Ingredients:

• 2 tablespoons of oil
• 1/4 cup margarine
• 1 whole head of garlic, minced
• 1 large onion, chopped
• 1/4 to 1/2 kg chicken
• 1 teaspoon of kintsay (celery)
• 1 small bell pepper, diced
• 1 small carrot, sliced
• 8 pieces of cocktail hotdogs, sliced
• 450 grams elbow macaroni
• 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
• 6 cups of water
• 1 big can of evaporated milk
• 1 small cabbage (repolyo), chopped
• Salt to taste

How to Make This Pinoy Sopas Recipe:

1. Sauté the Aromatics:
   Heat oil and margarine in a pan. Add garlic and onions, and cook until fragrant.
2. Cook the Chicken:
   Add the chicken and sauté it with the garlic and onion. Make sure it absorbs all the flavors!
3. Add Veggies & Hotdogs:
   Once the chicken is cooked, mix in kintsay, bell pepper, and hotdogs. (For a less colorful dish, fry the hotdogs separately.)
4. Toss in the Macaroni:
   Add the carrots and elbow macaroni. Stir in a tablespoon of oyster sauce for extra flavor.
5. Simmer & Soften:
   Pour in 6 cups of water and let the macaroni simmer for 18-20 minutes, until almost tender.
6. Finish with Milk & Cabbage:
   Add evaporated milk and chopped cabbage, and boil for a few more minutes. Adjust the salt to taste, and if you need more broth, feel free to add more water.

I can’t remember the brand of the bread I used for this, but it was wheat bread and I toasted it before making the sandwich. The hotdog brand I used was Purefoods, the cocktail size which I just split in half for a flatter sandwich structure – so, one sandwich used three hotdogs.

Classic Hotdog Sandwich Ingredients:

1. 3 slices of toasted Wheat bread per sandwich
2. cocktail size hotdogs (split in half, three per sandwich)
3. Pickles
4. grated cheese
5. Ketchup
6. Mayonnaise
7. Honey mustard

There were no vegetables because we ran out, but I added pickles except for Marius’s, and then cheese. Of course, ketchup is a must with hotdog, plus more mayo, and honey mustard.

2. Split the Hotdogs: Once cooked, split each hotdog in half lengthwise. This will help them lay flat in the sandwich and allow for even distribution of flavors.
3. Prepare the Bread: Lay out three slices of bread for each sandwich.
4. Apply Mayonnaise: Using a squeeze bottle, apply mayonnaise evenly on all three slices of bread.
5. Assemble the First Layer: Place the halved hotdogs on the first slice of bread. Drizzle ketchup on top of the hotdogs.
