Amusement Floating Restaurant

Yes you read it right, I am talking about an amusement floating restaurant.

Somewhere in the North, you can find a very amusing restaurant surrounded by rice fields. You will never miss this as this establishment is huge. Huge in terms of decors and all. Can you just imagine huge monkey monuments? Huge Buddha? A feel that you were somewhere else? It is not in Thailand, it is just somewhere in the North. If you are heading to Baguio or in La Union or in Ilocos, surely you won’t miss this resto. It is located in Gerona Tarlac, and the name of the resto is (do I really have to say, I tell you, you won’t miss it) Isdaan.

Isdaan in Gerona Tarlac comes from the creative minds of the people behind Barrio Fiesta (opo Tito ni Heart Evangelista ang may ari). What makes this place different from other Barrio Fiesta branch is its theme. Although you can still feel the nativity in their nipa huts and dancers, there’s a lot icons on the place that would make you think you’re in Thailand (forgive me if I am wrong but that’s our first impression). There’s the lucky hand, the wishing Buddha and even huge spitting monkeys. And picture taking is not prohibited, just bring extra batteries for your cam.

I said floating right? yes it is kinda floating beacuase you are surrounded by man made pool( about 8 to 10 feet deep) with so many many many fish in it. The kids (and kids at heart) will enjoy this. As you wait to be seated, they give away free food fish. Try to put some on the water and you will be amazed as the fish fights for the pellet, makes you think this poor fish were not fed.LOL

Recently they added some nice and naughty features in the place. Scattered all over are the political figures in our country. There was a bench where Tita Cory and Cardinal Sin chats (we just assume LOL). There was also guards who were sleeping on duty (ops!)
Then there was this big Trex ready to devour Tita Cory (bad Trex! bad Trex!)

If you are still not amazed with the above mentioned. I am sure the next attraction will take you off your feet to the nearest bus terminal (to the north of course). The restaurant main attraction is not actually the food or the lavish monuments. The main reason why this has been famous (and continue to be) was their Tacsyapo Wall. This wall was made for the sole purpose of hatred and anger. Hold your temper guys, they have no intention to make you hate them. Actually they made this to release some of your ill feelings. Yo can purchase glasses, plates and even TV from them and throw it in the Tacsyapo Wall. COOLNESS? nah wait till you see the writings on the wall and hit your jackpot!

Now let’s talk about the food. Well, there’s a wide selection of food, huge resto, lots of choices. Their menu was overwhelming actually. You can find a lot of food from different restos. Some coming from the kitchen of Barrio Fiesta, some from Bakahan at manukan. If you are familiar with all the food establishments Ongpauco family owns, basically all the foods are served in Isdaan. The quality of the food in relation to its price and the place is good. It is not cheap, it it is not expensive. If it’s worth the stop, I guess that question has been answered by how amuse you can be on the place. Anyway, a must in the menu is the Mama Chit’s selection or plate. This is actually a big plate with lot of dishes (ugh I have been using a lot a lot.. ugh!), mostly grilled foods. Another must try is the chicken marinated in coconut milk. Their beef soup is a must try too but you have to take chance because they serve it warm, not steaming HOT.

The service? super bad! they are not oriented on the phrase: “The costumer is always right”. We have been there thrice and we experienced bad service more than thrice. To entertain you while your food is serve (by the “willing” waiters), singers or dancers will approach and gives a good show. But it is not free, you have to give them a tip, 20 PhP is not bad, so if you will head on to Isdaan, prepare a lot of twenty peso bills. Or you can avoid them by eating on the far side of the place. LOL

MY rating for this restaurant is 8 out of 10. The points missing is for the bad service of its crew. And oh they even have the luxury to chat while costumers are pouring in. I do reccomend this guys, specially for the balikbayans, it is a must see this summer (poor service might be good if you look like you have alot of money, or that you are a balikbayan). LOL

A Mom and a Wife Tag

I saw this tag from Enchie and Chris and I just could not resist it. This tag seems to be fun..

1. Link with the person who tagged you.
2. Copy above images. (whoa! I can’t find the image!)
3. Post this on any or all of your Blog/s.
4. Answer the two-part questionnaire following these Rules. (Feel free to elaborate your answers. For questions 8 – 14, post only the one (1) which you believe best describes your choice.)
5. Share this with at least seven (7) friends on your Blog Roll.
6. Come back to Living A’ La Mode (DO NOT CHANGE THIS LINK PLEASE.) and leave the URL of your Post in order for you/your Blog to be added to the Master List.

Parenting Style

1. Do you exercise full or minimal control over your child’s / children’s behavior?
Yes, I am the one in control and I believe all parents should be in control over their kid’s behavior. We are responsible in teaching our kid’s what is right and what is not.

2. Do you expect your child / children to obey 100% or let her / him / them do what pleases her / him / them?
It really depends on the situation, sometimes I let them pass, sometimes I don;t it really depends, but mostly we base our decision on logic.

3. Do you welcome discussion or you simply set rules?
Of course we do, we encourage them to say what’s on their mind but there are times when I tell them, if mommy says no, it means no..

4. Do you reprimand?
Yes

5. Do you use spanking for punishment?
I used to, but now, I promised myself I will no longer hit them. I have my reasons.. and plan on writing about that and hope to discourage moms from spanking their kids..

6. Do you use some kind of a reward System for motivation?
I try to, but it is not effective, logic seems to work best with my kids.

