Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1 Review

As mentioned, the first time I saw the Twilight Saga was only a few months ago.. during the time that Twilight is making a scene on the movie world, I was like lost in my own world. I was never curious of it or it must be because it is everywhere..and I am not a type of person who gives in to a hype that easily.

We had Twilight Saga marathon for two days and waited impatiently for Breaking Dawn..last Saturday, we finally saw Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. So here’s a short review without spoilers, I promise.

Breaking Dawn-Part 1 is the fourth movie installment of the Twilight Saga. This part focused on Edward and Bella’s life as husband and wife and also focuses on Bella’s pregnancy. The main characters involved on this part is Bella, Edward and Jake. Edward’s family is still present and also plays important roles where as Bella’s side where only seen once or thrice.

I already mentioned how I find this movie very sappy but I still liked it and in fact would not mind watching it again. I cannot compare it to the book since I haven’t read any of it yet, but as Ane pointed out, this is by far the closest to the book. I cannot also compare it to the other movies as I have not seen it in cinema unlike this one. So I will just make a review without comparison.

Let’s start it with the characters, I really love how Bella was made of during the movie, her emotions/ state of mind (as well as state of health) can clearly be seen just by looking at her eye bugs er I mean face. Her wedding jitters reaction during the walk in the aisle scene is just perfect. And her gown was done in a very good taste (it was not shown on the trailer so you have to watch the movie to see it).. her send out dress is really sexy and made her look like a lady, a contrast to what she use to wear, jeans and shirt.

Edward, on the other hand, looks a bit out of character in some of the scenes. OK, I am so into Edward’s being an old fashion, seeing him in a very relaxed outfit does not seems right for me. Still, his attitude is still the same, always looking after Bella’s welfare. Jake, hmm there is not much to tell him except that he is looking hotter more than ever.

My favorite scenes comes from their Honeymoon and Jake’s imprinting to Bella’s daughter. Honestly, I cried on that scene, it transcends beyond romance.. the scene is very heartwarming. I also love the part where Edward finally accepted their baby and that scene was worth mentioning, makes them look like a real happy family. There are parts of the movie where I cannot help but laugh, the wedding scene, specially the father of the bride speech is really cool. But even though there are parts that I really like, there is one scene that is worth the cringe, the EJ scene.. that’s like, ewe! hahaha

The soundtrack was not that exceptional since I can’t even remember a song from the movie..and because I am quite a fan of overly dramatic* cinematography, I love how it was filmed. There is not a part of the movie that I find boring, in fact I was surprised when it ends (with Bella opening her red eyes).

Overall, I give this movie a 9.. less 1 because it made me spend my whole Sunday reading about Twilight.

Overly dramatic is how I categorized cinematography that focuses on small details and emotions.

Breaking Dawn With Nina

It is seldom that we have a date like this.. as she is one of the few people that I trust with my kids.. it’s either I go out or she goes but not together. The first movie date we had was last February  2010. Then another one last July, we watched Harry Potter 🙂

She is a movie fan and I am not.. but I always look forward to our simple dates.. gives us the chance to bond as sisters (and my chance to nag her nyahaha) without the kids.. yesterday, after an “I almost lost my sanity mommy moment (because of Mico’s non stop whining)” hubby allowed me to watch Breaking Dawn with her.. it’s a good thing that my mom is still here to look after the kids while we watch the stress away nyahaha

We went for a 4:30 showing at Robinson’s Galleria (still full after my mom’s birthday celebration).. we’re a bit late.. blame that popcorn guy! LOL

OK, I am not a Twilight fan… this will be the first time that I will be watching it in cinema.. it was only a few months ago when I learned how sappy and yet entertaining this saga can be. It was during my lowest time when ABS CBN had the Tagalized version of Twilight on of their afternoon movie delight.. and my sister hated it so much.. and I was curious so we had the Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse for 2 days (if I am not mistaken). It’s overly dramatic and yet it kinda grew on me.. and again, curiosity got a hold on me.. and I find myself looking forward to Breaking Dawn..

And so here we are.. it is still the most overly dramatic movie I have ever seen.. but I really enjoyed watching it.. specially the subtle comedy on it.. and the Imprint scene was more than I expected it to be.. and yes I cried on that scene.. overall, I hate it! I mean not that kind of hate.. but you, I hate the fact that the I was so into the movie that I didn’t even noticed the time.. and was actually surprised that it just ended right before my eyes! arghh!! and what I hate the most is the fact that I have to wait for another year for part 2!!!!!!!!!!! I hate waiting!

Pinay Mommies Community 2nd Grand EB

48 Busy Mommy Bloggers in one place.. that’s not an easy feat.. and to say the event was a huge success, is an understatement.

The Pinay Mommies Community 2nd Grand Eyeball can be dubbed as the mommy bloggers event of the year. From a target of 50 mommies, 48 graced the event. These mommy bloggers came from different parts of the world, one came from Canada, the other one from the US and one from Germany. Mommy Bloggers all over the Philippines also joined the said event, we have moms from Baguio, from Cagayan de Oro, from Bacolod and from Bicol as well as moms who are from Rizal and from different parts of the Metro.

