Chasing Pavements

Thursday already? ang bilis talaga ng araw!

This got to be my most productive week since the year started. That’s in terms of chores and blogging ha.

Of course the house was a mess, as usual, but the thing is, I was able to finish my laundry and folded the clothes neatly. Although I still need to iron a few clothes, folding is what consumes most of my time. And that is one thing I cannot trust even to my mom. My OCD is not forgiving with untidy folded clothes (dapat mall like ang pagkaka tiklop no). There was 5 or 6 baskets of clothes to be folded and today there’s only one left..kaunting kaunti na lang at matatapos din! I had to finish that before I do out laundry this weekend.. weeh time management!

In terms of blogging, I updated a few blogs and now I’m off to doing some of my tasks..in one day I wrote 20+ articles for 3 blogs.. sabaw na sabaw utak ko that day! And I learned that I should take more photos.. everything should be treated unusual, even things you will not need such as toggle clamps.. lamang blogs din yan, specially if you need to write so many blog posts.. you will need all the topics you can get.

Aside from updating some of my blogs, I already updated the security features… back up and tweak Better WP Security.. changed passwords and log in details.. but I still can’t understand the plug in..I’ll have to ask my geek about it and will share it with you once I understand all the terms there. Nakakapraning lang with the plug in, I got notifications na ang daming log in attempts sa blogs ko.. parang mas maganda pa na hindi ko alam hahaha pero with all the attacks going right and left, it pays to be secured.

And with my productivity, the one who suffered the most is Adele.. yan ang aking national anthem the whole time I was writing articles.. Chasing Pavements.. in fairness, feel na feel ko talaga na I was chasing pavements.. and hopefully it will lead me to something 🙂

Our Plumbing Experiencing

Can you imagine a life without plumbing? No hot water, no drainage and no clean water to drink. I can’t imagine a life like that. Of course there was a time in our history where plumbing was not yet invented, but that was a long long time ago. Plumbing was here as early as 2700 B.C or even earlier than that. It was developed because of the need for potable water and drainage of waste water. Nowadays, more sophisticated plumbing is being practiced and plumbing companies are here to offer plumbing service for our convenient. At local Rotorooter, for example, they offer not just emergency plumbing service but as well as full service plumbing and drain cleaning.

Last year, I had a problem with our drainage. Our drainage was not functioning properly. At first we thought it was the sink that’s causing the problem but when the drainage in our laundry area started giving us trouble, we know it was a bigger problem. Imagine, whenever I need to do the laundry, I had to take out the washing machine outside to prevent flooding the laundry area. That is quite tasking and time consuming. We called a plumber in our area and I was surprised with how much it will cost to repair our drainage system. The plumber said, he needs to drill our system and re install a new drainage. The whole procedure will take 2-3 days. Our land lord suggested other wise. She asked the plumber to check the drainage outside first and good thing she mentioned that. We found out what seems to be the problem. Our pipe was below the street drainage, so that’s why the water is not flowing out. He just cut a few inches from our pipe and the drainage is functioning again. It saved me a lot, the cost was reduced to half and it only took a few hours to finish the job. Thank goodness my landlord knows a lot about drainage.

Plumbing, specially the drainage system is a lot of hassle when it is not functioning properly. A few things I have learned, specially with sink is not to put waste on the drainage. I have the tendency to drain our food waste directly to the sink instead of placing it in the trashcan (ah yeah talk about laziness). Now I know what how to take care of our drainage system.

I know it can be hard to find the perfect gift for someone. You want everything to be special and have the right gift. How about some cookies from Mrs. Fields?

If you haven’t heard of Mrs. Fields yet, you’re in luck. They have the best cookies. I did a review on some of their cookies before. If you haven’t checked that out make sure to take a look at it. It was for a Winter Flurry Snowman package.

This time I was provided with a Valentine’s box from Mrs. Fields. It’s called the Little Bit of Love Box. It came with 18 nibblers bite sized cookies and 2 hand frosted heart cookies. All the cookies are soft and moist. I would have to say these are my favorite brand of cookies. They also sent me a 20% off card which I’ll be able to use on an order.

I really enjoyed the chocolate chip and triple chocolate cookies. My husband and daughter ate the heart cookies before I was able to take a close up photo of them. I got a little piece from my daughter and it was so delicious. I love how soft the cookies are. You can see a photo above of the heart cookies. They are sugar cookies with frosting on top. I normally don’t care for frosting, but this frosting was different. It was extremely good.

lo

If you’re looking for some Valentine cookies for someone or maybe even yourself, check out Mrs Fields cookies. They have a lot of different options for Valentine gifts. Many other items to choose from as well.
