#‎51TalkTeacherStory‬ Awarding Ceremony and 51Talk Welcomes Michele Gumabao Back

Finally went out of my cave to attend ‪#‎51TalkTeacherStory‬ awarding ceremony and the launch of 51Talk’s newest ambassador.

First time to hear about 51Talk? Ano ba, have you been living under the rock?

O sya, let’s have a short course about 51Talk.

51Talk is the number 1 online English platform in China and the fastest growing online English Language Teaching (ELT) platform in the Philippines. The company was established on China in 2011, and began operations in the Philippines since 2012.

And since it is an online English Language Teaching platform, of course they have their own share of National Teacher’s Month celebration. 51Talk paid tribute to its teachers through the #51TaklTeacherStory contest. The contest were encouraged to share their stories and experiences being an online teacher. All entries were judged based on uniqueness, inspirational appeal and over all impact.

“With their commendable communication skills, Filipinos are proven to be one of the best teachers of the English language,” shared Jen Que, Vice President for Philippine Operations. “It was hard picking the top 3 entries. We admire their patience, passion, and perseverance in making a difference in the lives of our students and providing for their families.”

Out of 250 entries from all over the Philippines, 3 winners were chosen.

3rd place winner is a persevering Architecture student and a passionate teacher through 51Talk, Teacher Amorlove from Cebu. Being a student hereself, she knows and understands her students’ passion for learning. It serves as her inspiration in her teaching session.

A single mother and an online English educator, Teacher Lilydale, comes in 2nd place. Teaching English online not only gave her a fulfilling job, but also granted her the chance to always be present for her son and take care of him.

Winning the contest at 1st place is Teacher Moyee, who helped her student overcome his nervousness. She started talking to him about his interests and other topics that he’s comfortable with to ease him into conversing in English. After a month of lessons and newfound confidence, her student moved to Australia to pursue a master’s degree.

After the awarding, 51Talk welcomes Michele Gumabao back as 51Talk ambassador.

As the 51Talk Ambassador in the Philippines, multi- awarded power spiker Michelle Gumabao continues to inspire confidence and determination among the Filipino youth.

When she joined 51Talk, Michelle also conducted an online English class to different learners. Through her stints in online English she understands that what motivates any Filipino e- Educators today is witnessing the eagerness and determination of the students to learn.

How to be a Home-Based Online English Teacher at 51Talk?

51Talk Job Requirements:

Excellent command of the English language
Available to teach minimum of 5 days a week from 7 pm- 11 pm (most students are online at this time)
Computer proficiency is expected

51Talk Home Office Requirements:

Wired DSL connection (speed of at least 3Mbps)
Laptop/ desktop with Windows 7 or 8: 2 GB RAM, Intel Core Duo or AMD equivalent
Webcam (HD)
Headset (with Noise Cancelling feature)

How much I can earn from 51Talk?

One can earn as much as 35,000 Pesos monthly at 51Talk and there’s a guaranteed payout of 2000 PhP for newcomers as long as they will open 50 slots (25 hours) per cut off and 4000 PhP if 80 slots (40 hours) per cut off. Cut off is every 15 days.

Buti na lang Pasig Day, pwedeng umattend ng events si mommy! Coincidentally, I got an invite to attend Robinsons Supermarket Freshtival Celebration at Robinsons Galleria.

Robinsons Supermarket started this month- long festivity last year. Freshtival entitles shoppers with daily exciting offers. Each day of the week may product or section na naka highlight and shoppers can take advantage of the buy one take one offers, price offs and freebies!

Freshtival also provided and opportunity to introduce new product offerings of Robinsons Spermarket. Introduced were global brands like Chobani Greek Yogurt, Dairy Farmers Yogurt, Galbani Precious Ricotta Cheese, Gelista Premium Gelati and Auselect milk. Interesting find during the event: FLAVORED SALTED EGG!

It’s salted egg with flavor! It comes in Adobo, Garlic, Cheese, Basil, Lemon Grass and Pandan. A box of 12 eggs is priced at 100 PhP. My kids loved the adobo flavor.

Racks Megamall New Look and New Dish: Smoked Spring Chicken

Racks Megamall has a new look! And it’s now located at 4th floor, beside Tenya.

It’s homier di ba? We got an invite to try out Racks’ newest offering and experience their new look in Megamall.

My kids were really excited for this event, mukhang ribs ang mga batang ito.. and they really love some of Racks’ desserts.

We shared the table with my Kumares, si Peachy is due on her 2nd child during this event kaya absent! Segue>> congrats Peachy!

For starters, we were served with Salad With Blackened Chicken Strips and The Onion Brick

And then Fish & Chips

I was surprised the kids loved the Batter fried London style Fish.

This came in right after, met by ooohhs and aaahhs from my kids hahaha

And last before the desserts is Racks’ newest offering: Smoked Spring Chicken

Slowly and carefully smoked over hickory wood until the meat is tender that it simply falls off the bone! It’s very flavorful.. the smokey flavor is very evident and the Alabama White Sauce that comes with every serving, completes the overall BBQ experience. I could finish this alone! Ang sarap talagaaa!

Our barbecue dinning experience concluded with sweet treats from Rack’s desserts menu:

Racks’ Mississippi Mud Pie – A moist chocolate fudge brownie laden with gooey chocolate inside on a bed of thick choco syrup topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.

And the boys said Yeeehhaaaaa!

And cheesecake for the adults! Gusto din namin yung mudpie kaso inubusan nila kame! Seriously, this is one of my fave dessert in Racks, it comes in two berries: strawberry and blueberry!