The first PMC grand EB was held last April 2011, and just a few weeks after that, we already started planning for the 2nd grand eb, yes the first one was so bitin that we all end up asking for more! The date was set and the ball started rolling, and just like any other events organizing, we experienced some bumps along the way but with this photo proudly displayed on our group wall, those bumps just made the event more successful.

The event, of course, wouldn’t that successful if not for the help and support of companies who believed in us and agreed to be our sponsors. Their products, I can say and I am sure the moms would agree, are those that we trust and use.

As for our major sponsors, we have the following companies that gave each mom something to bring home and generously gave items that were raffled off during the event.

Smart Steps  brand is the newest baby care line from EVEolution, Inc. Safe and high quality yet affordable  line of products for taking care of our little ones.

They gave each mom a sample of their products such as Smart Steps Baby Fabric Conditioner, Smart Steps Baby Bottle Cleanser, Smart Steps Baby Laundry Detergent (liquid and powder), Holy Seat Disposable toilet seat cover and Holy Seat hand spray toilet seat sanitizer. Smart Steps also brought in a box with their complete line of baby care and was raffled off during the event.

One of the leading pharmaceutical (and most trusted when it comes to Quality Health Care) company in the country also graced our event by being one of our major sponsor, I mean 3 as Unilab sponsored not just one product but three. Each mom got a loot bag from Unilab that contains products such as Rashfree (used for prevention and treatment of diaper rash), Loperamide Diatabs (used for symptomatic relief of acute diarrhea), Multivatimins Enervon (provides essential vitamins to help maintain good health and energy). It also contains products from Ibuprofen Dolan, tumbler, pencil case and a very cute pencil. Ascorbic Acid Ceelin 5oo ml bottle was included.

Loot bags from Unilab, Ceelin and Dolan. Unilab generously gave items that were raffled off. Moms smiled their hearts out as their names were picked and handed out their raffle items.

Our minor sponsors, gave each moms their products:

Scotch-Brite brought in their  home cleaning products such as Scotch-Brite Kitchen Gloves, Scotch-Brite Easy Erasing Pad, Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty Bathroom Scrub Sponge, Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty Antibacterial Scrub Sponge, Scotch-Brite Light Duty Scrub Sponge with fun designs.

Procter and Gamble also send in some of their products and each mom received a pack of Ariel Stain Lift with deep cleaning technology and Pampers Active Baby.

Moms also received a bag of Umami products that includes, Ajinamoto Umami Seasoning, Crispy Fry breading mix, SoQuick Marinade Mix, Aji-Sho seasoning mix (garlic and pepper), Fres-C concentrated drink mix, Tasty Boy all purpose breading mix, Ajinomoto Sinigang sa Sampalok, Ajinomoto Ginisa Flavor Mix and Pal Sweet Calorie Free Sweetener.

Our friends from Geiser-Maclang, brought in Krispy Kreme and gave us an Alaxan/Pacman shirt. And yes, that is the reason why an almost 50 moms had donut for breakfast last Wednesday.

Some of our minor sponsors also gave items that were raffled off during the event:

Ainon gave 2 strollers but the moms decided that instead of raffling the strollers we are going to use it on our charity event this coming month. Ainon also gave gift packs that were raffled off and it includes, ….. products description

Avon, the company of women, also gave gift packs (which were also raffled off) with products such as Skin so Soft lotion, Avon Advance Techniques straight and sleek hair product, Avon Ultra Color Rich white gold lipstick, Avon Super Curlacious Mascara.

Drypers on the other hand sponsored gift packs which includes Drypers Weewee Dry Diapers, Libresse products and 1000 PhP McDo GC.

Other sponsors who graced our event were Richwell they gave away some toys such as Barbie and Hotwheels. Grendha sponsored some pairs and like the other sponsors they were raffled off during the event.

Although Pinay Mommies Community collected an amount from attendees to cover the food, venue and other expenses, Goldquest Biotechnologies send us some cash that were added to the PMC 2nd grand EB fund.

The program was divided into two parts, part 1 where sponsors were acknowledged and their items were raffled odd and PMC founder Ruby had a short talk on how the community started and PRMoms.net (PMC’s PR arm) was launched.

Part 2 of the event includes PMC shirt distribution and token giving wherein each one brought a token for each attendees (dubbed as PMC’s mini divi!). Items from PMC members were also raffled off such as Walis Tambo from Baguio, wellness items sponsored by World of Welness.

The event was held at Aling Tonya’s Seafood Restaurant at Pasay City. It was hosted by two of the most cheerful PMC member Cielo and Ning. Registration and loot bags distribution were manned by Rossel, Levy, Nina, Mae, Maricel, Kaye and Fedhz. Our official photographers for the event were Mauie and Eihdra while Cecile, Olga and Gene helped with the products display during the program.

Our Photoboot was sponsored by Krazy Pix Photobooth, portable photo booth for all occasions– weddings, birthdays, baptismal parties, reunions, anniversaries, product launchings, corporate events or any gathering.
