Hawk Trolley Bag (6 wheel trolley) Review

uh, well, he said he really needs a bigger bag and seeing how he struggles putting all his books and other stuff inside his old bag, I just have to say yes. Mico got his new rubber shoes anyway(shopped at Zalora, different blog post) so, it is just fair to buy a new bag for Kuya.

I am quite impressed with Hawk 6 wheel trolley bag.. I must commend the sales representative at SM, they really know their products well and explained every details I need to know.. and convinced me that Hawk trolley 6 wheel bag is what my son needs. But no, we didn’t bought his bag from SM, Robinsons Galleria is friendlier for us, less people, smaller shopping area (with 4 kids, trust me, you wouldn’t survive an hour or two at Megamall LOL?

The 6 wheel trolley bag is different from your usual bag, well, because it has 6 wheels (oh there you go captain obvious haha).. so what advantage does 6 wheel trolley bag has over the more popular 2 wheeled trolley bag? This:

The trolley bag with 6 wheels can be pushed or pulled sideways too, making the bag easier to maneuver compared to a 2 wheeled trolley bag. This Hawk 6 wheel trolley bag is worth PhP3,799, not bad, considering Hawk is a trusted name when it comes to bag.

The bag is big enough to accommodate 20 books. It’s spacious and my son said it is easier to arrange his school stuff.

Aside from the size, the bag includes a cover bag, specially useful during rainy days:

The bag comes with 2 detachable side pockets (perfect for snacks and water bottle), it also comes with a free bottle water.

Given the price tag, I’m expecting that this bag will last until he graduates from Elementary.

P.S.

In a thank you letter he wrote (school activity) he mentioned the bag not just once.. it only shows how much he appreciates the bag.. good decision on buying this one.

Eat All You Can First Timers

Alam niyo naman na isang baranggay ang anak ko… and even if we want to bring them to an eat all you can restaurant, medyo alangan.. una baka hindi sulit at pangalawa, baka umabot ng milyones ang bill ko hahahaha

But since it was HIS birthday last May (if it was my birthday, an eat all you can treat wouldn’t be enough, I might ask for a pull out shelf hahaha), we decided it’s about time the kids experience an eat all you can buffet. We went to Sambokojin Eastwood for lunch on his birthday (un ang pinakamalapit eh at sawa na din kame sa Yakimix).. and even though we didn’t called for a reservation, they were able to accommodate us.

Enjoy naman ang bagets, in fact nag aayaya ulit doon! They had a blast at the ice cream station and they also liked the spicy chicken wings

For me, this crispy and sweet chicken is the best as well as the braised beef.. well, panalo din sa akin ang desserts station nila.. not the cakes but the chocolate dipping.. tastes like tsokolate eh ..

And here’s after eating more than 3 cups of ice cream: (ayaw sumama ni birthday sa picture haha)

Well, hindi naman umabot ng milyones ang bill.. actually, I was quite surprised that our bill was less than 2K. We paid for two adults (549 each) + 2 kids (319+ each), the two younger kids were free of charge. With this kind of policy, mawiwili yata kame sa Sambokojin haha

May funny story pala after that.. pag dating sa bahay, amazing race kame lahat sa CR.. busog na busog ang mga bagets!

And the moral lesson according to my little girl: Pag gutom, kakain, pag busog, tigil na kumain.

Helping Your Kids Prepare for College

One of the first thoughts you are probably going to have, after getting over the glow of becoming a new parent, is “how on Earth am I going to save for my child’s college education?” Here’s the truth: while you undoubtedly want to be the parent who finds a way to save up and pay for the entirety of the cost of sending your kids to University, it’s good to ask them to pay for at least a portion of it.

Helping your child figure out how to save up for college (and other major expenses) is one of the best habits that you can do as a parent. The other is teaching your kids how to handle credit.

So how do you accomplish these goals?

Allowances

There are some hot debates raging out there about whether or not giving your child an allowance is a good idea. On the one hand, you don’t want your kids to get used to receiving money for nothing. On the other, it’s a great way to start teaching your kids about money at an early age.

Some parents compromise on the issue by assigning a dollar value to certain chores (outside of the normal chores assigned to each child) to help kids get used to the idea of earning money instead of just getting it.

Saving V. Spending

Whatever your decision about giving an allowance, one thing is for sure: you want your kids to get used to saving as soon as possible. Set up a standing rule that your kids need to save at least 10% of everything they earn. When they’re little they can simply give that money to you and you can put it in a bank or even back in the bank for them. When they’re older, you can set up an independent savings account for them to use on their own.

Credit

As soon as you feel that your kids are old enough to be trusted with one (and are earning money independently), you should give them a credit card. You can find credit cards with the best interest rates listed at NerdWallet.

Another good idea is to set up a secured credit card for them with a very low credit limit. This way you don’t have to worry about them accidentally overcharging way too much and your getting stuck with the bill. The goal is to get them used to making payments and dealing with interest rates.

The goal is to teach them real world lessons about credit before they get to college and are forced to deal with overzealous credit card vendors. You don’t want them to get overly excited about an account with a 30% interest rate and no credit limit!

Frequent Reminders

Don’t’ forget to remind your kids that saving up for college is a worthy goal. It’s okay if they know that you plan on helping them with tuition. Just keep reminding them that they might also want to eat food that isn’t from a cafeteria and saving up for school can help them afford that stuff.

Good luck!
