Tiger Energy Playground (First Ever in the Philippines!)

When I received an invite to witness the launching of the first ever Energy Playground in the country, I was excited..it was very interesting. Imagine a playground that transforms the kids energy to electrical energy.. I want to know how they did it.. I mean with 5 kids full of energy, we might even have our own source of electrical energy. hahaha

The first ever energy Playground is a collaboration between Tiger energy Biscuits (Kraft)* and the students of Mapua Institute of Technology. The team from Mapua is made up of Electrical Engineering thesis advisers Engr. Michael Pacis, Engr. Conrad Ostia, Engr. Ronald Santiago and Engr. Mark Christian Manuel; and students John Ray Abad, Merryll Capucao, Lynette Dane Legaspi, Jovan Barrago, Jeffrey Adams Uy, Daniel Oliver Calapatia, and Dave Bautista.

The Energy Playground has two playground element (seesaw and merry go round) that turns the energy produced in playing with it into electrical energy that is stored in a battery and can be used up to 36 hours (for every 24 hours play). Although the science behind it is difficult to explain, the mechanism is really simple, each time a child or two played on the seesaw (for example), the up and down energy produced is stored and made into electrical energy.

The first ever Energy Playground is donated to Hospicio de San Jose

“We chose to donate the Tiger Energy Playground to Hospicio de San Jose to remind the children here that they have not been forgotten this Christmas, and that there is reason for them to be hopeful for a bright future. Hopefully soon, the Playground will also be able to help Hospicio in its operations, by helping provide part of its power consumption so that their monthly electricity bill can be reduced.” said Carlo Licuanan, Kraft Foods Category Marketing Manager for Biscuits

Make Up Haul (and other items from Walmart)

bought it last October from Walmart.. and got it only this December (blame the USPS grr).. the day it arrived, it felt like Christmas! 2 boxes of goodies and some items for the Marces..

Teething Jewelries

I love wearing fancy necklace from time to time. It’s a great way to change my look from simple to glam. But whenever I have a new baby, I have to stop wearing fancy necklace, for some reason I don’t know, the babies love munching on my necklace. I also heard from friends that their babies are like that, they prefer the necklace over their teething toys. I guess that’s how babies are, they always love to munch on what their moms are wearing.

It’s not safe to let your kids munch on your jewelry, there is a risk that it can fall apart and that the baby might swallow it and choked. Aside from that, those jewelries are really not for munching, it has germs and also might contain materials that are harmful when put into mouth. So what can we do? ditch the necklace? of course not. We can still look glam and pretty with our necklace and not worry about the kids. That, we have to thank amber jewellery, a line of interesting products that are non toxic and eco- friendly. Their teething necklace is the perfect accessory for moms who have babies. And knowing that this product is eco-friendly, I think I know what to give to my expectant friends this Christmas.