7. Do you enjoy being a Parent?
Oh my, do you really have to ask? LOL

8. Are you a hands-on Parent or do you have a full-time Nanny?
Full time, hands on, feet on, breast on.. everything..

9. At what age would you let your child make simple decisions for himself / herself?
As soon as he already knows the concept of himself..or what he likes.. Like my youngest baby, if he wants to play this kind of toy, I just let him.. after all it is what he likes.. as long as it won’t harm him.. but if my 5 year old suddenly decides, he’ll be marrying soon, that.is.another.story.

10.Do you and your Husband have the same Parenting Style?
I really don’t know, but I always tell him that I should be the one disciplining our kids. He should not, as much as possible, be mad at them. He is working and spend less time with his kids and I believe that he should spend it wisely. So it is understood that he is the spoiler and I am the disciplinarian.

Wife Style

7. How long have you been married?
6 years

8. How do you feel about being a Wife?
* It’s fun.
* It’s just a duty.
* OK.
* I hate it.

It’s fun but I feel and think that it is also a duty, a responsibility.

* A cotton night gown.
* Sweats or Shorts
* Something sheer & soft.

I wish for nothing..LOL.. a sando and pyjama and socks

10. How do you show how appreciative you are of your Husband?
* By being always affectionate.
* By giving him presents even if there is no occasion.
* By cooking his favorite dishes all the time.
* I do not show him anything.

I show him EVERYTHING! LOL kidding aside, by being passionate always

11. What do you do when your Husband annoys you?
* Keep quite for a little while.
* Just ignore whatever it is.
* Talk with him about it immediately.
* Scream at him.

Keep quiet.. it works..always..

12. You are buying or planning to buy your first house as Husband and Wife ….
* It is / going to be a large estate.
* It is / going to be in a suburb close to a big city.
* It is / going to be in a metropolis.
* It is / going to be a fixer-upper but with tremendous potential that you can fill with first-rate furniture and appliances.

It is going to be in a suburb inside a city.. we are renting on a place like that and hope to buy our own here..

13. How does your house look like at the end of the day when Hubby gets home?
* Immaculate and spotless.
* You are still finishing up your cleaning.
* Unmade bed, unwashed dishes and children’s toys all over.
* Husband’s clutter are left for him to take care of.

It never bothers him if the house is spotless or unmade, as long as there’s food on the table..

Flatterring Awards

I received two awards, these two are so flattering, hence the title.

Sara of The Breathing Post awarded me with the WORTH FOLLOWING AWARD. When I started blogging, Sara is one of the people who are very nice to me. She accepted my friendship amidst our differences geographically. She is a first time mommy, and is due this April. I just can’t wait for her baby to come out, I am as excited as she is. I love going back to her site because she writes very nice, she is a good story teller. I love her funny anecdotes, her struggles and her patience. Actually it was HER blog that is worth following.

Here are the Rules:
Give this award to three of your favorite blogs. Choose ones you make a point of reading as often as possible!

When you nominate them, you have to write a short description (just a few sentences) about the blog and why you nominated that blog.

Link to each of your choices, as well as the the blog that nominated you! Spread the love!
Here are my three:

I have so many blogs in mind but I guess I needed to limit it to three, here they are folks:

Enchie of Sweet Nothings. I don’t know how we met in the blogosphere but when I first had the glimpse of her blog and her writings, I can say I am hooked. She has a way of working her charms on her readers. She is very friendly in her writing. I also call her the Queen of EC

Fedhz of Home Buddies. For sure Fedhz will not receive this award, but what the heck, I really think she deserves it, after all this girl is one of my follower too. Seriously guys, Fedhz has a lot of information to share, and you will love her writing style as well. I tell you, she is more than worth following.

Jade of Life of a Filipina Blogger. Another blog that is worth following. Jade is a Filipina living with her husband in Singapore. I find her blog amusing, funny and worth my time. Same as with Enchie, I can’t remember how we met on the Internet. There was an instance though that marked my addiction to her site. She left me a message saying I should check out her post with painful pics. I actually try hard not to go back to that post, it really is gross. I commented on it saying that I was intentionally not seeing her post and from then on, her blog is always included on my blog hopping.

I really have a lot more blog to nominate, if you are not here, it does not mean your blog is not worth following, actually I am following more than 50 blogs, if I have to list them all, it will really take a while.. LOL

Enchie awarded me again.. (hugs for Enchie!) this time it’s the Smart Blogger Award. I don;t know what to say but thank you. I am not a smart blogger, in fact, I am a dummy blogger, hence the birth of my tech blog.

Accordingly, The recipient of this award is not your everyday blogger, if you visit their blog, one thing for sure, you will learn something (but most of the time, a lot) that really worth the time you spend reading their post. Their post is always well-written, with good grammar (I am absolutely not qualified in this award! lol!), very insightful,inspiring,thought provoking and you always wish that you’ve written it. They always have a great stories to tell,either about life, about themselves, or their family. Once you read their blog, there’s one thing that will stuck to your head, that they are absolutely, no doubt, a Smart Blogger!

  • Link the one who gave this award and let them know you posted it.
  • Pass this to as many Smart Bloggers as you can think and make sure to write something about them, like what makes you think they are Smart.
  • Let them know they have an award.

I am passing this to:

Niko
. Niko never fails to make me laugh with her entries. She makes me feel welcome. Go and visit her blog and you’ll just know what I mean.
Ghie. Hilarious, one word for Ghie..
Kaye, she is my blog mentor, need I say more?
