to play on a Sunday you will need to protect against injuries during a match. As with any sport one of the most important aspects is to have completed a thorough warm up before the game begins.

Here are some of the best warm up routines to keep you safe when you’re out on the field.

Start by warming up your muscles

Muscular injuries in football are extremely common, mainly because of the speed at which you will lunge for the ball. This puts strain on not only your leg muscles, but your back and arms. It is so important to start off your match with a thorough muscle warm up to get the blood pumping to the right areas and to protect against damage.

There are many tried and tested methods to warming up your muscles before any exercise and which one you choose really is your choice. The main one for footballers is to do as many repetitions of lunges as possible. This will work your inner thighs and groin, which are the most commonly pulled and torn muscles in this sport. Start with repetitions of ten lunges on each leg, for a total of 5 repetitions.

Along with lunges, you will also want to warm up your feet, calves, back and arms. For this you can do toe touches and don’t worry if you can’t touch your toes; your lower back and legs will still feel the strain. Try some trunk twists, neck rotations, push ups and arm rotations. Make sure that you do adequate repetitions of each of these muscle stretches to maintain their strength. A full stretching warm up should last between 15-30 minutes as long as it is mixed with some cardio.

Cardio Warm Ups

A cardio warm up is just as important as the above, firstly because it will prevent injury and secondly because it will aid in your muscle warm up by pumping the blood to the right areas. Cardio workouts before a football match will keep you going throughout the quick sprints and quick play changes that are expected in football.

Cardio warm ups can follow many forms, with the easiest being running laps of the pitch before the match starts. If you choose to do a warm up this way then there are two important things to remember. Firstly, you will need to mix together sprinting and jogging; don’t stay at one speed the entire time. This will get your body used to the quick pace changes during the match. Secondly, you need to do more than just a single lap, obvious to say and it is tiring, but it is equally important.

Other cardio warm ups can include:

  • Star jumps for 15 minutes
  • Running on the spot
  • Skipping
  • Speed walking

Once you have covered both types of warm ups you will be ready to play the game. Don’t forget though that afterwards you need to cool down, this will cut out pain and swelling after the match ends.
